Atheists can have morals. The thing you have to remember is that Morality, much like laws, is a creation of the superstructure that is human society. The main influences that dictate my morals at least is what I was taught was right and wrong by my parents, what my own beliefs on the subject indicate, and to an extent what society indicates as 'right.' Theists pose as if they have divine inspiration for persecuting people about things that weren't even written in their scripture. "It is a sin" they say. "Look, god killed onan becuse he didn't want to be used as an impregnation tool, therefore you must not masturbate!" That's retarded. Now I can see why atheists do not want to believe in God. There are so many benefits! Atheists are not rampant destroyers of all peace. Reasons:
1) There is law, thankfully it is man made.
2) There is logic. An alliance is better than facing difficulties alone.

@SuperDonster -- not all evidence has to be false. A few places and events mentioned in the old/new testament, koran etc. can be corroborated by historians and archeologists. OTOH, Spider-Man's city New York exists too.
False testimony doesn't necessarily mean that somebody lied, it may also be mistaken for other things: false memories, dreams, delusions/hallucinations, wishful thinking etc.
What atheists mostly mean by »no evidence« is this: no gods ever verifiably manifested themselves.

Einstein didn't believe in a personal god, scientists believed in universal gods, a god that didn't answer prayers, and didn't do anything. Atheists can have morals. The thing you have to remember is that Morality, much like laws, is a creation of the superstructure that is human society. The main influences that dictate my morals at least is what I was taught was right and wrong by my parents, what my own beliefs on the subject indicate, and to an extent what society indicates as 'right.' In other words, Morality, right and wrong, and ehtics are simply what we were taught and what we find appalling versus not appalling.

well, 1st of the bat, not all cultures believe in gods. The ancient aborigines of australia, although having creation stories, do not have the mention of gods. Instead, they use spriits, for example, the rainbow serpent. And doesnt the fact that for the aborigines, the serpent created everything, while for christians, the serpent is evil, show how little they have in comon?

Before the Bible was written, God has been with man. The Bible was written by several people, who lived in different timeline, who have been inspired by God. If it is not inspired by God, why is it that one book from the Bible don't contradict the other?

Imagine if the whole world believed as you do. It would be a far worse world than it is today. Everyone could do anything they wanted, right or wrong, with no conscience of it at all, with the motto "if I don't get caught, who gives a crap".
Now imagine if we all followed the ten commandments and believed in God. Sure, it would not be as fun for many of you who can't seem to live without your sin, but the world would be a better place as a result. That is the kind of world that God wants.

atheists do not need christian or buddhist commandments in order to have their own moral code. A theist has a hard time grasping how, because they believe that morals are divinely inspired whereas it is natural for an atheist to assume that morals are human made.
Atheists are a kind of people who do not accept guilt for what they haven't done. They do not do good things because they will get hurt in some afterlife. Good atheists are just good because it brings them peace in a society.

Why don't you atheists say what you really mean. Instead of saying "we don't believe in God". Say "we don't believe in being held accountable for our actions". Say what you mean, don't disguise it. You need to start living by the motto "it's better to be safe than sorry". If I am wrong and there is no God, nothing is lost. Maybe restraining from a little sin in life, no big deal. I'll still have had my family and had a good life. You on the other hand, if are wrong, will pay a far greater price.

Accountable for our actions? Atheists are more law abiding than any other group. 75% of America is Christian. 75% of the prison population is Christian. 10% of the US pop. is Atheist. Less than two tenths of one percent of the prison pop is Atheist. Atheists are some of the most ethical and moral people in the country.

Atheists are not rampant destroyers of all peace. Reasons:
1) There is law, thankfully it is man made.
2) There is logic. An alliance is better than facing difficulties alone.
It is a gamble to go killing and stealing. Like it is a gamble to worship just because the odds are better. Frankly, some prefer stability and happiness over chaos.

Problem was that in the end, I just couldn't understand what it would actually add to my life, that could make me more happy then I already am. And hard as I tried, I simply found it impossible to believe in God to begin with,.. to me it just feels like still believing in Santa at this age.
