beware low-riding low rise jeans! standard rise worn in the proper spot will make your legs look longer and will help flatten your stomach. either low or standard rise that falls down to your butt crack and leaves gobs of fabric in the crotch area will look terrible!
nice video,,,i wear a boot cut from gap,,,but the problem is that they 2 or 3 colors only. Anyone can recommend me a boot cut brand with different colors
Okay, here's the deal: I'm 5 ' 10", 145, 20 years old. I have a variety of fits, but the problem is is I have practically no butt. I wear slim boot cut a lot of the time, but I rarely have tops that compliment my figure because I have a broad chest in comparison with my arms or shoulders, which have little muscle mass. Besides working out more, what would you suggest?
@isudude0913 Its called a gym. Do squats, you will get a great ass. Your clothes will never fit incredibly until you have an incredible body. That's life. (By the way, having a sexy body is not nearly as hard as it seems, building the habits is really hard....but once thats down its just part of who you are...its easy)
Funny story: I have a pair of $30 jeans that I rarely wash because I use them as work jeans, as a result they have grass stains and oil stains and tears, etc. and a lady at my work wanted to know what brand they were because she thought they were expensive designer jeans.
I wish it'd be easier to find jeans of my size, i'm 6.6 and it's pretty tough to find well fitting clothes, always end having to make do with what i find, envy normal sized people.
I'm 23, I go out to house parties and clubs a lot, I need help on what shoes/tennis shoes to wear with Jeans, I dont know how to mix them and I think I mess that up a lot! could u make a video about it please?
@VypeReaper I wouldn't wear tennis shoes to go out unless they were really dressy tennis shoes. However, I would where something like the "Baller" booties from aldo.com to a house party. Personally, I prefer to wear dress shoes with straight leg jeans or dress boots with straight or bootcut jeans. With boots, the slimmer the jean the better the boots look. Lately, I've been wearing different shades of grey jeans since they go with everything and I always prefer shades of brown shoes over black.
Since your obviously the Guru on Mens Style. You should check out my clothing company. Just Google my username. I get nothing but great reactions from women.
Avoid flap back pockets. Always go with regular back pockets, no special designs or buttons on them unless you want to look like a tool and wear them to match your multi-colored Ed Hardy t shirt.
@jjespeer Skinny is relative, but true skinny jeans look better on skinny guys. If you're muscular and top heavy, then skinny jeans aren't recommended either.
True Religions and Lucky Brand are great fits for guys who have thicker thighs and a bigger waist. Rock and Republic off a slimmer fit, as well as, Hugo Boss and Seven of Republic. You can also distress jeans with sand papers but watch a tutorial before you do it. Fan of your vids as of like 30 mins ago.
@CreazioniPinnacolo Take the shirt collar out?? What, are you into the 70's retro look? I don't know what you're good at but style isn't it. Why don't you recommend a man purse while you're at it since you like to dress in the past?. Am I right or am I right?.
Hey Aaron, everytime I use jeans, when I look at myself at the mirror sideways, I notice my butt is sticked out, or larger than my legs. The pants follow the outline of my butt and legs, which I don't like.. My friends fix this by sagging their pants, but I refuse to do such thing. What do you recomend?
I got some Lucky Brand jeans recently... Changing things up from the usual AE jeans or THs that I had. Love'n them just cause I feel special; not that anyone can tell they cost over $100... Economic "crisis" going on apparently. :$ whats up with numbers like 501 302s etc...? In jeans of course.
Hello, I had a few questions, ok first of all I am 6'4 245lbs I like to look good with classic style of clothing. I know that the wide leg style of pants is the right shape for me, but most mens jeans I see are always made in the tapered or skinny shape, and for people of my size that is the wrong shape. So can you reccomend some good brands of jeans that make a great wide leg jean for us big boys! Us big guys like to look good too, its not just you skinny guys! ha ha!
Hi Aaron. Do you think the Calvin Klein Body Jeans any good? I'm kinda looking for a pair of "designer jeans" but still kinda affordable for a college student. I have a slim body type btw.
what do you think of bell bottoms? not extreme, but like a slight curve at the bottom of the jean. skinny/slim fit jeans are popular where i live in New Zealand but my legs are quite skinny so not too keen to wear them. what do you think? :)
Hey Aaron. Im sixteen Im a senior I watch all of your videos and hope to one day be able to dress as nice as you. For now though Im not fresh at all. Can I have your old clothes that you dont want or wear anymore? Im your height Im 5'6. I wear a large shirt an size thirty pants...
does it really matter where to buy jeans? i usally go to wal mart or target to buy my jeans sometmes i go to ae or hollister but not all the time tho since they are expensive.
I'm looking for advice regarding the actual "fit" of the jeans. Is there a rule of thumb on how to choose the correct size? I find I can get two fingers width between my stomach and the jeans - this causes slight "scrunching" between belt loops at the back (I use a belt). If I go one size smaller, the fit is too tight... so I guess Im asking, what is the correct way to size a jean? :-)

Hello Aaron, im 20, single, and 6'2" tall and 145lbs. I have something that everyone calls a "no butt". im dying to find some pants that fix this problem. I would love to hear about your recomended styles and brands for people with "no butt".
p.s. ive been watching your videos for the last 2 days straight now and i love your advice and please contiue making great videos.
@ShadowBassMan Im the EXACT same dimensions as you are. I have the same dilemma, but this last year and a half I have noticed I am starting to see a little "butt". I have always wore gym shorts under my jeans just out of old habit. But also I find that a "slim boot cut" is the best fit for us skinny guys. I am not a big fan of Abercrombie clothing at all, but I bought the Baxter Slim Boot and have had them for about 3 years now. They look great and fit well. Try the gym shorts though. Cheers
@ShadowBassMan To add a note..Some "slim" fits are very very slim...and are skin tight. like what skateboarders wear. No offense to the skaters. But there are slim fits that have are a tad bit tighter in the leg
So i have a stomach, but I'm a tall man and it evens out with most shirt's i wear. What do you suggest? I do like skinny jeans but have been looking for the slim fit without the bunching at my thighs. Straight leg?
Love your vlogs. The best purchase I ever made (aside from my classic Levis) was a pair of tailor made khakis from Land's End. Got the low rise, flat front, perfect inseam for my short legs. I happen to be really tall from the waist up, but short (32x30) from the waist down. I'm 6'!!! These pants have lasted me a decade (wash everything very meticulously) and they are the best investment I ever made. Not very expensive. Considering. Your vids are a man's best friend. Thanks!
i am 6'2" 220 with long legs and a short torso what type of jeans might you recomend? oh yeah i am 27 years old and usually wear rock revivals or calvin kliens
aaron! thank you for the jeans advice...i am 6'0 220 pounds and was always buying jeans that were classic boot cut....after a while of wearing them they tended to get baggier and looser and that boot fit went away...so i found Rocco slim fit boot cut LOW RISE and they are the best jeans i have ever bought...a bit pricy but you get your moneys worth. you are right about how the low rise looks on most men i agree it gives me that lift and i dont look so bulky. thank man!
Hey Aaron what about shorts? Usually in the summer during the day, it is too warm. So what are the "rules" for shorts or should a man be wearing them at all.
i don't know.... but i think boot cuts look ugly. if u are well constructed and slim, why shoud you not wear slim jeans ? i mean, if they are not too long. and even if it makes wrinkles at the bottom (a bit), is it that dramatical ? i thought it looks pretty cool...
HATE ALL THE DISTRESSING. Why have so many bought into the baggy, falling off the hip look ( you did not mention it, but I would guess you have same opinion). Although I agree with you about longer line with low rise, unfortunately for more roubust/ portly ?? older men, classic waist is usually more flattering. Hide the extra pounds at waist, rather than display with low cut.
Rock and Republic or Diesel. I'm stuck between the two I've owned a pair of Diesel, but I wanted to try something new and was wondering if I should give Rock and Republic a try.
@jamarris2111 Rock and Republic is amazing. I highly recommend them. They all have spandex which helps them fit many body types. Although I haven't had any Diesel, I'm sure Rock and Republic is as good or even better.
What do you think about skinny jeans? I have great fitting navy jeans but I want to buy myself some of those black skinny jeans to go a bit more for the rockstar look. I am thin, I think I might pull it off (I've been told my body is A++). Should I go for it??
Aaron, what should be length of jeans i mean where should it end.I have some jeans which are quite long should i wear them folded or get it altered? which is good
@xtechxtips I like Zara jeans too. They're great for dressy going out looks. When I want to look dressy, I wear low-rise, straight leg jeans with no distressing. Try wearing grey jeans with your grey blazer and brown for the shirt, belt and and dress shoes. I like the way brown works with grey.
I'm wondering, Mr. Marino, what your opinion is on the classic style jeans, such as the Levi 501s that were common in the 1950s. They are considered high rise, I think, but I don't think they look bad. I mean, it may be a bit old fashioned, but then again, I'm the same guy who wears a fedora almost daily.
Great tips on jeans! I'd love to see a video discussing other men's pant styles i.e. khakis, chinos, slacks, dress pants, what's the difference? How to select the right one based on outfit/environment etc? Keep up the great work Aaron!
Would be good if you recommended some brands or stores by name. I know there's more out there than Levis and Wrangler, but are $300 Armani jeans worth it?
popular brands with teens, i would know since every guy talks about them >_>, are ksubi, evisu and nudie jeans. they are slightly cheaper than armani but can be just as expensive. try looking up some selvedge jeans, those are the kind of jeans that are very popular, sorry i dont know where you can find them caus i live is australia but i hope i helped you with this
Aaron, great information. How about us bigger guys (6'2", 300, 30% bodyfat and can't buy off the rack at dept stores). I have found the "wide leg" in pants to give me more room as well as a good symetrical look. What do you think about that style for big guys? Also, what about shirts(solids, striped, checkered). How about this topic on a video? Thnks and keep up the great tips.
@AlphaMconsulting I too would like to watch a video on suggestions for Bigger Frames ... I too am 6'2", 305lbs ... If you could make a video on this topic that would be awesome and greatly appreciated
allrighty....about 5'6, fairly stock build...not too much weight, but im not slim. pretty strict budget as well. any suggestions? currently have mostly holister bootcut jeans because they are cheap and comfortable...but some advice could be helpful.
he's so wrong about the light wash not being popular/80s...80s is in fashion anyway but I don't think it screams 80s. This guy is not an expert, he just needs a job...
what he means all your jeans will end up lighter tought the washes , youll get that light blue color. hes an expert. we been in fashion business for years. and yes light jeans scream 80's 1989 L.A. style
Hey, what would you recommend for someone like me. I have a larger waist then chest (not by much!) and I don't want to look awkwardly pear shaped haha, so what jeans would you recommend?
Well, go try on a pair of Banana Republic low rise boot cut jeans. They will sit lower on your waist and open up from your hip to your feet. This will reduce the "pear" shape as much as possible. See what you think!
SOLID video man! My old jeans were getting worn and had holes in the crotch so I had no jeans for 3 months...and I decided I really needed jeans. I didn't really know wtf baggy/vs boot cut/etc crap was but now I do.
Make sure the jeans fit well. It is very important for you to not wear jeans that are baggy. This will only make you look thin. Also, play around with wearing layers up top to ad some bulk to your frame. Hope this helps
A Wealthy New York Heiress runs into a Homeless Man in Central Park West. He complains to her that he has not eaten for 3 whole days. In a sympathetic tone she retorts, "Force Yourself."
I hope this made you laugh and give some levity to an underwise serious situation facing America. Wealthy Americans not knowing what to eat and then not knowing how to stop once they've started!
If you have found that H&M jeans fit you well and look good, stay with them. They are also priced very well. As far as others I would suggest, everyone is different and a pair that fits me great wouldn't necceseraly fit you well. You got to go in and try them to see if they work for you.
where can i find great jeans? i currently work at aeropostale and our jeans tend to only fit right in certain area like the crotch or the butt but then weird in the legs...but i ahve found h&m jeans are much more versatile and comfortable and great loooking...should i continue with them or do u have others u would suggest?
i had tried all brands i mean those which cost less than a 100$ because thats the most i can afford to spend on one pair, i am glad i found the brand killer... also very surprisingly i got a brand from K-mart for just 20$ and they fit so well that i was really surprised they look good from front and also from behind... a very similar fit is Calvin Klein they also fit me well... Levis is the worst fit for me and for all those men who have small butts and thin legs they make you look worse...
Buying a nice pair of jeans is the most difficult thing in this world, those which look very good from front dont fit well at hips and make you look ugly from behind... and those which look good from behind dont look good from front, unfortunately i dont have a good butt, so most of the jeans dont look good on me from behind.. but then i found brand Killer which gives good shape to my butts and also looks very good from front...
Aaron, this mite be a tad inappropriate to write on here, but my boyfriend and I think you're super HOT..prrrrrr.....Your smile's a killer and you should show some skin...hehe..take care hun
Are you kidding me??? Inappropriate??? This is You Tube, the term inappropriate doesn't exist here. Besides, I'm always up for a compliment, it sure beats people telling me that I look like an ass or I don't know what I'm talking about. As for skin...come on...I'm tyring to keep this thing PG. Unless you think that would help me get more subscribers....joking but thank you very much!
My wife talked me into getting rid of my older traditional higher-rise jeans and getting low-rise. At first they felt like they were going to fall off my waist, but now I like the way they look and feel. I like Ralph Lauren 750 boot cut because they're not too flaired at the bottom, like most boot cuts that look too bell bottomed. I found them on major markdown fortunately as they're very expensive in the department stores. Your advice is appreciated.
Is there a rule for men when they wear sweater vest. My husband is not slim, but he's not fat. He has a big frame and I was just wondering if a sweater vest would look good on him. Can you please make a video about sweater vest?

I thought a tapered leg could help the legs look leaner, but maybe the straight leg cut would do pretty much the same?

@PerianArdocyl Tapered legs make your waist look bigger. Like has been said many times it creates an overall "pear" shape.
It really has nothing to do with the legs at all.

Rock and Republic or Diesel. I'm stuck between the two I've owned a pair of Diesel, but I wanted to try something new and was wondering if I should give Rock and Republic a try.
jamarris2111 1 year ago
@jamarris2111 Rock and Republic is amazing. I highly recommend them. They all have spandex which helps them fit many body types. Although I haven't had any Diesel, I'm sure Rock and Republic is as good or even better.

What do you think about skinny jeans? I have great fitting navy jeans but I want to buy myself some of those black skinny jeans to go a bit more for the rockstar look. I am thin, I think I might pull it off (I've been told my body is A++). Should I go for it??

I hate jeans that exaggerate my chicken legs, how do i get a good fit, without looking like a chicken, but not baggy like a little gangster?
AyeImaBoss 1 year ago
Are grey slimmer jeans okay? I'm a teenager, so I don't think they'd look too weird on me.

Aaron, what should be length of jeans i mean where should it end.I have some jeans which are quite long should i wear them folded or get it altered? which is good
rockstar25461 2 years ago
@rockstar25461 I hear that they should be just barely touching the floor when you're barefoot.

True Religions or Rock and Republic? Which do you perfer? I own both, but tend to lean towards Rock and Republic.
SaltyPenguinAHT 2 years ago
I think Rock and Republic look better personally. True Religion just are a bit "hey look at me" for my taste

what jeans/pants do u recommend to suit a Blazer
Low rise jeans? I have a new bought Blazer..from Zara..its grey in colour.. any tips?
xtechxtips 9 months ago
@xtechxtips I like Zara jeans too. They're great for dressy going out looks. When I want to look dressy, I wear low-rise, straight leg jeans with no distressing. Try wearing grey jeans with your grey blazer and brown for the shirt, belt and and dress shoes. I like the way brown works with grey.

I'm wondering, Mr. Marino, what your opinion is on the classic style jeans, such as the Levi 501s that were common in the 1950s. They are considered high rise, I think, but I don't think they look bad. I mean, it may be a bit old fashioned, but then again, I'm the same guy who wears a fedora almost daily.

hey Aaron what do u think about Slim fit jeans for guys, are they in ..like Diesel thanaz etc
rockstar25461 2 years ago
Great tips on jeans! I'd love to see a video discussing other men's pant styles i.e. khakis, chinos, slacks, dress pants, what's the difference? How to select the right one based on outfit/environment etc? Keep up the great work Aaron!
hommeboy85 2 years ago
You need to put your jackets/shirts in your closet in color coded order! It would have took all of five seconds and look good on film!

Would be good if you recommended some brands or stores by name. I know there's more out there than Levis and Wrangler, but are $300 Armani jeans worth it?
Bigwave2003 2 years ago
popular brands with teens, i would know since every guy talks about them >_>, are ksubi, evisu and nudie jeans. they are slightly cheaper than armani but can be just as expensive. try looking up some selvedge jeans, those are the kind of jeans that are very popular, sorry i dont know where you can find them caus i live is australia but i hope i helped you with this

Thnks and keep up the great tips.
gdblg1 2 years ago 3
You got the right idea! The wider leg will balance your large upper body. As for shirts, I would stick to solids or a more subdued pattern.

he's so wrong about the light wash not being popular/80s...80s is in fashion anyway but I don't think it screams 80s. This guy is not an expert, he just needs a job...
modestoca25 2 years ago
what he means all your jeans will end up lighter tought the washes , youll get that light blue color. hes an expert. we been in fashion business for years. and yes light jeans scream 80's 1989 L.A. style

What do you suggest for the fit around the waist.
I know some jeans lay low around the hips and others lay high.
I have wide hips and no butt and I want to change that. haha
I love your videos by the way!
stevenwhite2010 2 years ago
I am not sure what you are saying. I suggest that they fit around your waist, waist being low on your torso.

Eat and work out. Then buy jeans.

Hey, what would you recommend for someone like me. I have a larger waist then chest (not by much!) and I don't want to look awkwardly pear shaped haha, so what jeans would you recommend?
Iglio11 2 years ago
Well, go try on a pair of Banana Republic low rise boot cut jeans. They will sit lower on your waist and open up from your hip to your feet. This will reduce the "pear" shape as much as possible. See what you think!
AlphaMconsulting 2 years ago
I suggest you get in the gym, fatso.

What would you recommend for people with naturally skinny figure?
MankindCartoons 2 years ago
Make sure the jeans fit well. It is very important for you to not wear jeans that are baggy. This will only make you look thin. Also, play around with wearing layers up top to ad some bulk to your frame. Hope this helps

Here's a Joke you'll be able to relate to.

Aaron do you feel lucky brand jeans are fashionable? If not what brand do you like most?
isisbenny404 2 years ago
Lucky jeans are still stylish, the truth is that as long as they look good on you, any jean will do.

Gregg,
If you have found that H&M jeans fit you well and look good, stay with them. They are also priced very well. As far as others I would suggest, everyone is different and a pair that fits me great wouldn't necceseraly fit you well. You got to go in and try them to see if they work for you.
AlphaMconsulting 2 years ago
where can i find great jeans? i currently work at aeropostale and our jeans tend to only fit right in certain area like the crotch or the butt but then weird in the legs...but i ahve found h&m jeans are much more versatile and comfortable and great loooking...should i continue with them or do u have others u would suggest?

i had tried all brands i mean those which cost less than a 100$ because thats the most i can afford to spend on one pair, i am glad i found the brand killer... also very surprisingly i got a brand from K-mart for just 20$ and they fit so well that i was really surprised they look good from front and also from behind... a very similar fit is Calvin Klein they also fit me well... Levis is the worst fit for me and for all those men who have small butts and thin legs they make you look worse...
subodhkumaar 3 years ago
Buying a nice pair of jeans is the most difficult thing in this world, those which look very good from front dont fit well at hips and make you look ugly from behind... and those which look good from behind dont look good from front, unfortunately i dont have a good butt, so most of the jeans dont look good on me from behind.. but then i found brand Killer which gives good shape to my butts and also looks very good from front...
subodhkumaar 3 years ago
Save $200 on jeans and get a pair of running shoes.
