I watched this scene today, and i started to yip (if that's a word) a bit, then tears just flowed from my eyes....that scene when Maggie was looking at Eric Tseng's dead body......i mean looking at it from 2012, there are scenes that doesn't work anymore or a bit racist...but at that time, i don't think it will be too much.....
It's amazes me how this movie shows how chances and opportunity for happiness can come about in life, you have to make the choice, not knowing the future and consequences.
i'm a cantonese-speakng malaysian chinese studying abroad in america. watched this in my room with a chinese friend who is learning cantonese. we absolutely loved it!!
@acatisfinetoowut a lot of uneducated ones are.. not all.. if they get decent education and grow up in the right environment, they are actually really good people. too bad that usually isn't the case.. thus things like this happen...
I cried the first time i saw this movie back in the 90's and still cry today when I see it again. What a great movie with beautiful sountrack! The song at the end by Teresa reminds me of when I was young and still lived with my grandparents. They always listened to her music.
Still, I am watching this film for the first time and although I like it enourmously, I find a bit of "Candy Candy" cartoon, with the two lovers being in the very same place and not seeing each other O__o

It is my second time watching it. I still find it very touching and sad. Both Maggie and Leon really did a wonderful job. They are very good!
