Either the tascam is clipping, bad mic on the guitar, or a flat battery. You may also be clipping the tracks on your DAW. Could be the cable too. Shitty cables can distort. Try using another guitar or test the guitar on an amp. Also, Reaper is far better IMHO.
nice one mate...a little help....I bought a Tascam US122mk2 , and when i connect my electro acoustic guitar to the guitar input i get these distortion( like the one in an old cassette or lp have) after recording (..i use adobe audition 3)..... any ideas?? many Thanks : )
@brandonandkyletv Ive never played that Washburn model, but I know they make good guitars. I prefer the traditional design of the Washburn over the Ibanez, so I would go for that. Call me old, but traditional looking guitars look better imo. Plus, it looks like the washburn costs more. The Ibanez sounds shitty without an amp
@wanna31 I would never use a amp sim for acoustic. For electric guitar, the "signature" sounds exit from the speakers. For acoustic guitar, the "signature" sounds exit at the guitar. Any mixing/mastering effects should be achieved via stable well known VST effects. The post recording effects on the top sim's are for convenience, IMHO. For years, many pro musicians recorded clean bass/guitar/acoustics via D.I since there was no need to emulate an amps/speakers/mikes to get a decent sound.
@wanna31 PS: That said. There maybe an amazing sound via a sim that is far better than dry D.I sound. But, as a general rule, I beleive any D.I recorded guitar should sound great before applying effects. I fully beleive in the KISS principle. Adding more and more variables to a recording only makes it harder why a recording is not working, and makes it almost impossible to re-produce results. ie: if you get a great sound, you want to be able to reproduce that sound for multiple recordings.
@agrlfmtx Thanks girl. You play amazing music as it is anyway. Im just bored shitless so I play stupid music. there are so many amazing musicians out there. To tell you the truth, im so much of a grunge player. Id rather just play Nirvana than anthing complex. Nirvana were gods to me. I loved pearl jam and soundgarden. Im a grunge man at heart.
@EpiphoneGear I need to record my dad playing guitar and send it to you....I have been around A LOT of good musicians and MISTER.....you am pretty dern good! Don't sell yourself SHORT by any means. I think we need to start a band and mix your GRUNGE with my GRASS and call it Grungegrass!! It could be the sound folks are looking for! LOL (no seriously);)
@twiggymac Sorry, I dont know. I just use a bunch of allen keys. I think im using one I got from IKEA with some furntiture :-) I set my neck to slack to loose. ie: I make the necks slack, and then I only pull back the neck if I _really_ need too. Pulling on the neck causes tuning and buzzing problems. Its better to either get light strings or tune down a semitone or tone. The guitar virbrates better when its loose. If you have medium strings, then just tune down and use a capo. It sounds great!
@MissNinjaPenguin ooooo, sorry. I dont know. They are lights I think. They are not electric strings, so yes, some are bronze (ie Yellow in colour). Which I could help ya. Keep playing! Guitar is a fantasic instrument
@tulbowin Thanks for the comment, but, um, they sound like shite unplugged. Full bodied acoustics always sound better. But, are harder to record and play live with. Unless you own a dual acoustic/electric guitar. ie: a decent acoustic with quality mikes. But, then most companies just stick anything in these guitars. Makes you wonder who is testing the guitars before selling them? Or, why arnt guitar being made better? Its not a cost issue. Its a legal patent issue
@EpiphoneGear Hey again. Tried a decent full aqoustic a friend of mine had the other day, it has a somehwat bigger body and sounds better than the Talman indeed so i guess i'l give you right on that one. But i still think the Talman sounds nice, gave it a set of new strings the other day and hooked it up on a little cube i had around.. the small speaker struggles with the lower tones naturally but all in all i find the sound more than satisfying for this price range id gig this guitar np. :)
@gelsomaniac Its a Ibanez TCY10 Talman. A little over 10 years old. Only has trebble, bass and volume. Sounds like shite if you dont plug it in. But, gives a decent warm sound, all be it a little "electric". Ive used it though guitar amps and PA's and it seems to handle both. The key is to keep the eq's flat.
Hey Derek, really loved this awesome original music... back for another listen!! Also wanted to mention that Emily Bt @guitarrx3girl gets credit for sharing your music and channel ... Thanks Em!! ♥ You always know how to pick 'em!
@vv7 cool, thanks guys. I put as much information about the recording in the description, so hopefully that helps people with their recordings. The sound can be reproduced with very little money. Again, cheers for the great comments.
OK.... I was forewarned that I was going to LOVE, LOVE this one.. and guess what I wasn't steered wrong... This is TRULY INCREDIBLE... going in it's own tab and faving.. :D
@guitarrx3girl Thanks guitar girl. I was writing these little guitar pieces when I was 19-ish just for practice since I couldn't play any classical pieces and all the books had these lame guitar exercises that sounded like shite. I find these are the tunes you pull out for ya family. Im not sure grandma would really get the whole van halen thang.

You rock!
I have the same guitar...
Is it possible to make it sound like an electri guitar through an amp ?
sagokolikali 1 year ago
@sagokolikali Yea, Ive seen a lot of musicians do that. A little light distortion sounds nice. Also, using a slide gives you an earthy "hippy" tone:
Look into bands like: The Brian Jones Massacre, Ben Harper, Wheatus, Beck, The Breeders, John Butler Trio, The Cruel Sea.
There are many more. Those will get you started.

i Got one and it sounds just great unplugged for a guitar in this price range.
It's sturdy as a yamaha and its comfortable to play on. Never had any problems with it.
Great playing by the way epiphone :p
