it's a very good book--quinn asks important questions about the roots of the many problems we face as a society and as individuals--it's very mind-opening
oh this is really good because it's non-fiction, in a very accessible format--each chapter is only a page or so long. 'story of b' is also great, and derrick jensen's work also extends the conversation nicely. thanks for dropping by.
Don't forget the "Story of B" and his latest, "If they Give You Lined Paper, Write Sideways". Oh, "Tales of Adam" is cool too.
But don't stop there... I think the book taht blows it all out of the water is Derrick Jensen's "Endgame" Volumes one (The Problem of Civilization) AND Volume two (Resistance)
i LOVE "the story of B" My library has issues with getting the books i want. When my current situation changes, I'm making a trek to Hyde Bros. used books, to stock up on some necessary reading material.
i need a different copy of the Tao Te Ching, too. Thanks for the suggestions. i have a running list.
Ok, what's so special about that "Beyond Civilization"?
the guy rambles about how Oprah should be plugging that book but he NEVER explains WHY or what the book is about.

Another book for me to read. I've read "Ishmael" and "My Ishmael" but that's all I've read of Quinn's work.
