Thor, Cap, X-men, GL! Really excited about seeing Hulk next year in the Avengers! Actually seeing all the hero's in one movie is going to be epic!!! Looking foreword to Dark Night Rises and curious to see how Spiderman turns out!
when i saw the trailer , i completely change CA into my favourite hero.
but i have to say the plot was rushy . it started when CA wanted a new suit . then everything became like so fast . busting ppl here and there . and they didnt show the development of his outfit , his vehicle , wth . so hasty .
poor peggy , they had a date . that really made me sad .
red skull wasnt really that scary or badass . just another regular villian with great makeup but still can be tolerated .
@eldonbusiness2 Yeah they did have to cram a lot in. Rumour has it Sharon Carter who is a shield agent, and Peggy's niece in the comic books, could be Steve Rogers' love interest in the Avengers.
@dinolast i was really like so sad when he woke up after 70 years and said he had a date . oh my =( . i just hope CA will find his love , just dun let him left hanging and keep saddening about his past lover .
saw it today. i thought it was great. i really thought it would suck but it really liked it. all the actors gave good performances. that red skull character was awesome. hugo weaving is a great actor. i thought the ending was ok. I would have to say my favourite superhero film this year was x men first class. captain america comes close though. Thor was great. havent seen green lantern yet.
@youliveyoudie I agree I was surprised at how good it was. I agree the ending could have been better, it did feel a bit rushed at the end to make it fit with the Avengers
Really want to see this, I loved Thor but I never got the opportunity to see X-Men & Green Lantern, which is gutting for me but it's all changed now I'm a dad, Cars 2 instead for me. Definitely got to see the Captain though, I'm glad people have been enjoying the film, I can't wait for my HT figure of him to come now as well :)
@Whamdame I am lucky I guess, My Mum always says yes if I need a babysitter so I can see these films on the day they come out, or my Wife lets me go on my own. I used to hate going on my own in the past, but now I have done it a few times, it's not so bad
X-Men: First Class was my favorite superhero movie this summer, and I include Harry Potter in that group (he's not from a comic book, but still). When puts that one ahead for me is the ending and what happens to Kevin Bacon...woah.
I'm not big on this movie. I like Chris Evans when he plays wisasses, seeing him play an earnest, sincere person is like seeing Aaron Eckhardt play Harvey Dent...he didn't fit that character either.
Normally I love Hugo Weaving, but he didn't do anything for me here. I did like Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones.
@CineRam I think Hugo did the best he could, there was an awful lot to put into this movie to link it to the Avengers. I am surprised that you say that about Aaron Eckhardt too, as I found his Harvey Dent one of the highlights of the Dark Knight. Maybe because you have seen him play the sleaze bag so many times he has become typecast in your eyes?
Captain America was alright. Better than Thor, but I didn't really care for Thor much anyway. I felt Chris Evans was pretty wooden and found myself looking at my watch a lot. I did however enjoy Tommy Lee Jones' character and wish I saw more of him!
@dinolast I think both Captain America and Thor are good films if your into both characters. Personally I'm not. My favorite super hero is Batman and I enjoy the Schumacher Batman films. Most people loath them. I think it just comes down to if you like the hero or not. Great review none the less!!!
My favorite from best to least is X-Men First Class, Thor, Capt.America, then Green Lantern. But the Avengers teaser at the end of Capt America really blew me away! I really can't wait to see these characters interact and each take center stage in a team movie like the Avengers! Should be really fun next year!
@tubernery Yeah I think all the Superhero films had good characterisation. I also liked how Magneto allowed his hatred to make him become like the man who he sought vengeance against in X-men first class
AS for Capt America, I really enjoyed it. I loved the retro feel of it all, and you can never go wrong with killin Nazi's - especially top secret science divisions lol
Overall it was solid. Fits in nicely with the style of Thor and Ironman. For me though X-men First Class was the best and sharpest comic movie of the year easily. As for Green Lantern, well that was just cartoony and not that great.
I really liked captain america.......more than thor. Sorry, but thor didn't do it for me. Anyway, are you gonna get the hot toys captain america figure? If not, what do you think about it? Thanks and have a great day :-)
@MissQueenVee Yeah me too. I now have great expectations for the Avengers film. The trailer on the end of Captain America looked great. Tommy Lee jones was really good, I loved his deadpan expression
@dinolast Words of wisdom :) hihi, captain america was my most anticipated hero movie of the year and still Thor turned out number one :) second is captain america. And yeah avangers is looking really good. Next year is again a spoiled year for us :P avengers, spiderman, batman etc
Saw captain america yesterday. I thought it was good but found even xmen 1st class better for some reason. I liked the way everything linked up to lead into the avengers
@chrisjwebb1 I think X-men did a great job with Magneto and Xavier, and Kevin Bacon was great as the villain. It's hard to choose between the Marvel films as they were all good
i watched this in 3d it was GREAT! 9/10

@emarae Me too. Also it's going to be great to have Hulk back on the big screen. The design for him in the new movie looks awesome
dinolast 7 months ago
I enjoyed all the superhero films! It seems the central theme that caused a bit of a tear-jerker was humility.
1. Thor: Thor's encounter with Destroyer, knowing he'll die.
2. Captain America: Rogers' response to whether he wants to kill Nazis and the grenade scene.
3. Green Lantern: Hal realizing he isn't fearless, but summons the courage to control those fears.
