@gliccairdello - Roof jacks (brackets) are attached to the roof deck - 2x6 pine boards, with roofing screws. Once the roof is complete, we remove them, and seal the slot between the shakes.

@deadenear - well - not that much of a risk, because we use fall protection system ... but yea - roofing is a tough business.
