When Obama proclaim you have a right to health care, He means other things. 1st they want unlimited power to force others to provide U with health care. They also mean that U have no right to manage & provide for your health care, but that which is provided & approved by the government. The Fed Govt. decides what treatments U can & cannot have. They demand your doctor provide the Gov all personal details of your health care ! Whatever this is, its not protecting your rights.

Also, I believe that donations isn't the right way to go. Yes, the will to help is wonderful, and the will to support the people who struggle is great. But, I would rather pay the donations as taxes and then the government could use the money to do it more efficiently.

Executives won't give up their million dollar yearly salaries and bonuses, Res. MDs want to make more money than nurses because they have an inferiority complex. Nurses want a lot of money for the large amount of work they do. Hospitals cost a lot to operate and must follow city, state, and federal regulations.

But for every 1 patient, there's about 20 or 30 people, in various ways, to care for that patient. Obviously, the Big 3 used to be a private sector until gov't bailouts, but HC is practically gov't subsidized. But bailing out a smaller, troubled auto industry is a lot easier to bail out than the entire U.S. HC system.

The plan we have in effect right now, allows 82-87% of our countrymen, as you call them, to be covered with health insurance without someone else having to pay for someone else. I work for a living also. 50 hours a week, every week and I still cannot afford the premiums that the health insurance industry sets forth. Does that mean if I get cancer they should just let me suffer and die?

Where is the accountability for the judges who find in favor of the crazy people who sue doctors? Here, in America, she can get into her Dr. in 2 weeks and she can have the x-ray completed in 1 week. She said the needed a colonoscopy and called the Dr. (here in the U.S.- this was this past March 2009) and she scheduled and completed the procedure in 2 wks! She was ecstatic saying that in Canada it would have taken 4 months to get the procedure completed. Ida says that the U.S. system

I have neighbors (Bob and Ida) who lived in Canada. Ida is originally from Indonesia and she married a Canadian and therefore moved to Canada. She lived in Canada for 15 years before divorcing and marrying Bob (who is American) and that is how they came to be my neighbors.
Since the Dr. doesn't know your health history, you have to tell them, but they don't have a lot of time to spend with you so you are in and out of their office. Also you cannot pick the Dr. you want, you get the one that is available. The same goes for specialists, you cannot pick whether you see a specialist or which one. You get the Dr. that is available whether they are a good Dr. or not. Sophie says that the U.S. Healthcare System is better in her opinion.

I think reform would be great for the US. The government does run a health care system in the US, the VA veterans hospital. I went there as a teenager to see my dad before an operation. People were crying out for help. I asked the nurse and she said these guy was always doing that. A real torture chamber.

Obama passed his insurance plan (it saves no money in healthcare). It took a lot of corrupt deals, arm-twisting, threats and other bribery ($560M to Stupak for the final 6 votes). And nobody read the bill.
Over a month later, we find out that Obama lied during the 'summit'. The CBO has stated that premiums will go up 10 - 13%. Also, we find out that other costs will go up--more taxes to the MIDDLE CLASS.
I won't vote for a democrat until the healthcare bill is undone & real reform takes place.

Joe Biden donated an average of $300 WORTH OF USED CLOTHES each year. Polls show that those that vote republican donate far more than those that vote democrat.... The gov't sold our share in Chrysler for $800 million, leaving the taxpayer with only a $500 million loss. If sold as IPO on its current prices of $33 to $36 a share, we'd have loss $10 billion investment in GM.

Executives won't give up their million dollar yearly salaries and bonuses, Res. MDs want to make more money than nurses because they have an inferiority complex. Nurses want a lot of money for the large amount of work they do. Hospitals cost a lot to operate and must follow city, state, and federal regulations.

@farfarawayfromyou The auto industry costs a lot of money because for every 1 UAW line worker, 6 or 7 people had jobs relating to the vehicles made by the Big 3. But for every 1 patient, there's about 20 or 30 people, in various ways, to care for that patient. Obviously, the Big 3 used to be a private sector until gov't bailouts, but HC is practically gov't subsidized. But bailing out a smaller, troubled auto industry is a lot easier to bail out than the entire U.S. HC system.

You're right...Health care reform IS good idea in the US...just not this proposed plan. The plan we have in effect right now, allows 82-87% of our countrymen, as you call them, to be covered with health insurance without someone else having to pay for someone else. Here, in America, she can get into her Dr. in 2 weeks and she can have the x-ray completed in 1 week. She said the needed a colonoscopy and called the Dr. (here in the U.S.- this was this past March 2009) and she scheduled and completed the procedure in 2 wks! She was ecstatic saying that in Canada it would have taken 4 months to get the procedure completed. Ida says that the U.S. system

Since the Dr. doesn't know your health history, you have to tell them, but they don't have a lot of time to spend with you so you are in and out of their office. Also you cannot pick the Dr. you want, you get the one that is available. The same goes for specialists, you cannot pick whether you see a specialist or which one. You get the Dr. that is available whether they are a good Dr. or not. Sophie says that the U.S. Healthcare System is better in her opinion.

I think reform would be great for the US. I figure you missed the point. Unlike so-called "Obama -care," there's NO OPTION to our Socialist Auto Ins System other than impoundment/jail, etc, silly. And the selection of those "private" companies who write policies in a given state is limited. Plus, those 3rd party companies will certainly want your soc sec # to send to 4th party companies (Trans Union, Equifax, Experion) to gather your credit hx. Hey, I figured all that out for you, afterall.

What's really interesting is that so many supporting this have no clue how insurance works. But if you told them that their next door neighbor, who has such a poor driving record he can barely keep his license, will get the exact same rate he does, with a perfect driving record, you would see the outrage when they realize they are subsidizing high risk behavior. That's why they want to force low risk people into the pool. This is how the health care bill really works, but they are blind to it.

The Obama plan hopes to offer a public option, it's called competition, the thing Republicans claim to support. It's what you have in a truly free market, you have choices, and if the people choose the public option the private Insurance companies will have to lower their prices to compete, or they go out of business. That's called a free market: what part of that do you not understand?

The fact is, you simply cannot have a govt plan "competing" with the same private plans in a market that said govt regulates. It would be like playing poker and one person got to look at everyone's cards. It will kill choice.

What choice do the 40-60 million uninsured and largely poor Americans have?

If people in the US really wanted health insurance, they would get rid of cable or internet. Or they would buy a used car so they could afford a monthly insurance premium. We should leave it up to the people. Not a politician who will always have the best healthcare.

people on welfare and disability will skyrocket because they will bug doctors all day everyday to wrongfully say that their disabiled so longer waits at doctors offices the rationing of healthcare will make sure that countless people especialy old folks die taxes goes up nobody will want to become a doctor and deal with the lines of people and they won't make as much money so longer waits at doctors offices and countless numbers of peoples jobs gone this will ruin most insurance companies

I do no want!! Obama's version of healthcare reform. I strongly oppose any plan that includes a "Public Option"
Obama has already told several lies like proclaiming no new taxes on people making less than $250,000.00 per year & then he promptly signed a bill into law increasing the tobacco tax. A tax increase for approximately 20 million Americans whose median income is $38,000 per year. He promised no pork & then signed a budget that contained $8.5 billion in pure indisputable pork.
