Neither are technically goth, as the gothic more the "dark and mysterious" definition rather than gothic subculture, like gothic novels. At the same time, goths do listen to gothic metal, becuase as goths, individuality is encouraged. However, due to the amount of overly puritanical goths out there, it's probably best not to use Gothic Metal in a video about gothic culture.

Goth is not a religion and there is no exact definition for Goth. There are Goths that belong to EVERY religion, not just, the stereotypical, Satanist. There's Christian goth, wiccan goths, catholic goths, buddist goths and so on. It's a feeling, and an attraction to intangible atmospheres & feelings of a particular flavor. It's also a lovely visual phenomenon that's pretty specific. But musically it's horrible IMHO!! :) You could say it's a way of life, but not necessarily a religion.. just a kind of 24/7 self-identification with certain qualities. Like an art movement but everyday.

What's funny to me is how people think Goth's are depressed people. In fact most Gothic people are happy and they tend not to take themselves seriously.
