  • maybe the towel is for grip?

  • I don't get it, what's the towel for? The hooks looks great but how does the towel help?

  • @punktheman its for grip

  • @punktheman I say it helps get that follow through whipping motion plus its adding weight

  • What towel?

  • i guess this works if ya say so.i donr remember frazier doin this tho[he had a good hook]....i prefer a good old fashioned heavy bag and pads.i mean how many japanese guys hit like frazier..or tyson or duran?...ill take a heavy bag and LOTS OF DAILEY INTENSE PRACTICE

  • @dempsey981 Actually i'm Pretty sure i remember Joe telling a story bout developing his hook as a kid had something to with a towel or a sock..

  • @crookedwiretap89 you know actually ,now that you mention it,joe and i were playing marbles as i recall, eating our lunches on the play ground, and he did bring up that towel thing, youre right.thats how joe fuckin did it!!!

  • @dempsey981 Lmao! i didn't mean he told me in person smart arse! I meant i herd him in an interview once. Lol

  • @crookedwiretap89 yea,its true,i can be a bit of a smart ass.frazier just had a great left hook,and if he learned it with a towel,so what.i miss smokin joe.

  • the idea here is that the towel will offer little resistance to the muscles that deliver the left hook. This would be the starting point of developing a left hook and developing your muscles in the left arm.

  • i don't get it

  • The Idea is to make the towel snap! like when you whip someone with a towel, it gives you more snap in the punch

  • how does this help??

  • @weedpussymoney321 If the towel makes a perfect curve, hook follows the right path, so it is being pulled in the best way! (sorry for bad english)

  • @sebaale91 i tried it and ended up smashing a picture lol i didnt anticipate how far the towel would whip around lol XD

  • you guys are ALL WRONG,I KNOW.When he snorts on the punch the towel is to wipe the snot off if any comes out.the japanese are very hygenic.

  • @dempsey981 wtf?

  • the only problem i see with his hook is that he follows through to much leaving himself open if he misses, oh and he keeps turning his head away. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE OPPONENT.

  • i wud knock him out

  • @thebrickfist Hey what ever helps your penis problem, keep thinkin' what ever it is you want tought guy haha

  • @thebrickfist No you would make him some sushi ..

  • what disturbs me is the lack of speed for someone so small. The technique doesn't generate much power neither, but still ok for a KICK boxer i guess

  • i have nothing to say about the towel, the only thing that distrubs me is that he follows his body with his head and his eyes, meaning he isn´t looking at his "opponent" he looks to the side. Not a good move.

  • All I need in order to beat this guy is dental floss over the eyes.

  • @emactivedotcom hahahahahahahahah

  • I don't understand what he's doing.

  • @Yieiuu then, you dont have to uderstand if you dont understand what he is doing here...

  • @michinco With the effort it took you to type that unhelpful shit, you could have just explained it. Shut the fuck up.

  • Is he trying to get the towel to move a certain way, for proper hook technique? or JUST for the grip strength.

  • Damn... All the fucking comments are nothing but quotes!

  • sunliveorio or other boxing people, what is the concept behind this? For the towel to travel in an arc? For it to 'snap'? etc?

  • towel for what?

  • @rootiest I'm going to assume it is for air resistance and maybe grip strength seeing that he put a bit of the towel in between his pinky.

  • @MeAndMyFamily1992 i guess.

  • @rootiest i guess it's for the extra 1lbs xD

  • what are those lines in the mirror for???? stance?

  • zenbu kono youtube no hito ha honto baka deshou

  • put that elbow down fatboy

  • nah this guy is a K-1 fighter in japan..hes good..so please amature boxers think u can beat this guy? stop trolling and saying u would knock him out..are u guys even qualified to k-1?

  • @BpRaver you silly imbercile

  • @gammastag oh yeah?? what makes u think i am? owh just another keyboard fighter in youtube..

  • @BpRaver lol k1 still exists?

  • @BpRaver most amature boxers, in sparring would beat many mma fighters, and muay thai fighters in boxingg mannnnnny

  • @hovohopar24 in boxing rules maybe ... but kickboxing or mma ? do your bobbing and weaving and catch a knee to the face or get your legs pulverized with lowkicks :)

  • @dirkloenie Yes i kno with mma rules they would disotroy a boxer, but boxing rules amature guys would beat mma fights in sparring

  • @dirkloenie Whatever bro, even MMA guys are bobbing and weaving these days. Just check out how slick A.Silva has been in his last couple fights, and look at how GSP is fighting, all stand-up with a double jab and overhand right. You can use almost anything these days if you are good enough. Boxing technique is on the rise in MMA.

  • @tripleVVV3 It's definitely on the rise but even the best boxing in MMA is still amateurish by boxing's standards

  • @BpRaver listen, i bet a lot of amatuer boxers could beat this guy, at boxing rules! not kickboxing though odviously. alls boxers do is train their hands, so of course their going to be much better with their hands then just about any k-1 fighter, it's only common sense. again, not trying to be a dick man.

  • @sk8forlife90 true but in a fight situation like on the street this guy would destroy a boxer

  • @956crazyman19 why would you say that?

  • @sk8forlife90 cause fighting is more than just punching he is a k1 fighter his leg kicks would wear down a boxer he would land them all day

  • @956crazyman19 not if he's on the outside he wont. if a boxer keeps pressuring the kickboxer, he's not gonna land very well kicks, and you can't kick on the move very well. the boxer can land a good punch and bam, lights out. anything can happen, you can't just say a kickboxer will win everytime, that's ignorant.

  • @sk8forlife90 never said that i said this guy not every kick boxer and staying on the outside is not what you want to do with a kick boxer legs have a longer reach than arms

  • @956crazyman19 either way to say this guy would kill every boxer is just ignorant. not true at all.

  • @sk8forlife90 true but he would win the majority of the time maybe unless its a pro

  • @956crazyman19 you don't know that. and his hands are no where near a boxers.

  • @sk8forlife90 no of course not but like it said theres more to a street fight than punching

  • @BpRaver agree, everyone is so fuckin tough behind their computers

  • @BpRaver Okey, he might be a K-1 fighter but his left hook isn't good at all. And yes he would probably beat me up.

  • thats a pretty bad hook...

  • towel is for throwing it cause he cant throw a left hook

  • throw that then get checked with a right BOOOM

  • Comment removed

  • Towelie says always bring a towel with you! :D

  • i think he's training to keep his last few fingers tight.

  • wtf did I just watch -.- ? Just wasted 40 sec of my life watching bullshit !

  • what the fuck are you trying to do ?

  • HAHAAHAHAAHAH U FUCKING POOFTER. I WOULD FUCK U UP U TRY HARD

  • I can even do that witha dildo

  • you guys clearly know nothing about boxing. there are many effective ways to throw a left hook and this one is an overhand. if holding a towel helps then go for it. dont be so critical when you don't know shit

  • totally wrong technique, elbow should never be higher than your fist.

  • @Vassago879 actualy it should in some cases it gives more impact just saying

  • @Vassago879 Your stupid, its supposed to be higher than the fist, that way if he misses, the elbow lands dumbass.

  • @TagTeam7

ahahaha moron then it isnt hook hahahah

  • @jjcool117 hes rolling the shoulder so it guards the left side of his face. if your in close you want that shoulder up.

  • guys it say why he uses the towel in the description. it adds air resistance, so to hold on to the towel will require a stronger grip. granting you a stronger punch.

  • Maybe how to dry a towel with a left hook?

  • Why is everyone not satisfied? The movement of hips is correct, keeps his guard up. Look at his left foot how it turns with him when he punches.. This will give your punch +50% more power.

So please people, if you don't know the correct techniques.. Just watch and don't talk. Oess

  • @Mo8787 he is shit. a korean fucking try hard.

  • that's a mexican hook

  • ?? :D

  • ... A towel is just for the sake to grip something in your hand, do you ever read descriptions? He could have anything else in his hand - it wouldn't matter, so please mr pros (keyboard warriors) who sit near a pc and criticise others - go outside and train.

  • @tomasvtk Ha ha ha (keyboard warriors)...lol

  • Its cuz he broke his hand...rehab technique.. angle of the punch is still off so he'll prob. break it again.

  • Whatever works for you i guess..

  • This is just dumb. I don't get why people try to be so exotic. Shadow box, spar or hit a bag. The towel is useless. It just attracts attention. Nothing else. His form is crap.

  • @lee1977 he trains with the best fighters in the world. World champions. But you obviously are a bigger expert. Thanks for your input keyboard warrior.

  • is that sound with their mouths nessary? FUCK!!!!

  • @viyark You are suppose to release the air in your lungs when you punch, it's what all boxers (should) do.

  • @computer7889 - not lungs diaphragm - You got much more power.

  • @iApna Oh yeah, a diaphragm. Thanks.

  • Well the towel is used for his grip consistency throughout the punch making sure he doesnt let up his grip which could result in breaking his hand. Also if you actually tried with the towel it does create some wind resistance which im sure would help with speed and power almost like running with a parachute on your back.

  • Linus!!!

  • I think the towel leaves a sort of pathway that shows the trajectory of his punch,it can be a sort of precision training i would believe, i'm nt too sure though

  • this is a mad technique thanx and wtf are you other guys going on about its a towl big woop

  • doesn't have much snap. pushing the punch

  • pretty good idea here. his hook isnt the greatest but thats not the point of the video.

  • i jack off into towels

  • you should wash yourself with that towel

  • y por q te pones esa garra en la mano????

  • maybe the towel creates resistance, kinda like training in 18oz gloves and fighting in 14oz so u find it easier to keep ya hands up

  • @slash46xx yes,THIS IS WHY (and also to increase propioception),other people just can´t think, and everybody here thinks he knows everything, this technique has more than 500 years old

  • @corporacionmonstruo yes mate simple physics haha

  • yeah wtf is with the towel ahaha

  • yeah wtf is with the towel ahaha

  • japanese boxers must suck balls....looks like an invitation to plant his face on the canvas.

  • What a wrong hook! He completely looses balance.

  • i dont see how this helps

and why would it help left hook but not right

  • bullshit!

    1. when u hit u should keep ure eyes on your oponent

    2. see his left leg.. it should be turned in order to add thr power of leg muscles to punching power.

    3. how the hands are fixed at an end position? dont to the same guys, you will be knocked out immediately after hitting ure "hook"

  • idiot

  • not trying to be a smartass here.. but IT SAYS IN THE DESCRIPTION

"we use towel for left hook,to grip much harder."

  • @wia729 well said haha people need to start reading the fucking titles and descriptions if they have questions on what the damn videos about.

  • @wia729 it also says "tokyo, japan".. my guess is they probably cant speak english the best

  • What does the towel have to do with anything? Unless for some reason gloves are too heavy for the shoulder still? Even to me that doesn't make sense.

  • should have thrown the towel in!

  • japanese are fucking stuck in their low guard stance with shoulders down and chin wide open.not even care how to punch properly

  • oh mein gott...eigentlich nettes video..aber dieses Werder Bremen Zeichen auf der Hose hats wieder komplett versaut!!!

    NUR DER BVB!

  • what does hook have to do with anything with towel? Hahaha soo funny

  • @fispo

i think u should read the description..

  • The king of the left hook, the great Joe Frazier used the same technique......NOT !

  • @gayguy696

okayy okayy u homo- listen loooooool

    punk ass ..

  • dude thats bull shit u think this gonna work like this

na na na i don't think so we are not watching

    a kid-cartoon movies ,, lool

dude stop it OKAYYY ,, if I'm in ur place i'll just go and delete the

    video from the YOUTUBE eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerr

loooooooool and ur elbow in wrong position by the wayy .,.

  • @MolliAfroo your head is in the wrong position btw, you should shove it up your ass.

  • nice skill...

  • Because it is a towel and will have resistance even slightly the drill in my opinion is to get the very end of the towel snapped all the way over so speed has to get the whole towel moving. It not for power it's for more speed and mechanics.

  • at 0:27 he dropped the towel!!! Did you see that crazyshit!!!

  • @junkdog772 ur pervert.

  • you guys are retarded. argue all you want. but this little exercise wont help you. there has to be "snap" in a hook. hard to do..when your standing completely still. and you'd have to be pretty much chest to chest to land a hook like this guy. you should work on throwing wider hooks during training which makes your actual hook..stronger..with more snap. do some curls..then try and box. thats the feeling you should get rid of.

  • shi shi

  • @fispo thats hella negative. it obviously adds resistance and drag to the punch. why u gotta get racist at the end? u talk tough, but seriously doubt ud say what u wrote to this guy here.

  • @fispo fight this guy, and then we see "japanese shit" you racist dumb fuck !

  • @fispo i think its so the guy can see the movement of his hand in the mirror. he can easily just look in the mirror to see what line his hand followed

  • @fispo It slighty increases drag when ur doing a hook :P

  • The towel is to see the motion of his hook.

  • dont see how a towel would train a hook that well. Perhaps offering some light resistance in the punch. Having a tight grip means virtually nothing unless youu are bare knuckle boxing as you should have wraps and tape plus a glove

  • I'm not sure I'd agree that gripping the towel is to replicate a glove. I think it's more as a means to work the muscles that improve your grip, so that when you throw a punch with intent, you form a tighter fist. Tighter fist means less chance of injury, and in a way, more damage.

The downward angle goes along with the concept of "between a rock and a hard place". Upward or inward angles let the body move up and back or just back, downward into the ground allows no give.

  • more like a top spin tennis serve

  • The towel is just to replicate having ur hand strapped when u shadow with no gloves ur fist is closed more than when u have gloves so it changes a bit having the towel keeps ur fist exactly as it wud if in a fight

  • just because you can do it doesnt mean you should do it !!!

  • I wonder if it is a good thing to go down when he finishes the moves? I would rather keep my hook in a straight line. know what I mean?

  • you have the standing right just need to lift ur shoulders and tuck ur head in.for power don't tip toe

  • You can train that without that thing in your hand...

  • wow dude some one get this guy a fucking nobel prize

  • @ratkiuuz because the towel gives a bit resistance and feels better than holding a wieght and better on the wrist joint too

  • @ratkiuuz yeh i dont understand either.... lol

  • Good stuff!

You need to have the proper technique to feel the effect of this training method.

It does help. Stop dissing the guy, just because you've never done it.

  • why a towel?? and he isnt keeping his arms flat. he is doin it on an angle downwards....

  • you are so stupid..he is doing very well..stop teaching .put over your burger try to do some think

  • What the fuck are you saying? Jjcool117 is right, hes doing it in an angle that is downwards which can be followed by an uppercut. Are you literally arguing for the sake of arguing?

  • @jjcool117 -- i'm thinking that the lines on the mirror are a guide that he's meant to 'float' the towel in relation to-- if he's rehabbing then he's also trying to rework his neural grooves.

    or not.

  • @androydnyc I think the lines are simply for body positioning. The red line being where his body should be and the green would be used for slipping punches.

  • @jjcool117 Year 45% down angle, that's because... then he can hit the nerves, behind the ear, where there is a big pressure point, its called Triple Warmer 17, that means, perfect hit - BLACKOUT big time !

  • @jjcool117 punching at a downward angle can cause more damage. watch throwing the perfect hook on my favorites.

my best guess is the towel would show the trajectory of the punch, like a tracer more or less

  • @jjcool117 heard about muay thai? and arching elbow or hook gives you alot of power

  • I've looked at hundred of left hook vids out there, and this is a good hook. The only adjustment that needs to be made is keeping the angle parallel to the ground instead of downward.

  • Dude you just want to hit him downwards.. chin is the place to be and iff you knock it downwards you can say good night to the other guy..

  • Its about hitting the other guy while keeping you own chin covered (With a parallel hook).

  • leave it to the asians to make everything all flowy and shit
