  • i want to play texas flood right next to the statue c:

  • SRV died... ...He's with the gods now... ...His music will stay here forever...

...He is a legend now... ...He will life forever when we keep listening to his music...

...a 16 years old SRV Fan.

  • He is my brother

  • my freind referred to stevies brother as jimmy ray--- i thought that was so cool--it was just spontanious

  • This is so amazing. I will have to get my picture made here next time I go on vacation back to see family in Texas. Stevie Ray Vaughan really made me open my mind up to blues, and made me want to try new things as a guitar player. The first time I heard him was on David Bowie's Let's Dance album, and after that I was hooked. His solos in Cat People and Let's Dance were killer! When I see a Fender Strat he is the only person I think about. Rest in Peace Stevie Ray.

  • steve I bow to you ... accompany my life with your music

  • first time i ever heard Stevie Ray Vaughan i was fast asleep ( after working all day ) he was on a late nite show ( cant remember the shows name) his singing & playing woke me up from a sound sleep - i asked my ex WHO IS THAT ? ! he said Stevie Ray Vaughn & i said that is the most beautiful sound that i have ever heard ! !

  • Can anyone forget seeing this genius? I know I can't. What a talent. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy him, still.

    Nice video tribute, OneFiveDoor:)

  • I still watch this video every year...thanks for creating such beauty

  • he looks like a real cowboy there, thats a good thing

  • Fucking Legend. At the top.

  • where does it stand?

  • I live in austin, and through my entire childhood, i've never known who he is, until i turned 15, I finally know who he is, he is Stevie Ray Vaughan, a God in music.

  • its god in copper form

  • Definitely God, but more likely bronze I think.

  • how did I not ever see this one before??? I love love love it...(but you knew I love SRV...sigh...) very well put together darlin'...we miss ya, man...fly on, fly on, my friend.

  • good video...im a BIG SRV fan...He made me pick the guitar back up,,,SRV 4 EVER

  • same here.......after i listened to Stevie...i m like..this is exactly what i have ever wanted to play...

  • Man I got chills for some reason when I saw this. Just the thought of hearing Stevie play while seeing a still statue of him.

  • Cool. Decent song, but I'd of used SRV's little wing.

  • wouldn't it be more suitable to use one of his own songs though?

  • You need a life

  • to hateSRV: SRV is GOD !!!!!

SRV will always be GOD !!!!!

what do you know about good music, FAGGOT?

you probably listen to pop, emo, country music, queer

  • ha ha i hope you get hit by a car you cock sucker

    S.R.V. FOR LIFE

  • wow, u r pathetic....

  • Proud of being an Austinate

  • fuck hateSRV and fuck the vandals, who disrespect SRV. Fans of SRV, hateSRV and vandals are cock suckers who can't respect the most ledgendary guitarist in the world.

But we can't sit here and complain we must protect the Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial Statue in Austin from the cock sucking vandals. cause this is texas. the vandals must watch their asses, cause my foot will be kicking them.

  • Very nice video .. thanks. To anyone who wants to "debate" SRV's contributions, I say pick up a guitar, sell it like he did -- or STFU!

  • GOD

  • hatesrv???he must be little rap retard !!!he isnt on my musical lvl of understanding or music theory or playing or anything to argue with him that stevie ray is best blues player...but hey i can say one thing to him "bitch get out the way"

  • i hatesrv sux he does not appreciate stevies music beacause hes jealous that stevie was a musical legend, and hes jealous he had a hot girlfreind, he loves stevies music but is to jealous to admit he is the greatest of all time

  • and rhirhicool many people think god told him he was gonna die i am one of those people there r many reasons y like the day before he died he told his freind about a nightmare he had and the night mare was him dieing and he told his freind dr john somthing nobody knows but him god and stevie but john did say it was so chilling and spooky that he does not want any one to know and he has never told any body and he knew he was gonna die i would not have been scared cuz god told k thats all........

  • I hope to make it to Austin some day and pay my respects to SRV at this statue...

  • Me too.

sit next to it, and play stevie songs.

  • do what i did and go to his grave and pay respects

  • i one day will

  • same here i know i will probably cry when i get there though. wish he was stil alive

    R.I.P.S.R.V.

  • Stevie rules...

I wish he was still around...It was so unfair the way he died...

    R.I.P S.R.V!

I bet he's jamming with Hendrix and jeff healey up in heaven right now

  • I think he was a very great guitar player. Just a question: are there statues of black guitarists (or musicians)in Austin or anywhere else in the country?

  • personally, stevie's statue is the only statue of a musician i've seen period, and it's here in austin because it was his favorite place.

believe me, black guitarists get plenty of respect.

  • I think he was a very great guitar player. Just a question: are there statues of black guitarists (or musicians)in Austin or anywhere in the country?

  • Dude, post some videos of you playing! oh thats right, you just suck at life.

  • Let me guess, you listen to fall out boy?

  • Oh, come on man. SRV did nothing his whole life but try to spread love and use his music to make others happy. Good taste in music? No such thing in my opinion. It's all about what makes you feel a certain way, and if SRV doesn't do that for you and somebody else does, well more power to you. I personally like SRV. Who are you to insult somebody for what they like?

  • Wow, get a life.

  • asshole.

  • i wish i had this statue in my garden

  • Dude.. Stevie Ray Vaughn died in the 90's.

And good music just went along with him..

  • Why can't the helicopter or plane of New Kids On The Block ever go down? It's always the great ones like SRV, Buddy Holly, Skynard, etc. I first saw SRV in S. Padre Island, Spring Break '87. I also saw him open for The Who. I would have seen him 100 times more had I known he'd be gone 3 years later. Sucks!

  • lol :)

  • stevie ray vaughan opening for the who had to been one unbelievable night.

  • saw him live in new zealand 1983

  • i live in Austin and i haven't seen the statue u yet its a shame my bro has though lucky

  • What a great video. What a shame this guy died. I hear that if you see the shadow of this statue on a sunny day, at a certain angle it shows him jammin. Miss you SRV!!

  • Maybe he's jammin' all the time.... we just get to see it when the sun is at a certain angle...... thank you for this touching piece OneFiveDoor

  • Just wanted to say I thought this was very tastefully done.

  • Thank you very much for your wonderful compliment!!

  • Good thing it's in Austin, where people pay some respect. Not like his real hometown of Oakcliff!!

  • yeah, people would treat it like shit there

  • What is your problem? I'll bet you can't even play and the last pussy you got was when slid out of your stupid mother. Eat shit and die.

  • he died August 27 1990. 18 days before my 1st birthday!

  • I think you'll find that Stevie Ray Vaughan died in 1991, not 1990, as we were due to see him the the UK in September of that year and I was pregnant with my daughter, Stephanie Rachel, who was named after him in January 1992. He died only a few weeks before, with Eric Clapton's manager in a helicopter accident out of Chicago.

  • August 27, 1990

  • that is seventeen days after I was born.

  • He died i was living in austin at time.

  • @StraightRain clearly you forgot your daughters birthday.

  • @StraightRain exactly. Why him, why not lady gaga or bieber! Sorry but it's true stevie is better than the big whole crap of today. Sorry for my bad english i'm dutch :)

  • @iF3nd3r It's ok I feel the same way. I'm proud to be a Texan as was SRV but I'm embarrassed to be an american with the likes of lady gaga and bieber running about. I may piss off many people by saying that but it's my opinion. RIP SRV

  • @SuperWill71 yeah but he died... ...he is a legend now

    S R V

  • but still... SRV did'nt need to wear a meat dress (like lady gaga) to draw attention from people.

all he did to draw attention was playing one single note... R.I.P SRV

  • @iF3nd3r Damn strait!! Preach It!!!

  • @StraightRain sigh,1990, it was 1990

  • SRV is God!

That pretty much says it all!

  • This video can be downloaded from google. See video description on the right. ALSO This video has been posted in its original DV source 720X480 on Archive ORG which allows to be downloaded and seen on a tv screen. Thank you all for your wonderful comments.

  • It is the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail off of Riverside, just past Barton Springs road, just across the street from from the old Palmer auditorium. We used to be blessed enough to see Stevie play out there, back in the daze. It was nice to see Stevie play out there at night with the Austin skyline as a backdrop. That's one of the reasons his statues there.

  • i know when you mean, i went all the way and couldn't get in to do with the tickets, so my mates and i listened from where the statue right now, and we saw and Big Tommy Shannon him afterwards NO JOKE because we told him we couldn't get in

  • Been there...beautiful memorial..awesome statute. We love you Stevie!

  • DAMN i woud like to see that statue

  • i am now making it my quest to go there no matter what! i promise to stevie right now thta i will go there!

  • He was the best..and still is! We all miss him.

  • does anybody know where the staute is?

  • It's in Austin TX, on the shores of Town Lake.

  • It's in Austin Texas, Town Lake I think. You might have to ask someone where the statute is once you get into the park. That's what I did some years ago. It was great, I even have a picture of me standing next to this larger than life SRV statue. It's the least I could do after all the pleassure SRV's music has given me and continues to give me. God Bless YOU SRV!
