I think at older ages kids time outs should be longer than a minute per age, that doesn't give them enough thinking time.
My parent sent me to my room and I'd have to stay there for ages, and I seriously learned my lesson, it was unbelievably boring sitting on my bed for an hour or so.
No hitting was involved

@Twinnies91 ( Continued ) My Comment : I laughed at the " for ages " part and I laughed at the " hour or so " part, thinking... and hour was ages to you ? After I got my ass whopped with a homemade paddle I would then get grounded in my room for months at a time I was only allowed to leave my room to go to the bathroom ,take a shower , eat, and go to school, it literally felt like you were in Prison with just your bed ,cover, pillow and 4 walls .

@BiracialGirl1977 Wow :-o, now that's discipline lol. The longest I was in my room for was 2 days lol xD. My dad gave me the option of a beating or to stay in my bed for the rest of my life lol. I chose my bed as I'd never been hit before D:. But after 2 days they let me out lol, I was a good kid though :)

They need to get a job. The kids' parents didnt 'win' their money. Fortune is the wrong word. They WORKED for their money. Homeless people are lazy, drug using, alchohol abbusing, etc.

I agree with you no1zgr14eva i think all children should be taken to a homeless shelter so they can see how foutunate they are to have what they have and be appreative and greatful. I used to have a friend who was selfish and spoiled and totally unappreciative and also a perfectionist. I think my ex-friend should be taken to a homeless shelter to show her how fortunate she is to have what she has and to be greatful i like your comment it's really great!

@Eurodance90schick I agee, and I think it's good to have the girls interact with other adults besides their parents. Kids knuckle under then. I think this family is a little isolated, and the whole "but we don't know what an English garden is! We have no pots!" bothers me. The girls have no chores; they don't share bedrooms or possessions. All these families on Supernanny have expensive homes but zero connection between the people inside them.

these spoilt kids need to be taken to a trip to south africa to see how little babies , children like them are dying or losing their parents and how hungry they are and miserable so they will see for themselves the difference and learn a lesson. @emoluver67 - there are plenty of spoiled rich kids in north africa too..the developing world isn't all slums and starving kids. and south africa is a developing country as well and therefore has it's fair share of slums and poor people. the term third world isn't an appropriate word considering the power shift in emerging countries.

@heomak Have you ever lived in Africa? I have and I'm not just lying over the internet. NOONE in the North is spoilt. And yes the South has its share of slums, hell I lived in a village where there was a little community of low-cost hosing. The south is a very small part of Africa and thats why I can say with confidence that the North is Third world. Search the map of Africa and you will see that there is the South, then Botswana. from there up and to the sides, is all third world.

@emoluver67 - i have a half egyptian cousin who's pretty spoiled..she's never had to work a day in her life...grown up with a driver and maid attending to her every need. when i say north africa, i mean the predominantly arab countries like egypt, morocco, algeria, tunisia...i think u misunderstood & thought i meant sub-saharan africa which is north to south africa not north of the entire continent of africa.
