You also don't understand that if a "fair" tax is implemented then your wage/salary will go down and you will still be getting the same money that you are getting now and that money that you earn will be taxed when you buy things. Also unless your upper class (and don't really need the extra money) you will actually be paying more because your "fair" tax will get rid of a proportional system forcing the lower and middle classes to pay more and the upper class to pay less.
Oh and i know that you say that the constitution doesn't provide for a national bank. We still have the most powerful Navy in the world which can be dispatched where needed. Our Air Force can be dispatched as needed too. During the Shock & Awe on Iraq, the bombers flew out of Texas, dropped the bombs and flew back to Texas. We don't have to have bases in other countries. Plus, our borders are porous and potential terrorists are just walking into our country untouched.
Our country is heading towards a corporatist fascism -- meaning that big business is controlling our lives more than ever. At the heart of this corporatist system is a banking system that is indeed controling our wealth. Even if you disagree with some of Dr. Paul's points, his basic philosophy of a less government is critical to restoring our faith in government, and ultimately in ourselves.

He gets more minority support than the other GOP candidates, which isn't saying that much. Being a GOP is an automatic two strikes against you with most minorities. Federal sentencing guidelines are often biased against minorities. In minority-majority cities like DC, Baltimore and New Orleans, they have to come begging to the federal white man to get their tax dollars back to improve their city. Returning the money and power back to the local level is very good for minorities.

I am a Ron Paul fan. I'm a little concerned about the Ron Paul agenda such as removing the department of education at the Federal level. I understand from a theoretical perspective. Financially it totally makes sense. How can this be explained better so it doesn't sound so drastic.
The Department of Education is a federal bureaucracy that costs us tens of billions of dolalrs and it educates nobody. We did just fine without a Dept. of Education. In fact, the quality of education has gone down since it came into existence. How's that?
It is important to distinguish between public education and the federal Department of Education. Too many people think he is saying that he wants to get rid of public education when, in fact, he wants to dramatically improve it by returning control of education to the local level, to parents and teachers and the local communities.
Name one Federal dept that is successful and not a money siphon and a liberty siphon. Let the communities decide what we teach and encourage competition for students and we will fix our schools. Set minumum standards by the feds and thats all you get.

F's people were trying to get the cops to arrest and harrass them, because he had only 9 people compared to 80. Why do neocons think that bringing the troops home means we can't protect ourselves?
We still have the most powerful Navy in the world which can be dispatched where needed. Our Air Force can be dispatched as needed too. During the Shock & Awe on Iraq, the bombers flew out of Texas, dropped the bombs and flew back to Texas. We don't have to have bases in other countries. Plus, our borders are porous and potential terrorists are just walking into our country untouched.

He gets more minority support than the other GOP candidates, which isn't saying that much. Being a GOP is an automatic two strikes against you with most minorities. Federal sentencing guidelines are often biased against minorities. In minority-majority cities like DC, Baltimore and New Orleans, they have to come begging to the federal white man to get their tax dollars back to improve their city. Returning the money and power back to the local level is very good for minorities.

I think the video would be more effective to bring in newcomers (eg via posters/billboards) if it discussed big government before immigration, because some would-be ex-liberals, for example, might not be able to understand and accept the immigration position unless they first understand the big picture of small government and national sovereignty without foreign intervention and imperialism.

The Gold backed currency had a lot of problems when it was used. Also, the same people running the central banks now, the Rothschilds etc, these people have stolen all the gold already. So if you have a gold backed currency they will probably become richer and more powerful than they already are. So what does that mean? Is Ron Paul a judas goat?

Indeed. He's the only candidate that makes sense. We need change. It might not come in 2008, but I'm excited to see this new form of thinking being spread to so many Americans, thanks to his campaign.
