  • What do u feed them lol theyre huge

  • @reptalk101 They eat frozen thawed colossal rats. Each rat is about the size of an adult Guinea Pig and they each eat two every two weeks in the spring and summer.

  • Absolutely magnificent! What beautiful, beautiful creatures.

Grumpy is quite the talker! How funny. Neither of my boa girls talk much, but my Borneo python goes on and on. Of course he's a big sweetie, he just likes to pout.

Keep up the excellent work; those are some very lucky animals you have. :)

  • @totalwombatfan Thank you sincerely !!! I really love his vocalizing and think that's something I've always loved about the Burmese and African Rock Pythons they are so vocal. It's so unique to see him respond to my voice and we've actually carried on a conversation for an hour on several occasions. I consider myself the lucky one, they have taught me so much and have totally filled my life with awe and happiness :O)

  • Oh wow... That's so funny. I had no idea snakes had such personality. And one that hates mornings, to boot! :D Amazing.

  • @looktothehorizon Oh Yeah !!!! Grumpy wakes up like this every morning unless I allow him to wake up on his own. He's VERY vocal and loves to share his opinion with me LOL Thank you he really seldom strikes just likes to complain and this isn't hissing when they hiss they vibrate their entire enclosure ROFL

  • @1softkiss thats cute!!! =D i like snakes! too bad i cant have them as pets. i have enough! -D i mainly have fish and 1 turtle! =D there beautifal creatures!

  • @stantheman781 Thank you and I'm really sorry you can't have them to raise but you can always observe them in the wild and learn from them :O) I'd be lost without snakes to take care of and for companions. Snakes are awesome and perhaps someday they can teach people how to be more respectful of them and nature through educaton .

  • @1softkiss thankyou! =D you know what? when i was a little kid there was a snake in my moms house because one of he cats dragged it in. i was very young. i picked it up and released it. the cats ould have killed it. it was a bright green baby garter snake. and its windy on my end... =S to this day i havent seen it. maybe it went somewhere else. there is a place called the gamefarm here in kentucky. it has alot of animals like bees and snakes and takess really good care of them! THUNDER!!!! ARG!

  • @stantheman781 I really think nature and animals have caught on to people and how destructive they can be and how cruel they sometimes are especially to animals out in the wild. Animals have a sense that allows them to distinguish between a threat and someone that isn't a predator but unfortunately they aren't always in a position to defend themselves. :O(

  • @1softkiss i at least saved the snake from being chewed up from the cats. i have new found respect for them now. =D

  • @stantheman781 Oddly enough now all animals will kill a snake but I've had cats in the past that would find them and bring them to my door and set them down sort of like a reward or to show gratitude. :O)

  • @1softkiss ??? dang cats...trying to think we like them more that snakes... >_>

  • @stantheman781 LOL I guess that's makes them great hunters to bring home a snake instead of a chipmunk or a rat.

  • @1softkiss rolf.. >_>

  • @looktothehorizon Actually you could take ten snakes all from the same parents and each will have different likes and dislikes and temperament and personalities. They are just as individual as human beings are :O)

  • LMAO...... i really needed that tonight! He made me giggle :o) Yep...... he's sexie and he knows it!!LOL

  • @Karmacode2012 And men say women talk too much LOL You should see the way Nosey looks at him when he gets in one of his vocal moods. It's like" ok kid what's your dang problem?" She really stares at him like he's a mental case or something. ROFL They are great fun and comical but at ALL times i have to consider their moods and read their body language or I can be put in a bad situation for sure. It takes many years of constant handling to learn to read them. I'm glad you enjoy my videos !!

  • @1softkiss LMAO! I can just see Nosey's face in my mind as she's looking at Grump!!! I think your very brave with your snakes. Lets face it if those snakes really wanted to hurt someone, they could do some damage!

  • @Karmacode2012 yu would seriously have to see the way she looks at him it's funny as heck. I'm not brave actually just I've learned to read their movements and their dispositions and can pretty well judge the kind of mood they are in as soon as I approach their enclosure. II've only been bit maybe 6 times in 49 years. I never approach my snakes if I'm stressed out or nervous about anything because they can read that in a person and they use that to their advantage but thank you tons :O)

  • love it when u tell grump to stop and he talks back ....... see they are like us in many ways and when asked are u cranky he told u how cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  • @cornsnakesareus Snakes are very much like humans. They each have their own personality, their own temperaments and their own likes and dislikes. Thing is one can be in a miserable mood for a few hours and I can persist on petting the cranky one and after about ten minutes the snake will calm right down and stop giving me lip service. LOL My female never complains and my male never stops vocalizing. He's too funny and my female looks at him like he's nuts. LOL

  • I'm the same way before I have my coffee.

  • @norge88 LOL I have friends that are also... fortunately I don't have that problem I just move in slower motion until I've downed a couple of cups.

  • o idk i wasnet thinking

  • got a strong feeling of impending doom watching this vid haha..whats wrong with a puppy for a pet..

  • @rebelwithoutapause25 NO, actually Grumpy just likes to vocalize and talks a lot. LOL He's not a mean snake just likes to speak his mind unlike his counterpart Nosey my female. As long as he's talking he never strikes at me but it's when he's quiet after venting I have to be cautious with him. If I wake him up he will vent for an hour straight sometimes. I own a 12 year old deaf siamese cat .

  • That's the distinct sound of a Respiratory infection, Take him to the VET ASAP!

  • @ConstrictorsINC LOL Sorry, you are sadly mistaken. The only time he makes this sound is when he's upset. I've had snakes for 46 years and an VERY well aware of the symptoms of respiratory infections in snakes. Thanks for your concerns however.

  • WAY TO SMALL OF OF A TANK

  • @megadeath4uall Right LOL They have 28 feet of floor space in 3 adjoining enclosures and their outdoor one is all glass and is 13 feet long.

  • thats a whole lot of boa!

  • @JAMIEtheGANGSTA LOL AAAhhh he was all coiled up so you really couldn't see his size that well but you sure can in the new video I just put up today LOL

  • The name you gave him is so cute though LOL!

  • @jxz107 Thank you I've always thought it fit him well. He can be a real chatterbox sometimes and I reckon I'd rather have him talking than striking and biting. :O)

  • You certainly gave him the right name hahahah, he is a grumpy ole thing!!

  • @albinoburm It was either Grumpy or motor mouth ROFL He loves to speak his mind and does it quite too often little butt head he is sometimes.

  • I think Grumpy needs his morning cup of coffee, too!

I really love the way you talk to them. The sound of your voice must be so reassuring to them, no matter what mood they are in.

  • @ZooVisitorMM Thank you Merry :O) I really have mixed feelings about snakes and why I feel research needs to be continued. Most say snakes can't hear but they have a sense that humans don't have and I've seen many reactions from them just on what I say with my voice. I've said, "Get Down" and the snake will drop to the floor and I've been louder than my normal tone and they will retreat to the other end of the enclosure. Actually, Grumpy and I were having a conversation of sorts.

  • @1softkiss There is no doubt in my mind that he is reacting to the sound of your voice as well as to your touch. I think if he didn't have someone like you caring for him, he would be fierce, not just occasionally grumpy.

Also, as someone who thinks a lot of unusual, far out thoughts about animals, I think even if snakes can't hear, they may have 3 or 4 other senses we are not even aware of that can detect even our inner voices!

  • @ZooVisitorMM I realized toward the beginning of the video when I said good morning Grumpy at 1.07 in the video without touching him he reacted and came forward when I spoke to him. Also, in one of the previous videos I told Nosey to get down and she dropped to the floor so there HAS to be more to it. I'm not lucid and I'm totally aware of their reactions but I have to wonder if it's more than them reacting to the vibration of a voice.

  • @ZooVisitorMM I walked over to the enclosure this morning and just stood there watching them and Grumpy came up to the front door and just started talking away like mad again. I was going bonkers trying to figure out what his problem was and their open face enclosure is across the room from my air conditioner and about twenty minutes after I turned the AC on he calmed right down. With our hot weather and high humidity he wasn't comfortable with it because they don't like high heat or humidity.

  • Grumpy is such a vocal snake,no aggression there atall just moody lol

    Great video!

  • @DeadlyVenom84 Thank you sincerely. Yeah, technically Grumpy and I were just conversing between the two of us. I do this a lot with my snakes and he was just upset because I woke him up so was telling me he wasn't happy about it more or less. LOL I never felt threatened by his complaints because he and I do this often. It's so funny the looks he gets from Nosey when he acts like this LOL

  • @DeadlyVenom84 I agree - he didn't look at all aggressive. In fact, it looked like he was just trying to pretend he was grumpy.

It is so amazing to see individual personalities in all kinds of animals, especially reptiles, which many people think don't do much of anything other than lie around waiting for food to come close.

  • hmm interesting vid =) didnt know boas made such voices. well, lol, now i do. oh and im getting the terrarium today =D and the ball will come tomorrow morning! =) ill try to make a vid or upload some pics next sunday, as my saturday is really packed

    DominusTerrae

  • @DominusTerrae That is truly awesome and I'm SO HAPPY for you to finally be getting a snake of your own to love and care for. You will find them very rewarding even on their not so good days sort of like this one with Grumpy LOL After he gets done complaining he calms right down and can be handled. I will definitely be looking forward to seeing your new loved one in some pictures or videos or both ;O)

  • Haha i love this video, i know when they hiss like that they are kranky but i still think it's cute haha yea i'm wierd

  • @GishDiva It was funny because I know from experience with Grumpy he just wanted to speak his mind and let me know he wasn't happy with me. I actually laughed at him because he just wouldn't stop complaining and to be here and see it for sure was cute and funny. As long as he's running his mouth he never shows any further aggression toward me. LOL

  • thats great

  • @bullbags1 Thank You!!!!

  • I know you said grumpy is predictable but you still arnt even the slightest bit worried about him striking at you???? Great vid by the way

  • @tsshields51 No, not at all. I can read Nosey and Grumpy's body language and if he's talking he doesn't strike. He's just vocalizing and it wasn't done to show aggression or with intentions of biting me that's why it was so funny he was just voicing his opinion more or less. He was just upset because I woke him up. The Argentines don't hiss or give any warning when they strike to bite so I know if he's talking he won't strike me. Thank you for the nice comment and the compliment on the video :O)

  • awww! Argentines have some wicked hisses sometimes! he sounds like hes purring more than hissing haha, guess thats him hissing while he's half asleep.. "mama nooooo i dont wanna go to school *hiss*"

  • @DraoiSidhe He wasn't actually hissing like he is totally capable of he was just complaining. Big difference when he has his mouth wide open hissing for sure. He gargles at me when he's just complaining. :O) Yeah, he wasn't in a bad mood was just being a little cranky and didn't appreciate me waking him up. Thank you for watching and for the cool comment :O)

  • Has his Hiss always sounded like that? He sounds congested.

  • @redrider187x He wasn't technically hissing and his breathing is fine. The air conditioner was running in the background. When he really open mouth hisses he rattles the cage. He wasn't technically hissing for him he was just complaining.

  • @redrider187x When he is being vocal and just complaining he sounds like he's gurgling in comparison to his wide open mouth hiss.

  • @1softkiss wow that"s cool, I guess he is a Grump Then lol! My Burms and Retic"s Just Hiss when there Grumpy, Ive Never Heard them Make any gargling or other vocal Noises. Boa"s are very Interesting.

  • @redrider187x Yeah, Grumpy has always been extremely vocal he's a big baby actually always complaining and my female Nosey never complains. Think their genetics and gender got confused it's usually the female of most species that do most of the complaining. LOL

  • To Funny,I Guess Grumpy Is Not A Morning Snake,But Who Is,Huffing And Puffing,I Guess He Woke Up On The Wrong Side Of The Enclosure,Sweet Vid Carla!~Thumbs Up!!

  • @gerijuana Thank you :O) Yeah, he can for sure be a character and he has me laughing at him constantly. I feel bad because I find him funny but it's hysterical to hear how loud he really gets trying to speak his mind. LOL Funny part Nosey kept looking around the back at him like,"what the hell is wrong with you?".

  • cute grumpyhead :P

  • @dallasdrummer Thanks he's a good dude actually just likes my total attention sometimes.

  • @1softkiss yeah my retic is the same way lol

  • LOL I love those open mouth shots! He sounded like a little mini-motor running. Motor mouth might be a good name too lol! Not a morning snake I guess. I hate the mornings too so I can relate haha

  • What a big baby!! hes beautiful! you have a wonderful relationship with them. thanks for sharing!

  • @prodigy5150 Isn't he though? :O) He loves to give me a hard time just to test me and see if I will back off which I never do. Eventually he will stop and go hide in the corner. Thanks a ton for the compliment on "Mr. Mouth". He sure got my day off with a very fast adrenalin charge this morning even without my coffee. Grumpy is extremely predictable for sure and as long as he's talking he won't strike. LOL

  • Take it he doesn't strike? All show huh lol? Beautiful creature anyway :)

  • @BeneethTheSurface Thank you actually he's very predictable. As long as he's complaining he won't strike but the problem with him is he strikes on a dime out of nowhere without warning. But, it's easy to see it coming watching his body language. He sure can rattle the windows with his mouth though sometimes. LOL
