  • You know, i swear i thought it was impossible to open an apple product

  • When I went to replace my dead hard drive, I could not insert my new drive. Using your instructions, I was able to disassemble my MAC. It turns out the rubber guides, for the SATA drive, had fallen out of place. Thanks a million!!!

  • Thanks! Saved me a fortune. I thought i had a mangled DIMM slot as the upgrade wouldn't go in all the way. Took the Macbook apart and found that the keyboard connected had drooped into the dimm slot when the original ram was removed. It was snagging on the new one that i was trying to insert.

  • 4:11 goddammit xD.. best part evaa..

  • Please follow the instructions closely!!!!! specially while taking out the screws near the battery slot I took the 7th screw first and my macbook blew up in pieces and i end up with ashes in my face

  • Thanks for this howto! Helped me troubleshoot some problems i was having with my laptop. <3

  • bro cool vid!! Crave a awesome brand new iPhone4??? I know exaclty how to!! I will tell you my way @ my you tube channel

  • So i watched your video and I followed the process @ 49sec. to 1min and 7sec. ...i was wondering how to put the green thingy's bakk inside and make sure that it is locked like how it wus before i started the disassemle process! please get back to me when possible

  • @QUTSEY22 you have to just push them hard back into their slots.

  • where's the video ram located?

  • macbooks are soo expensive.. they're so expensive you need money to open the battery, yes a quarter is money dumbos.

  • my macbook's harddrive died couple minutes ago:( thanks for helping me take a look:)

  • hey my macbook has been overheating lately and i was wondering if the insides need to get dusted every once and a while?

  • @Akulakhann all computers get dusty after a long period of time.

  • you could put a bomb in there

  • Any way t0 fix keys that d0n't w0rk? I'm unabaIe t0 use certain Ietters that are aII 0n the same side since my key b0ard was sIightIy wet

  • You can't afford macbook? There is giveaway at macbook7 . com You can get one NOW

    like it

  • Thanks for the tutorial! =)

  • Hi there, I actually managed to deassemble my macbook before watching the vid coz i couldnt get online due to beer being spilt in my laptop!!.. unfortunately it was on at the time and just died, I have given it a good clean up with a toothbrush and wd40 (i hope this is ok) but im still getting nothing ...the green light on the charger seems to be pulsing ...any ideas or is it finished!!

    Much appreciate any input

  • @Justinratty your mother board is probably fried. No coverage by Apple in that case. You'll need to buy a new one.

  • @Justinratty yea wd-40 will screw it up but if that happens again put rice (yup, rice!) on your motherboard. the rice is very absorbent and has nothing harsh in it because its natural

  • Hi there's is something going one with my screen if I move it sometimes gets all black but you can tell is on! I think is bad connection or a bad cable of open and closing the screen, there is a easy way check and replace it or fix it? what do you think?

  • @sonico73 its probably the inverter which has a problem.

If your Mac is still under warranty get it fixed at any Apple Center.

  • nice video

  • this is gonna help when painting my macbook however is it possible to reassemble this?

  • @Robdahelpa of course, other wise i wouldn't do it... lol

  • @Blaster7492 well i ment that if you could show on a vid how to reasemmble ,im guessing i just need to reconnect the cables

  • @Robdahelpa there is one cable going into the mother board which is the Keyboard/Mouse/Power On, called TopCase.

And just screw the screws back in.

  • thats soo cool the battery thing

  • what about the Assembly? lolzerz

  • @hrag500 Its easier to reassemble than to disassemle...

  • Thanks for the lesson. It was perfect. Came in very handy as I've never taken apart a laptop before. However, dis-assembling and drying the guts out after a certain chicken soup incident didn't save my Macbook. That's not your fault but, sigh, I guess I couldn't expect a miricle. Looks like she's gonna need a complete transplant. Off to the Apple store I go.

Thanks for the vid. At least I had confidence going in.

  • now assemble it in 5min

  • this is a tutorial, i can disassemble and reassemble in 4 mins.

  • Handy video.Thanks buddy

  • hey i recently pushed my headphone socket further into the mac by dropping it with a lead in it and was wondering whether it would be wise to take it apart and try to push the headphone socket into place again?

  • you can try, but if you cant get sound, you need a new mother board...

  • Thank you very much. You helped me save a lot of money, really.

  • i found a 320gb hard drive (same sort as in video) for free!!

  • thanks for the video.

  • if i remove the hard drive will it erase all the things i got on it?

  • LOL. no

  • hahaha

  • That's interressting!!!

  • Nice

  • ... whats your point?

    assfuck!

  • i was wondering, does upgrading the RAM in a macbook lets say the new macbook supports a maximum of 4 gb, but there's only 2 gb available. could i upgrade myself the RAM or it will void the warranty? btw nice video dude. :)

  • You can change your RAM without a problem, you don't have to dissassemble the whole thing of course, just pull the tabs out and change it...

  • oh ok, thanks for the info :). i have another question, i've been researching a bit about macbooks, and i saw in a webpage that macbook does support 8 gb's of ram, but apple only says it only supports 4 since they don't have cheaper 4 gb's module because since the macbook should cost no more than 999$ us dollars. have you heard a rumor like that? i would say if this is true then id buy the modules appart because buying it from apple could cost a lot. lol.

  • @elchicoboy wont work. 4GB is the max that will be used on a macbook...

  • which side is the RAM???

  • lol, did you watch the video? its on the right side... the latches

  • lol! i didn't know that there was 2 RAMS before! i had 2 watch this again

  • they are called SO-DIMMs

  • It's easier if you push the top case up from the battery bay. Prying up the edges is just gonna crack the top case.

  • Great tutorial, man! Honestly though, I'd be way too scared to take apart my blackbook.

  • damnnn, its pretty tricky!! there is about 14 screws ! i sow this video coz every time i open a video file, the fan sound become high,so i though there is dust or some thing, what should i do?is it normal?or should i open it??thanks for the video!

  • Well try a systems restore. (a reformatt) if that doesn't fix it, open it up, and just clean it out...

  • I'm building a macbook from pieces i found at my local dump (why would someone would get rid of part of a macbook) it has everything but a hard drive, Inverter Board, battery, and screen... I wanted to see if i was missing everything else and this vid really helped thanks!

  • lol, hope it works :D

  • I just recently hoked it up to an external monitor and it works perfectly I'm so exited!

  • sweet! make a vid!

  • y did u take it appart???

  • why not? :) Just to make a tutorial on youtube..

  • i know, i was sweating the first time i took it apart...

  • how can you take apart that beautiful laptop?

  • thanks!
