splash is gorgeous i have always loved her. i love her white plume tail and her speckled coat. but i love dogs much more for their personality than their looks. and splash can paint! what's not to love?
Emily, can you still call them off??? May be you can, but others? Most lure coursing dogs just run out of controll! I would never ever let a dog do this without teaching them they have to react on my recall even if they are hunting full speed. Within this year I got the sad news of already 5 dead Papillons, killed by dogs that switched over to hunting mode. In hunting mode dogs do not sniff anymore, they do not realise it is another dog, they grip and shake what is believed to be prey. Ute
@PapillonsFrankfurt Well, both Trisch and Splash are trained with Progressive Reinforcement and we worked on a recall so they dont run away, but some of the other dogs there were running away from their people, the main tips I put up because I saw people doing it at the event and it made me sad. One dog was crated before and after running while others were choked on choke chains before and after, and I believe if they had human skin their faces would have been blue... it was really traumatizing
I dont actually believe little dogs should mix with other big dogs besides their "family" that has been trained to be around them. I found this out after a dog attacked both Splash and Tug. Thats why my small dogs are not at this event- you just cant trust that some person is not going to just let go of their leash and let their dog go after yours while you are not next to your dog to protect them
Woo Hoo, look at her go! That was awesome! She loved it! Go Splashers GO! She had a great time too! Ok, now I can't wait to see Tuggerton! Oh no, he did not do it??? That's ok, the others had a great time!

I really like seeing you doing her stretching exercises. That is so important for athletic dogs. I learned some stretches as well.

Was Splash stretching beforehand? I didn't realize that you could "stretch" dogs! I wish we had something like this around us.
