  • i seen this on tv the bear is dead it mauled 4 people and was shot by authorities and it has cubs at the Cincinnati zoo all victims are alive but 3 were almost killed

  • WOW Great video . Lets hope that he dont come back to your house . He is on the hunt and nothing will stop him from feeding so be careful and keep your gaurd up .

  • im moving there next week

  • @petelebu Dude, They did NOT kill the moose. They REMOVED the carcass!

  • As mentioned in the video, the bear was unharmed. Fish and Game simply removed the carcass (or what was left of it).

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • why would they take its food from it? just curious, not hating on alaska, im just wondering if there is a legit reason for doing this?

  • So the bear doesn't come and kill someone, that was in a suburb in anchorage.

  • oh right. thanks.

  • Bears become aggressive when it comes to protecting their food, in addition the bear had a cub, they become even more aggressive when protecting their children. so they had to scare the bear away from the area

  • @FrozenPenguing It was to close to houses, I live just up the street from there. i watched it happen

  • Search youtube for

    DIYbowhunter

    you will be amazed

  • nice vid

amazing the power of a bear

too bad the bear and moose have better manners then some of the posters here do

  • leave the damn bears alone. How stupid have you got to be to think going out there and taking the bears food is a good idea?

  • Makes you realize how easily the bear could drag a person off into the woods to eat.

  • She is giving commentary like a football game !

  • lol moose got owned

  • man... nature is brutal

  • that was good for viewers to understand nature, thats how it is, negative comments from others just ignore.

  • if that bear charged me ida made a rug outa him haha

  • I saw your video on most shocking.

  • You still do.

  • That poor moose.

  • that voice. aaaaaaggggghhhhh. at least they didnt shoot the bear.

  • yes im alaskan i want to escape reality and not abide by any laws

  • archangle (is that really angle and not "angel"..? - This is not the bear that was killed in Anchorage that was thought to have mauled and chased people. Do your homework before make comments.

  • Wow I like this woman's voice. Very very sexy. An Alaskan cougar.

  • Dear God woman! There is no such word as "wokened" nor is there such a word as "drug" except in the narcotic or pharmaceutical sense. I presume you meant "dragged". Have the courtesy to at least learn your own mother tongue so you can teach your children. You sound like Sarah Palin.

  • feel better?

  • And I wanted to move there.

  • The mom doing this vid sounds hot. What r u wearing?

  • lol Hilarious

  • Just to clear some things up:

The bear seen in this video was shot and killed. The reason was not due to the close proximity of the bear to people, but this bear was responsible for mauling a woman 12 miles to the South in Anchorage. It was a mother bear, and had been causing problems all summer. At the time this incident occurred, they had just figured out that this bear and the bear that mauled the woman were one in the same. The bear came out while they were recovering the carcass....Dead.

  • And not to worry, the cubs were captured and now live a happy life at the Cincinnati zoo.

  • Yeah, I saw it on Discovery Channel about bear attacks and this particular video and bear was in it. She was destroyed like you said, at least according to what the guy in the program said.

  • That bear was shot and killed by Alaska State Troopers, i saw it on Discovery.

  • Bears are immensely strong. Did you see how easily he carried that moose off by the neck?

That would take a whole pride to bring down.

  • Not true. Once I beated one via submission. At UFC 91.

  • Obviously it was self defense.

  • Good documentation, pro

  • The bear had cubs to feed.Sarah Palin would have killed them both(with that big smile of her's) just for her sick kicks...

  • poor deer lol

  • just a note but its a moose

  • Wow that's amazing and sad at the same time. I hope your kids stay safe when they play outside.

  • they didn't kill the bear people! Pay attention!

  • lol they did'nt like the skin

  • wow that was cool

  • Not much left, so they sure had themselves a good meal. Good for mommy Bear and her cub! Shame they did`nt got it all...

  • Holy crap the bear tore that moose up pretty bad.

  • omg that place is close to where i live good thing the bear didn't come around my neiborhood i would be freaked out if i ran in to a bear on the road. i have already and it was scary.

  • Longbeach, check the vid again. It says that fortunately they managed to scare the bear off, and didn't have to kill, or in any way, injure it.

  • I don't know where you got the impression that I was being a "tough guy." I'm sorry if I came off that way. But I must know, why do you have the right to share your comments but I don't?

  • Your comment was towards me, I made a comment about the video. I didn't go anyone and say anything smart like stay in the city! Make a comment but don't make to to anyone if you don't want them defending themselves. I didn't even read your name but now I know your a tough girl and not a tough guy. We move to their world and then kill them because they are around and doing what they always have done, now matter how you put it, it's wrong!

  • Why'd they drag the carcass back?

....to keep other dangerous wildlife away or... ???

  • Great coverage Jennifer. You had to know that some idiots would give this their own angle. Why did they kill the bear, whydid they kill the mother moose etc, etc? Some will use any excuse to badmouth hunters, or even people, like you, that live in a sort of wilderness area, by choice, or with job. And they comment without even closely watching. I agree with those that said great job, and you SHOULD be in broadcasting.

  • Sounds like a real nice place to raise your kids..LOL!

  • great footage

  • OMG glad i dont live in america/alaska...

we dont really got any wild animals left in holland thats pretty poor... but damn glad we dont got those creatures XD

  • Great video!

  • They didn't shoot the bear. Shots were fired to scare it away and the moose carcass was removed so the bear wouldn't get used to feeding near a residential area.

  • got damn they're strong.

  • omfg

  • I know I might get people talking shit but I think it's wrong to kill a bear just because he was trying to do what he knows how to do and hunt for food. We build our homes in the back yard and we kill them for hunting, something is very wrong about that. Move to the city if your not willing to have to deal with them!

  • If you listen, they went out into the woods and the bear charged them. That's why it was killed.

Stay in the city if you're not willing to seal with that.

  • Nice location, but do you have a large calibre rifle in case a bear attacked you or oyur family? also the guns those men were carrying were mainly for protection.

  • I would damn sure have a large caliber rifle & pistol always handy and travel with one too.

  • amazing footage , thank you for sharing, and quite a professional presentation for an amateur might I add

    thank you

  • The strength of that bear is incredible, hauling that moose like it was a stray dog. Fack!

  • yeah but why did they shoot then?

  • the bear killed the moose haha cant you see ? they just recovered the carcass probably to sudy it and by removing it it wont attract other predators near this neighborhood

  • i can deep sleep with that, i live in alaska (fairbanks) and i petted a moose (:

he was in my yard and my brother dared me

  • The point is not that they were trying to keep the bear from its food. They are trying to avoid human-bear confrontation. The noise should have provided enough deterrent to move the bears further from the humans and removing the carcass precludes the bears from coming back to feed. this kind of stuff happens in Alaska all the time. We know what we are doing to a great extent(not perfect). They did not harm the bears. AGAIN they did not harm the bears.

  • wouldent it be dangerious to live here,i would be scared to let my children play outside, or even to go for a family walk!

  • As she says in the video, the bears were not harmed. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game biologists removed the moose carcass because it was so close to houses in the area.

  • Just answer me this, why kill the bear?

I wonder if any of you within this specific location of the video have ever tried to understand Bears?

  • where was that ?

  • why are armed men going out there?

  • ummmm, bears get a little peeved when you move their food? just maybe?

  • captain obvious! lol

  • Ha Ha, very true, but some people don't understand that........

  • you can deep sleep whit this?

  • this is a news story not a video... when you put a title like that I expect to see the bear attacking the moose not you talking about it...

  • OMG that has never happend before!! ever!!

  • I agree with him how would you fill if i walked up to you in the supermarket and shoot you just because your trying to get some food.

  • Great! Honey, we're having the Grizzlie's over for dinner tonight. Do you mind lighting up the George Foreman grill?

    Sure, what's for dinner, Honey?

For the bears it looks like it will be 'us'.

  • it's like a costume at the end no filling.

  • I agree, Jennifer should have a job on tv. She doesn't have this ridiculous way many US tv people have these days, talking in between umms & aah's & emphasising the last couple of words in a sentence. She also seems to come over as having a nice way about her, a nice down to earth person. Should be on tv. Husband be proud.

  • Wow, Jennifer you narrate this so well! You really should do the news...

  • fantastic and interesting video! thanks for posting.

  • Jennifer should be reporting news in Alaska-

    Nice job story telling here.

    :-)

  • I agree-it sounds like a news cast. She's good!!I bet she isn't going to let her kids go outside.

  • thats nature

  • ouch

  • woulda been a better vid if she wouldn't have talked so much...

  • you can hear someone in the beginning crying

  • wow thanks for sharing your one of kind footage. that's great. I appreciate it.

  • its a kodiak bear

  • humans are continually encroaching on territory that should be ecologically preserved. We have an issue with overpopulation and when things get bad we'll be resorting to cannibalism.

  • "Overpopulation"??

    "Encroachment"

    Humans have lived there forever.

We could take every person in America and house them on Ted Turners' Monatana property alone.

Thanks for sharing your ignorance and total lack of understanding about wildlife and our impact on them.

  • I know not to be walking around there

  • Wow that sure is hunting.

  • who said it was hunting? it's a video of a bear attacking a moose and the local authorities shooting the bear b/c it stayed around that town which is not safe.... how could you think it's hunting????

  • ...they took a hide from them. The bear and cubs and whatever else had eaten most of the carcass. But, it was rather stupid to call the wildlife ... thing on them. :P

  • with having children, aren't you a little worried about going outside! a grizzly bear in your backyard that kills & charges forest service workers! SCARY! do u take out the trash @ night?

  • the bear is Russia.....the moose is georgia...a sign?

  • its called 30 06 get one and load it and use it

  • If the Bears come near our Home we kill them, life is short, don't be a victim. Believe me the bear knows we are food.

  • search (man fights bear) National Geographic

  • or, could this be the (new) direction Gov. Palin is going?

Now, when you call fish and shame they come right away, but that bear will find another moose calf or (something) to feed on, they should be sent back to kill the bears!

  • And wait till the bear or wolves get your kids! They wont do a damm thing either!

  • Those lazy bastards didnt want to do that last year when it happened by our house, they said the dead moose was your problem!
