  • looks like building 7

  • Hmm, I still wish I knew how that stupid giraffe works.

  • Large scale detailed miniatures with digital compositing is the best way.CGI everything looks CGI everything.

  • The frames to those models are the dopest things.

  • Very interesting! Even without sound.... yeah.

  • Excellent

  • that's cool and and you actually wrote a scriptm and had models and FX, good story, I think you need my music,

  • Everyone is so hypnotized by CGI. CGI is just a tool and not always the right choice for effects. There is so much bad CGI in films today. The final results using this model technique were stunning.

  • @JerrysFunhouse CGI can be bad when overused. It also has advantages like building a computer generated set or filling in the backdrop with lots of people in a battle scene such as lord of the rings.

  • @FallofDarkness55

not to mention if there's a messup in the demolition all you have to do is press the reset button and change the bad parts. probably much cheaper too

  • Im doing a similar thing

  • So much effort to construct this building for then making it collapse!!

  • Wow this is cool

I never realized there was a Place called Tipton where was it?

  • that was one of the ideas behind the making of sydney opera house as it's concrete blocks were placed over high tension rods

  • great insight to an area i havent looked into. also did you accidentally kill the huntsman in your other video

  • the spider got away, and she will be out for revenge!

  • Merve10495 your a fucking idiot.and a fucking grizzly bear

  • yet another high IQ tuber!

  • @leokimvideo is it possible to get these effects somewhere? can u put them in a utube video with just the green screen and buildings?

  • Great stuff. It really is amazing how they do these things. :)

  • thankyou sir great vid! still cant get "daddy be carefull" out my head lol! did you ever find that spider

  • interesting, i thought they just blow up a solid model. never knew about the string.

  • Just Crazy!

Great to see this ;) But a shame too as there are no secrets anymore. The next generation will be a bunch o know it alls.

  • interresting video.

    love stuff like that!

  • What is the name of the company or group that did this? And where in Sydney are they based? I have a decent amount of money i want to spend on an effect for a film i'm working on.

  • Great effects!

without seeing this I would have sworn it was CGI!

  • @Aussie50

Thats why I like to remind everyone sometimes there are models at play.

The aspect this video does not cover are those who composite this material, in a word they sew it all together.

  • @leokimvideo I think a good question to ask yourself is "what part of our post causes it to look fake?" and then seriously reviewing that piece to see if you can avoid destroying your hard work with real models.

  • @Aussie50 I Know that it wil be sadly about that but often the CGI that you admire is made in the same way.

  • @Aussie50 I just sent the link to Facebook saying just that. Amazing what you can do with a cracking miniature and slow motion shooting and some pyros. Quality. Totally looks like state of the art CGI.

  • This is the work of mini me Osama Bin Laden.

  • nice

  • Very nice! All that work for only a few seconds of film.

Just shows how much effort goes into this.

What was the advert for anyway?

    Good video ;3

  • Awesome stuff 1000* Many thanks for sharing this. Kind regards :-)

  • Good informative video.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • it was an inside job

    controlled implosion lol

  • You do put the colapse in slo-mo right?

    Great video!

  • Wow...good to know this things. You never know when i may use this in a film. Thanks for sharing wih us...now...i can go try to blow my house up..:))) In a miniature scale..:D Have a great weekend.

  • fascinating chap! I love seeing how miniture effects are achieved!

    Tom

  • I had no idea that you could achieve those effects using minatures. Thats amazing Leo. I will look differently at disaster movies from now on. :) Voice over gets better and better.

  • awesome if i could rate 10 i would...

  • stfu

  • ???

  • Its 3:43 in the morning here :(

  • You did an awesome job here, Leo.....

  • Nice - since I was a wee little Kraut I was fascinated by how people make stuff look like real for the movies (read: special effects) and it never left me. :) And it's good to know that even today not everything is done by cgi.

"big miniatures" - the Lord of the Rings people called those "Bigatures". ;)

  • Very interesting. Thanks for the upload.

  • wow how are they able to put the bulidings in the background of the commercial

  • That's pretty cool. I didn't know they still used models for special effects nowadays. Goodness me, I wonder if the late David Mitton used this process for his Thunderbirds films.

  • Nice Job!

    I love it.

  • Cool!
