Its a nice place to live except the streets are terrible. I have lived here for 34 years and galena has the worst streets and sidewalks in the tristate area. why is that?
Galena is an awesome place to visit!! I would love to live there someday! I was surprised at how nice the people were there compared to most of Illinois. Illinois has some of the most rude people I have ever met, with the exception of Galena. It took a long time to be talked into visiting Illinois and I am glad I gave in on this beautiful city.
I used to visit my grandma in the territory every summer. I love this town and the surrounding country, to bad people are starting to ruin it buy building new homes everywhere.

Galena is the speeding ticket capital of Illinois!
If your from out of town you'll most likely get one.

I have lived here my whole life, and i love my heritage here! My great grandfather mined the lead in the 1800's. Family history goes way back!

my parents have a cottage up there i love it..its hard to get around tho..but makes it more interesting type town
