  • Can yo send me the preset?

    Thanks in advance!

  • 8 people are deaf.

  • What type of scale does Petrucci use in this song for the solo :)

  • @berkalin G-sharp minor...

  • I think you play greate! No doubt about that. But this one sounds a bit "lazy" if you know what I mean... It does not have the edge and the energy that is so important in this solo. The vibrato and the bends are flawless though ;) .

  • @AlfVidarSeen That's called making it look easy. ;D

  • @Alexiaden93 He he he.... Well... It may also be lazyness ;) .... I doubt that though.. I think it might be the tuning and the whole start of this solo from 0:05 til 0:14 is not in time. But after this point it is Epic! Spec at 0:20 . GOD I love that phrase. The sound is also exelent!

  • @AlfVidarSeen The first phrase is in time, what have you been smoking? O_O

  • @Alexiaden93 Well. I'm a nonsmoker. Why would I smoke anything to mean what I mean? Maby I just hear something you don't. I can narrow it down to 0:09 to 0:14 to be more precise . These secounds it is "out of time", means not spot on. It is way to laidback. The feel of this part of the solo (original) is actually the other way arround, it should be spot on the beat. The next phrase should on the other hand be a "tap" in front of the beat. And this is the way it shifts through out the solo.

  • @Alexiaden93 If you listen to the original song and solo you will hear what I'm talking about. The solo starts around 3:00 to 3:30...It depends on the youtube version.

  • @AlfVidarSeen I still strongly disagree. I've listened to the original countless times, something around 100, and I've gone through YouTube clips, and I still can't find any discrepancy in timing.

  • @Alexiaden93 All right. It's your right to disagree ;) ... We all got different "timers" in our bodys. Maby ours are very diferent. But one thing we can agree on ( I hope) is that the original solo is one of the best out there. I think JP nailed it, it got all the elements that a solo for this kind of song needs.

  • the vibrato on those bends was pretty sex. gotta say..

  • i was looking at that specific guitar btw lol hows it play?

  • @TheSonsofHorusx I've played them. The fretboards are smooth as butter. Really well made instruments. IIRC, the neck is pretty thin.

  • coool!

  • what recording system did u use ???

  • wow! that fretboard is wide! or maybe it just seems that way cause of the binding

  • Best another day solo cover on Youtube!

  • Hey what guitar is that in the video?

  • @Phoenixblood23 ESP Horizon FR 2

  • You would earn yourself an amazed sub but I don't want to feel like I'm bad every day :)

  • Absolutely perfect soo clean !!5/5

  • precious* @ Description

  • @shenkeey You're right :)

  • @Kandurananda It's kind of special for people on YouTube to just say someone's right, so that makes you awesome! But then again, playing this solo and all the other solos at your profile made you the most awesome person alive haha! Watched your videos dozens of times :)

  • cleaner than light

  • HOWWWW do you play the fast picking lick so cleanly in the middle...

  • @TheWhocares233 that takes a lot of practice

  • @TheWhocares233 you have to practice same lick over and over again ..slow and the speed it up ...you will do it

  • @TheWhocares233 practice

  • please could you play more John petrucci solos..

  • the fast scale at 0:20 is a little bit different...but awesome playing as always

  • @jack0eagle I think it's exactly how he played it... but there are variations that sound very similar, it's hard to tell but when I play the solo slowed down I think this is the correct way

  • @jack0eagle on a second thought you might be right. On the record it sounds like this.. but the live version seem to have a little varation (instead of repeating the same first pair of triplets twice, it seems he shifts it a bit along the major scale.. if that makes any sense :)

  • dudeee, perfect playing!! but why a whole step lower? i like it better a bit higher:P

  • @666guitarfreak I'm tired of tuning my guitar up-and-down for one solo... and it hurts the neck as well.

  • @Kandurananda You can just play it 1 fret higher, in the correct pitch, no need for tuning up and down.

  • @TehAntti

he would have to play 2 frets higher an that would be a pain to shred even higher around the 24th fret..

  • @Kandurananda hell yeah especially cuz its on a double locking trem too

  • @Kandurananda This is why Petrucci simply have several guitars for each one :D

  • I love that guitar.

  • OMG tone i have to have it, i have a pod x3live is there any way i can duplicate that tone??

  • @Fleedd Line 6, right? I don't really like them, although they are great for solos... I used GR4 for this tone.

  • @Kandurananda Any chance we can get the patch? I think it would benefit with a bit more bass and a bit less treble with some presence.

  • @Kandurananda Can you tell me what program did you use to record guitar rig? Thanks.

  • @Kandurananda can you share your GR patches please?

  • @Kandurananda What string gauge are you using for 1 step down??

  • @Kandurananda Hm, man, which pedalboard do you recommend? I was thinking of buying a Line6 HD. Any help?

  • Got the same guitar as you, how do you get the neck pristine!?

  • great killer solo.... thumbs up.....

  • perfect..........

  • class

  • Nice man... Petrucci is awesome... =D

  • awesome vid as always
