@hstscotsman The driver died of leukemia according to many sources it didn't contribute to his death. If no one else was hurt in the robbery, sounds like a pretty good job and an exciting story. Good video very helpful.
people are still behind them but a few kids steal clothes and the masses want to see them shot what a twisted country this is i dont want to see people shot for stealing trainers that are 10x the price they should be i want to see the trainers sold cheaper
The loco 40126 (D326) was 'jinxed'. Boxing day '62 it was hauling the up Midday Scot when it collided with the rear of a Liverpool to Brimingham express due to driver error, killing 18 passengers and injuring 33. '63 the Robbery. '64 a railwayman electrocuted working outside the loco by the overhead wire. '65 it suffered total brake failure into Birmingham New Street smashing into the back of a freight train, injuring the guard. It was offered to the NRM and they refused it. Broken up '84
I see you have got pics of the bridge when they built that industrial estate next to it. I've got one taken in 1970 with an Austin Cambridge police car next to it. Also I've got all the Daily Mirror newspapers from August 9th 63 up until they found Leatherslade Farm.
have you seen the real loco since then, they recon it was a black horse some got killed on it too, in crewe there was a man on the roof of the loco and he got killed by the electric cables, the loco looks like its been through some bad times since 1963, in fact one driver said, this thing has killed more people than the entire german army, i might put a video on later showing this loco. thanks for sharing the video
@outandabout10 i knew someone from the vulcan works who had heard about this loco. it was a cursed engine. 3 had died under its wheels in suicides within its first 2 years of service.
the room where the jury came to a verdict was in the main office of my youth centre in my school! i didn't know that until today and i've been there 2 and a half years
Ronnie Biggs was only in the gang to acquire a driver that was familiar with the loco. He even f**ked that up. Can't understand why he is hailed as a big gangster.
I think you're wrong about not recovering any of the money. From memory, the police did find a few 'small' amounts,
(30,000 pounds-ish). One was found in a small flower shop; 'The Button Hole' in Molsey, Surrey. Another suitcase full was found in a caravan park on Box Hill, Surrey.
Cassey Johnes the steamer and a roller, Cassey Johnes you never have to guess, when you hear the tooting of the whistle its Cassey at the bottom of the cannonball express
your stuck on what made the winton train famous, or should i say infamous, The clue is in the question, Get this one right and i will give in, good luck
