As a bit of a tangent, you jumped right into Final Cut Pro? Were you on someone else's computer? If not, what were you doing with Final Cut Pro software that you don't know how to use? That's a pricey investment to "plunge" into without prior knowhow.

my normal 7key style is left hand plays key 1 and right hand plays everything else. This was the initial default because most of the drum stuff was on 1 and the rest of the melody was on the other 6 keys, so it was easier to separate out in my head, but as i started to try to push the envelope of harder things, i got stuck. the habit is too engrained in me now - if i'm going to play 7key seriously ever, i'm starting over on the 2p side with a completely different technique.

What gets me is that you can't follow the scales on 7k, yet nail them at 14k. I mean theoretically shouldn't they be harder (on 14k)?
First time I've seen a double player that can play far beyond his 7k skills.

Your skill at playing 14key is beyond me. I can AA the hyper 7key chart but I know I would flatline 14k hyper so fast... Well done.
