This is a new concept to me in working out the abdominal muscles, however, with singing experience, and greatly using the diaphragm, I can say my muscles are much stronger. So, this is an interesting workout to me. (After all, you are still working the muscle if you think about it anatomically)
i have a question, does become stronger means the same as gain more muscle mass, i read that you can become stronger by adding muscle fiber in to the muscle and its not the same as gain muscle mass in general.
@animejoao mass and strength are not the same. there are a lot of people who in fact try to avoid hypertrophy (tearing of muscles necessary for creating more mass; crucial in bodybuilding) in order to maintain a certain shape or weight for their sport and its weight classes. (e.g. track or boxing)
@mattbrandwich Mass and strength are related however thus even when solely focusing on building strength, there will still be changes in your mass and tears in your muscles.
A good rule of thumb (not always the case of course). Is low reps (1-3) are more strength oriented where as higher reps create more hypertrophy
This is a great exercise! the only problem with how the demo guy is doing it, is your arms should be directly under your shoulders, his are too far in front. It shows this in the "4 hour body" images. The knees should also be directly under the hips to ensure your back is in correct position. Apart from that...great!

You didnt explain the breathing correctly. First you said exhale fully the suck the stomach in. Then you said tense then exhale.. I'm confused....
