  • This is amazing!!! Being one of the kids that went to the Fun Gallery, a graff writer and a born and raised NYC kid... I can say this,,, WE LOVED PATTI AND ALWAYS WILL!!! Thanks for taking a risk and see the beauty and not only seeing it but embracing it.... NYC is nowhere near where its was in the 80's... CBGB's is a clothing store now and forty deuce was truned into Disneyland... I miss my NYC!!!

  • patti is sooo fab ... very inspiring ... we want to see more of her

  • This is a fantastic short piece to what needs to be a much longer major documentary. Anita Rosenberg

  • I was best friends with Anders Grafstrom and met Patti Astor casually while filming "The Long Island 4". Anders loved her and invited me to a party she was having in a loft on the Bowery. I remember a tiny sculpture of a man in an electric chair. If you pushed a button he would be electrified. I loved it. Patti was insane. I count her as one of the most creative people I have ever met.

  • @Tomster2007 The sculpture of the man in an electric chair is by Patti's ex-husband Steven Kramer.

  • Patti, thanks for being who you are and doing what you did. I didn't see "Wild Style" until a few years ago, but I remember the sense of awe and wonder I felt as a white Midwestern kid in the early '80s seeing rappers and break dancers on late-night USA and MTV. It was worlds away geographically and culturally from what I grew up with, but it still spoke to me. So I'm thankful to you and to all the real people you knew, who were just living their lives and making great art out of them.
