@smithbc81 It's more than just the use of fear. They employ lies, and the lies become so prevalent that they're difficult, if not impossible, to eradicate. It's much easier to repeat what someone else said than to critically examine an issue, and maybe even do some research, but the former isn't reliable, whereas, the latter at least exposes one to more information, and is less likely to fall victim to confirmation bias.

I've met gay kids who have been beaten to the point of coma and permanent disability simply for being gay.
