  • I know that there have been occasions when she has asked fans to borrow a keyboard, so that may be the reason she's playing a Yamaha here, instead of her usual Kurweil.

  • Amanda was really great that night; she played two or three sets; which was all last minute! This was at an Absinthe party titled Le Fete le Boum; which Absinthe wasn't legal again then, so it was kept pretty low key. I can't say she was anything close to being tipsy, but she and Paul both had a big louched glass of my Elixir de Fee du Pays Absinthe from Austria; Amanda was certainly having a great time.

  • I actually just got back from seeing her again tonight on her solo tour 'Who Killed Amanda Palmer' at the Great American Music Hall; if she comes near or close to your town be sure to check her out; great show! In mentioning, I really liked a cover tune she played that I believe was written by and Irish person last name Keene, "Watch mommy no hands"; great song and I would like to find out more information? Have a great tour Amanda, and say, "Hi" to Paul in Hanover for me!

  • she does seem drunk, lol, she messes up some of the words, but still awsome

  • no, they were different lyrics before the official recorded version came out.

  • Is she a socialist? Because that would be badass.

  • I much prefer the Kurzweil.

It's nicer than the Motif for piano.

Though, Motif is awesome for electronica/synth stuff.

It's no PC88 like what she has, but I just bought an SP88x and it is EPIC!!!

Love this song, ready to hear the album version coming up!

  • i can't wait to hear the recorded version of this on "No, Virginia" =]

  • Amanda Palmer, she is great she can be playing a plate with a spoon still she sounds amazing..

Drunk.. or high.. her music is the most amazing master piece ever..

She can make music with everything.. and still express the deepest feeling inside her.. So.. shhhhhhhhhh

  • i agree with the part about the yamaha. it sounds like one of those crappy electrics with a really bright sound almost like a vibraphone.

at the hollywood part, she gives one of those deer in the headlight looks, i thought that was really funny. what's up with the lines on her chest?? it looks like an autopsy tattoo.

  • You can tell that the crappy sound of that Yamaha is throwing off.

This is one of my favorite songs of hers EVER but this sounds like shit.

She also seems pretty drunk. Or something.

  • Yeah. I agree with the Yamaha. I know she likes the bright sound, but I think a grand piano sound would have worked much better. I don't think she's drunk, either... maybe a little tispy, but enough to think and function properly.

  • Not sure why she uses that Yamaha, actually. The Kurzweil has a far better sound.

I mainly say she seems drunk because of the bit where expands the "Hollywood" line. But it's not like she's falling off her piano seat. I just know from my own experience of performing music whilst drunk that... there are a lot of commonalities to this. It doesn't make it less entertaining though. Amanda is brilliant in any state.

  • Yeah. Amanda's trying to give the air of a completely brainwashed person, I believe.

And yes, I know what you mean about the Kurzweil. I switched from my Yamaha to a Kurzweil, just because I love the sound. :]
