@BrnoutJerzey lol well the fresher the better when working with sea food. Otherwise you get that rancid/fishy taste, even shell fish gets it. If it makes you feel better, they don't have a central nervous system so they can't feel anything when they die. Would you rather have one this fresh, or would you rather one previously frozen, pumped full of preservatives at the dock, and shipped thousands of miles to your dinner table?

@vengefulspirit99 uh, no, they're not. I don't know what kind of scallops you have had, but they aren't, especially when fresh. It's all in how you cook them and if they've been previously frozen. If it's not, and if it's very fresh, then they're very smooth and creamy.
Never had scallop before, for some reason I cannot find a decent restaurant here in the Netherlands that serves unique seafood like this. It looks very fatty though, is it fatty?
@RebeccaLessay they're sweet and beautiful if cooked properly, try finding a seafood restaurant, most likely they serve scallops. They're a tad expensive for the big ones though, but it doesn't contain many calories, one contains approximately 35-45 calories. not fatty at all.
@Zypnick Now, my dear, a chef that doesn't know anything about his ingredients (meat, sea food, chicken...)about their anathomy, parts, waste, etc... has nothingt do in a kitchen.
If they are just caught, you could eat those just like that, raw, including the red bit.
