  • I lost mine when he was a baby :(

  • how do u clean the sand?

  • the water is so clean that i didnt know it was in a tank :P

  • Its so cute I still remember when my was a baby :D

  • wats it eating?

  • Wow! Nice setup!

  • theyre cute even when they are eating neon tetras i love them well my lock neck turtle swallowed it then about 3 hours later it died my frog have venom i think

  • are the frogs smart enough to stop eating when thier full?

  • i gotta question do they actually got gills? or they can just hold there breath for a long time and come up for some air?

  • @TheAblock13 they do not have gills they breathe air and they come up for breaths

  • @TheAblock13 yes and they don't breath through there mouths they breathe through there skin

  • @TheAblock13 your from an other planet or something? wow people have so little basic knowledge

  • omg they are SOOOOO cute when they are small. But then they get big! Still cute, but not as cute.

  • I have a ADF

  • ok to all of you wondering there's obviously water in there or the frog would be freaking out, would not be raised in the front half of his body and would not mildly glide when moving to the food... and just a note for the lucky new owner:

careful with a strict diet of bloodworms, they could cause your frog to bloat, which is dangerous. you can feed them that though. a varied diet will promote growth. and I love the flowerpot idea!! oh and ive never seen a store sell natural colored ACFs.

  • no dumbass its swiming in air

  • derek is right

  • ur a fucking dumbass i was being SARCASTIC ur just a stupid bitch and dnt know what ur talking bout...fuck off

  • @Derek4577 it is?

  • Is there water in there...?

  • LOL, he looks like he's floating :p

  • so what are you doing to contribute to the global community? i'm sure you just save a dolphin from a fish boat, right? the world needs more people like you. Good job on being an asshole! Plus YOU clicked on the video agriel did not click on it for you.

  • I agree with the fact that it's better not to domesticate animals, but humans squander far too much money on other things as well that doesn't benefit. At least keeping a frog is less expensive than buying all the latest accessories for a pet dog.

  • @treyduke22

    fucken moodkiller .... asshole

  • where did you get the food

  • is that posionnes

  • Best tank i saw for African Clawed Frogs

  • Really? I heard it's best NOT to have gravel in bottom, as they'll try to eat just about anything that fits in their mouths, including pebbles. My friend had one that looked as though it had some of the dark pebbles from tank in its belly when I noticed was swimming sluggishly. Sometime later, did end up "croaking"--not the sound (I assume from getting clogged up). I have taken care of 2 (my stepson's) for about 7 or 8 years now and never put gravel in their tank for that reason just in case.

  • how do keep the shrimp from floating they always float

  • those are BLOODWORMS.

    not shrimp.

  • Comment removed

  • what is that bedding

  • Comment removed

  • i love these convince my mum to get one plz i have a fish tank but she dont like em convince her

  • where did you get those bloodworms?

  • in my biology class we genetically modified the eggs of ACFs. I made a whole bunch of dwarf glow in the dark ones lol. We also had the option of making them giant or albino its sweet.

  • Wow im so jeulous i would have had made a giant glowin da dark one!

  • hmm i'm wondering if it's albino then why isn't its eyes pink? that is always the case

  • then what color are they? lol you can't see the eyes w/ enough detail to determine the color. I think they are pink.

  • From the video it looks black..probably the reflection makes its eyes black.whatever it is,its a nice frog

  • The ACF needs at least 10 gallons to itself to grow to their maximum length, if your ACF is stuck in anything less than 8 for more than a few molts then his growth cud be stunted permanetly, which is not good for the frog. A plump and squishy ACF is a healthy ACF!

Video comment to filmer--just wondering, whats that buck of rock in the background, is it spares or lounging area?

ps. Nice feeder plate, i shud get one for mine.

  • too much food shortens life span.

  • What a cute little Clawed frog! How big they grow usually depends on the size of the tank. And with this guy's appetite, he'll grow huge and healthy! Not to mention that with the fake plants and ceramic ornaments, that tank looks like a dream home for any clawed frog!

My clawed frog is almost 3 years old now, and he still isn't much bigger than yours, but I keep him in a tiny 5 gallon tank with one ornament.

  • Impossible, if it's 3 years old, it is 4-5 inches already.

  • He's only 2 inches long, if that. His growth is stunted from being cooped up in a tiny tank. He'll never grow any bigger than he is now. :)

  • ah, i see. Well that sucks . How big does a tank have to be for the frog to grow to it's maximum length?

And also, have you considered that your frog might be a dwarf frog?

  • They usually recommend at least a gallon tank, for up to about 5 frogs.

I know he isn't a dwarf frog, when I bought him, the claweds and dwarfs were in the same tank, and they look nothing alike. And dwarfs never grow any longer than about an inch. Also, hes got claws.

Anyway, claweds will grow to about 10 inchs long if they are in a big enough tank and they are fed enough. They'll get pretty heavy, too (close to a pound!)

  • No, they don't grow to 10 inches, thats impossible!

    5-6 inches max.

  • OK, i'm not good at estimating length. lol One I saw at a pet store was the size of my wrist to the end of my little finger. It was $30.

  • k cool, which pet store was this, because all the ones i go to have like baby frogs?

  • It was just a local pet store here. I don't even remember the name of it, I havn't been there so long. Pet stores usually don't sell full grown frogs, though. 5-6 month old frogs are the usual to sell.

  • an ALBINO african dwarf frog?!

  • There's no such thing as an albino African Dwarf Frog. Albino African Clawed Frogs are very common, though.

  • More like 1 inch... if that long. Look how big red mosquito larvae looks next to him.

  • I was talking about my clawed frog.

  • well maybe its a male frog because the mails tend to be smaller.

  • I know mine is a male.

  • hey what kinda food would you buy these

  • I use Omega One Shrimp Pellets and Wardley Reptile Premium Sticks. You can buy containers of both at pretty much any pet store.

Mealworms are good as a treat for african clawed frogs, as well. You want to use a knife to cut the worm in half to kill it before you feed it to the frog, because they have pretty nasty teeth to bite with, and they're a bit long to swallow for small frogs.

    Mine likes ladybugs, as well.

  • I'm quite an expert with these frogs too. Trust me, I don't think it's possible that you can feed them enough food(sarcastic). They love to eat, and even if you think they can't eat anymore, trust me they didn't have enough. The females especially love to eat a lot, and get very fat.

  • If you decide to buy more of the frogs, to make sure they are clawed not dwarf, the clawed frogs do not have webbed from feet and dwarf frogs do.=)Cute frog.^^

  • My two bigger froggers were about that size when I got them, and now they are getting quite large. My smallest one is probably about that size now.

I've found that my frogs like fake plants more. They have a lot of them in the tank right now.

  • You're not sopposed make them skinny I have 2 a boy and a girl I'm an expert at them and there soppost to be fat!!!!!

  • I have 5 of these frogs, they are about 10 years old now and are about 6 inches long (with their legs stretched)I can hardly remember when they were that small.

  • plz tell me if my frog is a male or female, i cant tell:( its on my channel,

    thanks

    -r2a2z2

  • When mature, if the frog has black hands and no little bump where a tail might be, then it is a male. Males also "sing" at night. If the frog has no black hands, doesn't sing, and has a little bump kind of like a tail, then it's a female.

  • @Agriel huh africanclawed frogs sing??

  • @r2a2z2 its a female let me know that i was right when u find out

  • i have 3 and 2 have grown big not oo big while the other is smaller

  • where did you get that tray?

  • It's a terra cotta plate, about 50 cents at Walmart. You usually buy them to put plants on.

  • ok I get it thanks I might buy one

  • nice mine i am gonna get a WTF

  • i saw one today the size of a small football

  • how long did he take to grow?? They are really cool pets like i cant wait till mine grow up!!

  • Well it actually depends. I bought two albinos around the same time. One has stayed pretty small while the other has tripled in size. This is not a great thing to happen because if they get large enough, the frogs will eat each other! I think it must depend on how good they are at hunting for food and how many of the pellets they get for their base diet. Mine love bloodworms, but bloodworms aren't very nutritious.

  • he looks just like my lil baby i got today!!!

  • Haha, not anymore. This frog is now about three times the size he was in this video.

  • is it in water

  • Yes. They are aquatic frogs. :) You need about 10 gallons of water per frog, but I wouldn't get a tank smaller than 20 gallons for even a single frog because they are active swimmers.

  • ya i no i used to have 100 i used to breed them its jus it dont look like water is in ther but its cuz i didint watch the hole vid

  • wow sweet!!!!! i have white's tree frogs

  • Do they have normal ones? Not albino xD thats all i see is albino ones.

  • Yeah, I have a regular one now, but I didn't have him when I showed the video. I'll take some videos of him later. :)

  • Nice frog, just wait until he gets big :)

  • I can't wait until they get large. Since you keep large frogs, can you tell me whether my 3 will be fine in their 30 gallon when they grow up?

  • #0 would be the bare minimum in my opinion, but they would be ok in that, yes.

  • hahaha, when he charges at a worm he hovers

  • I think you made your little friend a beautiful home. That's one lucky frog!

  • Two lucky frogs now! Clark now has an albino ACF friend named Lewis. They're both the same size. They've been gorging themselves on bloodworms lately. I love watching them so much. :)
