I just saw the national debt clock recently and it's approaching 12 trillion dollars at the moment.. it's increasing at about $1million every 30 seconds =O
Unfortunately, not even the black death made a significant enough impact to the world population (percentage-wise). We're going to need a looooot of natural disasters in order for equality to start rolling. Even more unfortunately, the amount of natural disasters do not respond to population amount/sprawl/density/etc. Plagues could, though. Yay plagues!

For the entire Earth, this has been estimated to be anywhere from 1 to 10 billion people, so we're really treading the line right now. The problem is that it's just not practical to reduce the human population by natural disasters or even wars. I think even WWII caused a negligible blip on the number of people. The only solution is to have fewer babies.
I was thinking about fewer babies but then some people might not like the idea of restrictions. Also, in poorer countries where there is no pension, their children are basically their welfare for when they get old and can't look after themselves.
And a final problem, how do you police the entire world so no one has more than two babies?

I was thinking about fewer babies but then some people might not like the idea of restrictions. Also, in poorer countries where there is no pension, their children are basically their welfare for when they get old and can't look after themselves.
