We had 3 baby groundhogs and 2 parents. One day I was letting our dog outside, forgetting to look for groundhogs in our yard. She was trying to open the door. I let her out, no biggy. Then she killed a baby groundhog. We buried it :,( sob. i woke up crying because of that last night. I haven't seen the other groundhogs since.

 I had three last year just like them. I spent more time taking pictures of them than I want to admit. Unfortuanatly the mother got hit by a car but they were able to take care of themselves by then. They are all 3 still here. They have 4 nice holes to live in.

I hope we don't have another herd of them this year. No more room.

th only reason these guys stayed so long is because they cant se directly infrontf them, then they noticed you and ran, i have a pet wood chuck. hes brown and just over the size of my hand

thank god for semi automatics. lol just picking. even i dont have the heart to kill these young ones. There not hurting anything, id rather just see if i could trap mom, and persuade the others to come out. and put them under an abandoned shed or something like that. (abandoned shed because it provides a lot more cover for the lil ones.)

Its so unfair that they're overpopulated in some places, then you need to shoot em becouse they can make big damage if there is many familys living in same place. They're incredible cute, but can be a pest.
