It is said that Beethoven described this whole symphony as facing your fate and finally overcoming it in movement 4....But in movement 1, it is fate knocking on your door............
I love the song! It's kinda sad, this was about him going deaf! The beats like the ones in this song are common when you go deaf. He described it was fate knocking on the door. Most of his compositions he never heard!
thank Haydn lol, without him, Beethoven would have never been achieved recognition, thus we would not be hearing his music we do today... sad lol. Anyways.. yes and amazing coda lol
Just one slight mistake, that is easy to make, in your description. It says "which initially is played by the string section", that is almost correct. In fact, it is played by the strings and clarinets.
Ooo, Haitnik. A nice recording. I am planning to buy the Bernstein/Karajan/Kleiber recordings. I do have the Toscanini. I never knew Haitnik recorded this. The spacing at the beginning is different than what I usually listen to. I usually consider Haitnik my Shostakovich conductor. He's a great Shostak. conductor.
one of the best here on youtube
thank you

Perhaps the greatest coda in any symphony. Fantastic and full of life. What would music be were it not for Beethoven?

Played way too fast ! Probably because they had to fit it on a single CD...

The song itself is supposed to be played fast. It uses a 2/4 time signature but the tempo is so fast that a quarter note sounds like an eighth note.
