There are some comedy movies and shows about black people that I find to be god awful in ways they show how black people and over weight people act but I understand that it's just the way their comedy formula is written. I can't watch this show without hearing the laugh track in my head. The show is shot like a documentary, but the actors deliver their lines like it's a traditional still-camera sitcom. The genius of Arrested Development was its fly-on-the-wall joke delivery (that is, the actors spoke to each other, not the audience). I will not be watching this show, unfortunately.
