Well this burns like butant, i spilt some when i was refueling backpacking stoves, so i lit it. It was in a parking lot and after burning for 5 minutes it tried to stomp it out, and the flames went from small and blue, to huge and hot and it lit my shoe on fire (don't worry it went out after about 4 seconds)

I made a batch of smoke bombs back in 2008 and the same thing happened however the batch was much larger and I was leaning over the mixture when it all went up at once I was in the hospital for 10 days and had skin grafts and my face had 2nd and 3rd degree burns. So be careful and wear safety equipment.

I have made them before but once i got over confident and over filled my pan and some on the edge got on fire and the whole mixture burnt my face and kitchen but i recoverd with no scarring.

I would suggest to not over fill your pan/pot and perferrably make it out side so there room for an unexpected blast of smoke and hot burning sugar!

this one time when i was like 4-5 yrs old, i got a full pot of caramel poured all over my face and down my right arm and chest...today i'm 24 and there's no scarring either...you just reminded me of that story, is all :)

btw should this happen to someone in your immediate proximity grab this person and chuck him under the shower...keep the water as cold as possible...preferably no warmer than approx. 8-10 degrees celsius...then immediately call 911...or whatever code ur country has :) now u know

They most probably had it on a high heat, I know that if you leave it on heat for too long it'll catch fire, you need to keep it on low and take it off when it's the right texture, and light brown.

Meh, getting burns from making smoke bombs is like getting burns from baking. I've never been burned and it's pretty easy to be safe. If you keep the heat low the mixture itself isn't very hot. Check out my video showing how much smoke a simple 300g smoke bomb can make!

smoke bombs are easy... all you need is a pingpong ball and tinfoil... Wrap ball in tinfoil and make a small funnel in the top. then just take a lighter and heat it up from underneath and boom! smokebomb

nah, as long as it dosnt light on fire(which will only damage teflon pans) all you need to do to get it out is run hot water onto the pan for a while and wipe out any charcoal stains if it caught fire. It is very easy...although for smokebombs you really should use KNO3/Flour?Wax mix, muc better stuff
