When I was at uni, it was always toasters burning the bread that set the alarms off!

The most modern fire doors here are magnetically attached to the wall and held open, they only close when the alarm goes off. But there are still lots of ordinary ones. Nice and safe. Good exercise too!

2. Is the Crime rate really high in London even thought they do not allow firearms? 60k to 120k Coppers in London alone... WOW I know LAPD only has like 10k.

London has a high violent crime rate, not a high murder rate... your never to far away from a fight with some angry youths! Especially on a friday/saturday night because the drinking age is 18, under age drinkers are a lot younger... loads of crazy people here!

No one calls the police bobbys, older people tend to call them coppers. But most young people call them pigs, the filth or feds depending on what part of the city they come from.

The carry like CS spray, A metal asp thing, and i think they are trialing tazers. Only specially trained armed police carry them.

A lot of people don't trust the police over here, so giving them guns would be like giving them a license to kill!
