It's a much longer tradition than that at Maryland. Started in the 90s, then Debbie Yow banned the song, so the students started singing it on their own in 98, then they brought back the song. Banned it again in 2003ish, and students started doing it on their own again.
I was at the first game in 2002 when that was happened I miss the good ole days. What game was it was it against Miami (OH) or against the Harlem Globetrotters.
