@92796Apollo im not sure what gauge strings mark uses. I use different ones, I change thme up sometimes. Normally I use 10s on my main guitars, and I use a custom set of 10s/11s on one of my other guitars for lower tunings

@92796Apollo Mark uses a skinny top/heavy bottom set of strings. (the brand escapes me...but I use Ernie Balls). The 3 high strings are from 10's (.010, .013, .017)...and the lower three are from 11's (.030, .042, .052). On his DVD he said he gets both 10's and 11's and makes his own set, which is silly, because several top brands sell that EXACT configuration. Great for that heavy, chunky bottom, with crisp, bendable highs. Cuz let's face it, 10's are THAT much easier to bend, hahaha!

Then again I just use .11's from Ernie Ball (Power Slinkys are some of the best feeling/sounding strings I've used.) In any case, I've kinda outgrown wanting to sound like Tremonti, I want to set my own sound.

@Jaymzrock Mark uses that gauge in D'Addario... they started making them for him (if I remember correctly). Also, Ernie Ball makes a set that gauge called Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom, I use them on one of my guitars.

@AlterTremonti Hell yeah I use the EB Skinny/Heavy. I dig how they hold down the low end without having 11s or 12s in the top.  I know it sounds kinda pansy, but I just can't bend the hell out of strings that thick, unless I'm tuned like 2 steps down. I used to play a lot of Drop A# / Standard C stuff (In Flames, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin) Did I mention you are a killer player? You don't need to hear it from me, but you rock man.

@NeverLookBack1993 I learn some parts by tab and others by ear. I used the Blackbird tab book as a starting point, but it is not 100% accurate, close but not exact. If you want to learn the song though I would recommend getting the tab book.

He helps a ton though because he breaks down his riffs in segments and shows them up close at a slow and up to speed pace. Plus the book inside the case has all of his hand written tabs for his solos. I recomend to any Tremonti fan grab the DVD if u want 2 learn from the best.
