theres a similar vid for mercedes "faithful full" think it is. really astonishing car! that 2mill mile dude was wicked, how many times engine restored?
i worked in a chevy dealer seen silverados with over 1 million kilometres on them the best one i seen was a 2000 silverado 3500 gasoline just shy of 3 million kilometres driving from coast to coast hualing camp trailers thro all elements of weather and gets it regular service every 3 months for an lof and 6 months for a annual inspection no major motor work exept plugs and wires but that truck pulls in we all say "that truck says continue on with great trucks" GENERAL MOTORS chevy devision desi

my dad has a 02 chevy right now

i let mine go at 235,000 and she still started up EVERY morning, even after she got jump, been deep in mudd, and threw lots of trails, she is still out there runnin around today. God i love my chevys
I may prefer Ford and Toyota to Chevy trucks, but my neighbor has a 1993 Silverado 1500 ext cab 5.7L. The entire underside of the extended cab has rusted away, the cab mounts are gone, the bed is twisted, over 200K miles, but every time it starts right up. GM definitly makes great trucks.
This commercial is great to show people how great the Chevy trucks and vehicles were....but today OMG...so much plastic and god awful quality. My dad has an old silverado and it runs like a champ everyday. I would love to buy one like his. Its all original with only a few fixes that are expected on any car. But today they are terrible and I really hate that.
load off shit their all the same fords just better and older you know how chevy has 20,000,000 milles in experience yeah about half those trucks still run but they got to 20,000,000 miles isnt even put on the truck its put on the tow trucks that hauled them around from shop to shop cus the kept breakin down suck on that
@JDDownes96 I work as a farm equipment mechanic out of my Chevy 2500, purchased it new in 1990, It now has 422'576 miles on her, and the engine has never been touched and still feels like new. Pardon my language but you can suck on that sir.
300,000 miles is the new normal, for all manufacturers, for the most part. Point in case : '97 Blazer, 2wd., original automatic, original exhaust. 4.3 V6. 208,xxx miles.
@Mahaney82 yeh after you put 90 exhaust manifold gaskets on it. 10 water pumps 3 front ends. there junk my dad had a s10 yr 2000 with a 4.3 in it last to 389,000 miles and still ran good when he traded it in. he didnt like the look of the Colorado so he bought a FX4 ranger he wanted to trade it back in in a month. the front end is falling apart at 25,000 every seal is leaking on it, wheel bearings on and on, they wouldn't take it back lol
@cbr900rr919 I never had to change anything on mine aside from 1 alternator and a water pump. The rest has been general shit like brakes and oil changes. Not one serious problem at all. Bought brand new in 96 and does its job to this very day. Ive got nothing wrong with Chevy but one bad vehicle doesn't speak for a whole line of them. Sorry you Dad had bad experience. Shit happens. i bought an 05 silverado brand new, have had nothing but troubles with it ive been head to toe with minor to major problems and it only has 89,000 at 1200 miles the factory transmission went out , then a little under 10k it did the same thing , steering troubles , computer problems engines troubles rear end i could go on and on ... not to impressed with it but recently traded it for a new one, hope it's a little better

Im a chevy man. always have ben & always will be. I'd buy a ford or dodge tho cuz no matter what truck you have itll go forever just as long as you take care of her & treat her well...not like they treat them in the commercials. I hate how they ruin trucks for commercials
thats one of the best TV ads iv ever seen you dont get that with a toyota honda or any other japanese car only an American truck will last like the chevys in this add do for all thos people who say American cars suck well you can go suck a cock nothing tells you how good a car is than the test of time
@chevyman5744 the funny part is how do u know toyotas suck im sure u never owned one n probley wont iv had my truck for the last 22 years n never had one problem with it im at 146000 miles n iv seen toyota trucks go up to 600000 miles n still going
If you are at 146,000 miles after 22 years, you only drive it an average of 6,600 miles a year, or 550 miles a month. You hardly use it, that's why it hasn't given you any problems.
@st8pl8guy that doesnt mean shit as long as you take care of ur shit it will last forever just cause its not American doesent mean its a shit boxs i drive 11 miles to work and 11 back going at speeds of 70 and i do a lot of stopping and going i am 17 years old so im not babying this truck or beating the piss out of it was my fathers and he didnt go far with it to work its a everyday driver n i drive it im not here to fight with some guy on utube im just saying japanese trucks are not shit
Your rant does not change the fact that the vehicle has hardly been used. Put 75K miles on it in the next 5 years (15K per year), then come back and tell me how good the truck is.
@st8pl8guy ok like i said its not like i baby the truck i just got it from my dad n i running 22miles a day from work so miles are going up on the truck everyones got theit own likes i grew up in this truck n iv always wanted it n i just got it about 2 months ago i have full confident in it n i will keep u up dated ik this is not the fastest strongest sickest truck n im sure i can be beaten by any American truck but it more about memories then Performance so u enjoy ur truck n i will enjoy mine
I laugh at these guys below me arguing. Im a Chevy man but Im also the proud owner of a 1988 Toyota truck 4x4 (of course) the only foreign car I'll ever drive, Its just as reliable as any Chevy I've ever drove
@MrMK94. The day i get a "toy"ota is the day i DIE. Me i got a 91 Jeep Cherokee Limited with 138k miles and it Runs Like its brand New, O and Jeep Cherokees and Jeep Wrangers have been known to reach 500k miles with little or no problem at all, a "toy"ota the tranny with die at around 300k miles. All i have to say is a Jeep, Chevy Silverado or a Ford ranger will out last any "toy" ota.
I like the second one: 204,000. I'm not amazed by that! It's a truck- it should be durable. My cousin has had 2 Hondas with over 200K and had no problems with them. And at the beginning of this advert, it says "results not typical," LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MrMK94 it doesnt mean that a truck that gets over 200,000 miles isnt typical... it means a truck that gets over 2 milion miles and still runs after being in a fire are typical now lets see ur shitty ass honda and toyota trucks do that.... my neighbor just got a new toyota truck and after 1 month is tradin it in for a chevy ...... i guess some people dont like quality cars
@Nelly1293 look up "Top Gear Toyota Destruction" or something like that on YouTube. You'll see what Toyota trucks are all about. THe newer ones, I will admit, aren't as good as the old ones, tho.
@DickotheClown i can argue that ,,,its nice the way they showed a chevy truck after a fire and it started..my 90 grand marquis did the same thing..it was in a bad garage fire 2 years ago ..i cleaned off everything that was melted to it ..busted out what was left of the garage door..cleaned a path for it..got inside and hit the key and the stereo came on and the a/c was blowing ice cold ..it was like looking at christine as it sat in the alley all burnt up ..2 years later the car is still going
My dad had a 91' Chevy Silverado that made it to 751,000 miles, My grandmother had a 89' Mercury Grand Marquis that made it to 486,000 miles. (Now she has a 08' Chevy Impala with 50,000 miles.) I have a 93' Chevy Cavalier with 130,000 and stills runs perfect. My friend has a 2006 Toyota with 16,000 miles and he is having lots of problems with it.
The only thing I can say is buy American or move to Japan.
1994 Sierra SLE, 264,000 miles . . hard as a rock! 1998 Lumina LTZ, 214,000 miles. up until 20,000 miles ago, besides belts, spark plugs and wires at 110,000, the only service that had ever been done to it was gas and oil changes.
i find it funny how after this ad toyota tried to make an ad like this. too bad toyota has far fewer million mile vehicles. the only toyota trucks that can even hope of getting 1 million miles are the older small compact ones
with all the problems i have had with gm products , i cannot bring myself to buy an import pickup . i would rather have to kick the dash on a gm to get the ac to work , than worry about frame rot on a toyota
@Broadcastbuddy2. its not that hard. shit i know members that drive well over that every day. its called traveling for work. 187 miles is not really that much in a day. i used to drive 200 everyday round trip for work just cause i didnt want to live in the shit hole that i was working in.
@JustinHansen6669 And also, youd have to keep track of the odometer turning over 20+ times. I've also never heard of this truck making it into the news or any other site(s). Face it, it just didn't happen.
@Broadcastbuddy2 you never heard it cause the guy dont give a shit what other people think. yea he does keep track of it, thats the only way to know. its called writing down every 100,000 miles. not hard at all. i dont need to show you proof, iv seen it for myself and thats what i know.
@JustinHansen6669 My god you're ignorant! If there is actually 2 million miles, I'm sure NOTHING on that truck is original besides the frame and body. Use your brain for crying out loud!!! Think things through!
@Broadcastbuddy2, ok smart one go back through the conversation. did i ever once fucking say something about 2 million miles... answer NO. however i did say that it wasnt hard to drive 187 miles a day. i aint the one that needs to use my brain.
And I quote "yea he does keep track of it....i dont need to show you proof, iv seen it for myself and thats what i know." Yeah, I think you AINT using your brain.
@Broadcastbuddy2 i travel 150 miles on a short day on week ends. 45 minute drive each way its not that hard to imagine someone driving way farther than that each day. In my 92' 210000 miles and going strong.
@Hitlo58 Both of you guys are retarted. I've never heard of a contractor driving for over 3 hours EVERY day including Sundays, Holidays, weekends. Face it, It just isnt true. Its GM propaganda. Now I'll believe in a truck with a million miles on it, not two million. There's no way that guy made any money driving that far anyways. Its stupid to even consider that milage.
@Broadcastbuddy2 hey i never said i was a contractor, and i have driven quite a bit further. and i never said i was working. think before you type please. but if it makes you feal better it would seem hard to make money that way.
as the headline says:--"STORIES".,STORIES AINT gonna get the job done except for sleep camps, want the best??git rid of the nightmare, git yourself a FORD.
@nitrostang50 - Nightmare? I have worked as a mechanic for Ford, Chevy and Toyota, and I had to push more vehicles into the shop at Ford than I did at Chevy and Toyota - combined. You keep dumping parts into your Ford - I'll keep my 1993 Silverado with 188,000 miles that still runs as smoothly and reliably as it did when it was new.
@ChevyTrucks352 YES NIGHTMARE,I know you are proud of your truck,I am too,I am not gonna be a whiner, but Im a mechanic too,and my ranger has got: RIGHT NOW: 310,088 miles on it (and thats a six cylinder at that)and she still runs great,so when you "GET IT UP" THERE,feel free to comment.
@nitrostang50 It is a good thing to get that many miles from any vehicle, I won't deny that. It is a good mark for a domestic vehicle as well, but until you reach the one or two million mile mark like these people have, then you have some real bragging rights.
@ChevyTrucks352 we'll do.and I encourage you to do the same, cause lets face it,money is scarce with the economy we been having, and it makes perfect sense to keep these trucks running as long as we can,to save money rather than buying a new one all the time.
@ChevyTrucks352 Amen, my 98 tahoes got 131k miles and still going strong like a new one. Hauling cars, pulling trailors, quads/dirtbikes , plowing snow you name it. She runs like a dream! Chevy trucks, the longest lasting trucks on the road!!! LIKE A ROCk
Well that's so that there's no one complaining, "Oh, well howcome my Chevy truck broke down before it got 2 million miles on it?" I see what you're saying, but it's kind of a legal thing i guess.
i had always grown up not liking american cars. thought the four and 6 cylinder american cars were garbage.but i can say one thing, those v8 american cars do last and got balls.respect for the V8s
chevy's straight-6 engines are good... a fuel-injection 250cid version was offered till '98 in brazilian versions of the opel omega and till '99 in argentinian-made silverado as gm never made any v8 in brazil or argentina... there was even a 292cid straight-6 intended for use in trucks and buses... even some 6-wheel drive military trucks had this engine...
the american 4 and 6 cylinders arent garbage either. i have 2 cavalier both very reliable cars and i guy i work with has a 2001 sunfire with 220K on it. the 2.2 is a strong little 4 cylinder. i do have my mighty v8 as well, she's a 89 camaro with a 350 tbi swap, basically a truck engine. awesome little engine. lots of torque, reliable, one of the best
@WedidLandONtheMOON America and China are the only two countries who REALLY like American cars! Everbody else buys European and Japanese cars... I think you can see where I'm going with this... American cars SUCK! And even when they try, they fail. For example, the GMC Terrain (which is suppossed to be good) lost a Car and Driver or Motor Trend comparison of small SUVs. The 2011 Honda CR-V, a 5 year old design, won!
@MrMK94 so ur saying that the reason why american cas suck is because the magazines dont approve of them? see wat this means is that u cant make ur own decisions u have to base them on other peoples opinions? I feel bad for you
@MrMK94 so ur saying that the reason why american cars suck is because the magazines dont approve of them? see wat this means is that u cant make ur own decisions u have to base them on other peoples opinions? I feel bad for you
1968 Chevrolet C20 Pickup here, Gramps bought it new, gifted it to me in 2002, 3rd engine now and over 827,000 miles on the clock, Have the Original Engine sitting on a Stand in the Garage, Trans and Diff are Original and have never been Rebuilt, NP435 4spd Trans and GM Corporate Rear /w 4.10 gears Lets See a Honda, Toyota or any other import manufacturer do that!
there has been a million mile civic. and a couple million mile toyotas. And if you say it's not even the original engine. Then it doesn't count. You probably don't even have any knowledge of how many times the engine had to be rebuilt.
@sms373 Yeah, cause more hp and torque to the wheels of the Tundra than the silverado 5.3 (most common engine) makes period is having less hp than the silverado. Yeah, you can get the 6/2, for 42,000 dollars. YOu can get a 5.7 tundra fro 25,000. And the Tacoma is still the most powerfull compact with the common engine. And Chevy dont even make anything comparable to the 4Runner. And Sequoia is far better than anything on a chevy lot. Drive a Toyota for 17 years, and see which one is better.
@033312 Guess what you would be wrong I had a 1986 chevy pick up. Had a little miss hap at the boat launch it spent 4hr under salt water after pulling the plugs and getting the water out in the parking lot I drove it home, went the garage burt down guess what was inside f***ed it up bad but with creative wiring tires glass lites 2 days Iwas diving it again, My buddy barrel rolled it down a hillIt was FUBAR, BUT he drove it 50mi back to my house, its now just a farm truck, and its still going
had an 89 chevy scottsdale 1500 had 244,000mi on it when original trans went out. can't beat that. now I have a 94 chevy silverado with 180,000 on it. you can see it on my page
my 1993 silverado 5.7 350 indi pace truck 119,789 all original same motor tranny everything and still huals ass like new my 2003 silverado 4.3 122,695 still huals ass like new my 2002 chevy tracker with 102,234 miles still drives like new chevy for life !!!!
Anyone with "man" in their name is automatically a child. This is proven by your childish idea that Fords are better based simply on the fact that GM was bailed out... Even though they were in their straights due to reasons completely unrelated to their vehicles.
Since you're a Ford"man", I'm sure you've heard of Ron White? You might recognize this.
Its got 224,000 miles on it, original engine, rebuilt transmission, was gonna be scraped but I bought it, and its still goin strong after 8 owners, and me bein the final owner of this truck, this is one sweet ride.

Chevy might have lower truck sales than ford, but GM doesn't.
the only reason ford is known for having more is because they don't rebadge their f-150 into anything else really
if you combine sales of chevy silverado and gmc sierra, they have more sales, they are identical trucks too...

thats one of the best TV ads iv ever seen you dont get that with a toyota honda or any other japanese car only an American truck will last like the chevys in this add do for all thos people who say American cars suck well you can go suck a cock nothing tells you how good a car is than the test of time
chevyman5744 11 months ago 27
@chevyman5744 the funny part is how do u know toyotas suck im sure u never owned one n probley wont iv had my truck for the last 22 years n never had one problem with it im at 146000 miles n iv seen toyota trucks go up to 600000 miles n still going
4JeepxJK4 5 months ago
@4JeepxJK4
If you are at 146,000 miles after 22 years, you only drive it an average of 6,600 miles a year, or 550 miles a month. You hardly use it, that's why it hasn't given you any problems.
st8pl8guy 5 months ago
@st8pl8guy that doesnt mean shit as long as you take care of ur shit it will last forever just cause its not American doesent mean its a shit boxs i drive 11 miles to work and 11 back going at speeds of 70 and i do a lot of stopping and going i am 17 years old so im not babying this truck or beating the piss out of it was my fathers and he didnt go far with it to work its a everyday driver n i drive it im not here to fight with some guy on utube im just saying japanese trucks are not shit
4JeepxJK4 5 months ago
@4JeepxJK4
Your rant does not change the fact that the vehicle has hardly been used. Put 75K miles on it in the next 5 years (15K per year), then come back and tell me how good the truck is.
st8pl8guy 5 months ago
@st8pl8guy ok like i said its not like i baby the truck i just got it from my dad n i running 22miles a day from work so miles are going up on the truck everyones got theit own likes i grew up in this truck n iv always wanted it n i just got it about 2 months ago i have full confident in it n i will keep u up dated ik this is not the fastest strongest sickest truck n im sure i can be beaten by any American truck but it more about memories then Performance so u enjoy ur truck n i will enjoy mine

@FortisBong YOu should get a Toyota.
MrMK94 1 year ago
WedidLandONtheMOON 1 year ago
I like the second one: 204,000. I'm not amazed by that! It's a truck- it should be durable. My cousin has had 2 Hondas with over 200K and had no problems with them. And at the beginning of this advert, it says "results not typical," LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MrMK94 1 year ago
@MrMK94 it doesnt mean that a truck that gets over 200,000 miles isnt typical... it means a truck that gets over 2 milion miles and still runs after being in a fire are typical now lets see ur shitty ass honda and toyota trucks do that.... my neighbor just got a new toyota truck and after 1 month is tradin it in for a chevy ...... i guess some people dont like quality cars

I have a 93' Chevy Cavalier with 130,000 and stills runs perfect. My friend has a 2006 Toyota with 16,000 miles and he is having lots of problems with it.

2 million mile truck, Bullshit...
2,048,402 / 30 = 68,280 miles a year. 68,280 / 365 = 187 miles driven per DAY, EVERY DAY FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS. Its BULLSHIT.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2. its not that hard. shit i know members that drive well over that every day. its called traveling for work. 187 miles is not really that much in a day. i used to drive 200 everyday round trip for work just cause i didnt want to live in the shit hole that i was working in.
JustinHansen6669 1 year ago
@JustinHansen6669 And also, youd have to keep track of the odometer turning over 20+ times. I've also never heard of this truck making it into the news or any other site(s). Face it, it just didn't happen.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 you never heard it cause the guy dont give a shit what other people think. yea he does keep track of it, thats the only way to know. its called writing down every 100,000 miles. not hard at all. i dont need to show you proof, iv seen it for myself and thats what i know.
JustinHansen6669 1 year ago
@JustinHansen6669 My god you're ignorant! If there is actually 2 million miles, I'm sure NOTHING on that truck is original besides the frame and body. Use your brain for crying out loud!!! Think things through!
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2, ok smart one go back through the conversation. did i ever once fucking say something about 2 million miles... answer NO. however i did say that it wasnt hard to drive 187 miles a day. i aint the one that needs to use my brain.
JustinHansen6669 1 year ago
@JustinHansen6669 You might want to read your previous comment.
And I quote "yea he does keep track of it....i dont need to show you proof, iv seen it for myself and thats what i know." Yeah, I think you AINT using your brain.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 i travel 150 miles on a short day on week ends. 45 minute drive each way its not that hard to imagine someone driving way farther than that each day. In my 92' 210000 miles and going strong.
Hitlo58 1 year ago
@Hitlo58 Both of you guys are retarted. I've never heard of a contractor driving for over 3 hours EVERY day including Sundays, Holidays, weekends. Face it, It just isnt true. Its GM propaganda. Now I'll believe in a truck with a million miles on it, not two million. There's no way that guy made any money driving that far anyways. Its stupid to even consider that milage.
Broadcastbuddy2 1 year ago
@Broadcastbuddy2 hey i never said i was a contractor, and i have driven quite a bit further. and i never said i was working. think before you type please. but if it makes you feal better it would seem hard to make money that way.

ChevyTrucks352 1 year ago
@ChevyTrucks352 YES NIGHTMARE,I know you are proud of your truck,I am too,I am not gonna be a whiner, but Im a mechanic too,and my ranger has got: RIGHT NOW: 310,088 miles on it (and thats a six cylinder at that)and she still runs great,so when you "GET IT UP" THERE,feel free to comment.
nitrostang50 1 year ago 2
@nitrostang50 It is a good thing to get that many miles from any vehicle, I won't deny that. It is a good mark for a domestic vehicle as well, but until you reach the one or two million mile mark like these people have, then you have some real bragging rights.
ChevyTrucks352 1 year ago
@ChevyTrucks352 we'll do.and I encourage you to do the same, cause lets face it,money is scarce with the economy we been having, and it makes perfect sense to keep these trucks running as long as we can,to save money rather than buying a new one all the time.

@ChevyTrucks352 Amen, my 98 tahoes got 131k miles and still going strong like a new one. Hauling cars, pulling trailors, quads/dirtbikes , plowing snow you name it. She runs like a dream! Chevy trucks, the longest lasting trucks on the road!!! LIKE A ROCk

chevy's straight-6 engines are good... a fuel-injection 250cid version was offered till '98 in brazilian versions of the opel omega and till '99 in argentinian-made silverado as gm never made any v8 in brazil or argentina... there was even a 292cid straight-6 intended for use in trucks and buses... even some 6-wheel drive military trucks had this engine...

@zOiNhUh agreed i had a 71 chevy c10 in high school with a straight six could'nt kill it.

the american 4 and 6 cylinders arent garbage either. i have 2 cavalier both very reliable cars and i guy i work with has a 2001 sunfire with 220K on it. the 2.2 is a strong little 4 cylinder. i do have my mighty v8 as well, she's a 89 camaro with a 350 tbi swap, basically a truck engine. awesome little engine. lots of torque, reliable, one of the best

The 2011 Honda CR-V, a 5 year old design, won!

there has been a million mile civic. and a couple million mile toyotas. And if you say it's not even the original engine. Then it doesn't count. You probably don't even have any knowledge of how many times the engine had to be rebuilt.

ethen24 1 year ago
@sms373 Yeah, cause more hp and torque to the wheels of the Tundra than the silverado 5.3 (most common engine) makes period is having less hp than the silverado. Yeah, you can get the 6/2, for 42,000 dollars. YOu can get a 5.7 tundra fro 25,000. And the Tacoma is still the most powerfull compact with the common engine. And Chevy dont even make anything comparable to the 4Runner. And Sequoia is far better than anything on a chevy lot. Drive a Toyota for 17 years, and see which one is better.
Motorfordtoyota 1 year ago
@Motorfordtoyota dude the tundra has the worst durability in a pickup on the market today. old toyotas last forever though.
