That turtle is a lot more than 9 months old and even though snapping turtles live primarily in water they still need land to bask. you should buy a floating turtle dock.
dude snapping turtles are just as much as pets as dogs cats etc and you can buy snapping turtles almost at any pet shop that sells reptiles so unless you know your shit about turtles then just leave the kid alone
@MarcuSS85 yo i got 3 lil common snappers, 1 found and 2 i bought, the 1 is bigger and has a flaired back of his shell, i got EVERYTHING for em, lights heater filter conditioner, multiple food types, is this positive for c deficiency? maybe cuz he was wild he started with it, idk. lemme know what u think
man i got mine on may 7 09 and theres been a 4inch blue gill in that tank for 3months and he stil hasnt been ate he was maybe 2inchs when i put him in there and my turtle NEVER ate him and hes still in there today but you put minnows in there they are GONE and the bluegill helps take them out to
thanks for the comments :D yeaaa i noticed that too on other peoples videos they have their snapper with sunfish and bluegills and the turtle never even touches them... mine eats minnows i know that and i havnt really tried to keep other fish with him soo i wouldnt be able to tell ya but i mean i wouldnt be surprised if at some point he may try to take a snap at the fish
he did for awhile cause thats what he was being fed i have a pond just rigth behind my house and i bought a castnet so he was being fed reptomin and bluegill/shad/bass/stripers and crawldads but seeing as its winter here and the pond just did unfreeze he has been geting fed boiled ham/turkey/hotdogs/shrimp/anything really
My turtle loves Reptomin too. I havent tried beef heart yet, not sure where to buy that at. Perhaps a cultural market.

dude your turtle needs calcium.. look at that shell! it's all upwards in the back, that's usually a sign of calcium deficiency.

Looks like their might be algae on its shell. I would clean it of somehow or else it get gets harder to clean and can become perment!

@theshadow0908 Algae on the shell is fairly common. Turtles use it for camouflage.
