No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
@jokowwenna You're right, the Stones didn't die when Brian did,and subsequently released some great albums. But when you take such a musical genius out of the equation,a big hole emerges.Mick Taylor was a brilliant guitarist and certainly did the technical job but Brian was the founder and soul of the band, and things could never be quite the same again. My teen years were spent worshipping the Stones and,to my mind, their unique magic has never been equalled.I wish I could re-live the 60's!!
Thanks to one of the greatest fan of the Stones (Martin Scorsese) and his amazing movie (Mean Streets) I came to know this song, now I can't get it out of my head... I love it!
One of the earliest Jagger/Richards songs and one of the best. I think this is possibly Mick's strongest vocal performance. I bet if you polled 1000 Stones fans this would be in almost everybody's top 5. Only released as a single in the US,never the UK. How very strange. Who would have thought this song would sound just as fabulous 47 years on - surely concrete proof that the Stones are the greatest rock band the world has ever known.
Its the first song Jagger/Richard composed ! Andrew Oldham locked them in a room and wouldnt let them out until they wrote a song and this is the result ! Fact !
Hi...I think I am wrong in what I said. The stones are obuiously singing to the recording that was their record. I am sorry but I am not too hip on technology. Especially these days.. Thank you for your e-mail. I still am a Stones fan and I always will be. In fact I am almost as old as they are...64!! It's just a number though. Again thank you...karmicsin1 P.S. I also haue to use the letter "u" in place of the next letter in the alphabet until I get a new keyboard.....
@karmicsin1 they don't lip sync in this vid. The sound is put over the vid way later than the original recording, because the quality of sound from 1964 is really awful.
REally awesome cut on adjustments of sound to get the quality of realness in this. Salute you to one of the greatest sounds!!!! These guys so good!!!!
A favorite Stones tune of mine. Doesn't Charlie Watts always look like his mind is, as Jagger and Richards titled it, "Two Thousand Light Years From Home"? HAHAHA! How about Bill Wyman? To retitle another Stones tune, he has a "Face (not Heart) Of Stone". HAHAHAHA!
No offense meant, honest, but Jones wasn't the only Stones. They did perfectly well without him, and he was a bit of a jerk, a constantly high and drugged jerk. Not that none of the rest of them didn't get high, but at least they didn't drown in their swimming pools and have two or three bastard children while still teenagers.
This was the first song I remember hearing by The Stones. This and "Fortune Teller" (original vinyl More Hot Rocks version) are my two favorites, along with "Dandelion", "Ruby Tuesday", and "She's A Rainbow". Gawd, there are so many great ones. Love the '60s Stones.
i had no idea that the spectacular intermezzio guitar rif was brian jones.i always thought it was keith richards.i just love it and it was removed from the 45 release.it's on the LP and i have enjoyed it for years.thank you u-tube
@desiree50 i believe they got screwed on all royalties up to 67-68 or something by mr klein,an American manager. unfortunately coz this song alone ought to pay them off for life
@sattski that song is just so pretty, even the tambourines get to me.i wonder if Brians estate still gets money from early royalties or they were just givena lump sum at some point?
@Desiree50 - nope, the harmony vocals are all Keith.Interesting to hear how his voice sounded before the hard living kicked in. Always makes me smile to think he was a choir boy as a child. On the solos, Brian was responsible for most slide parts between 64-67 while Keith provided the Chuck Berry style licks and solos. 67 - 69 after Brian declined Keith did all the guitar parts.
Yes, the Stones are the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world.
And we can say they presumably will always be the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world...
What would we do without Keefy ?
