I hate to poop on anyone's childhood memories, but I honestly never understood the appeal of this show. If they were going to make it a singing show, why not cast kids with better voices? Every time I look up a song I like I see a clip of them covering it, and it's usually way off key. I guess that's the 80s for you.

Yeah Ryan was 13 when the season started and 14 when it ended and his voice was getting deeper. I think he also grew a little during the season, I think he was shorter when we 1st met him.
