  • Whats that i hear?

    GREEN SOCIALISM!

  • CARBON PRICE - SAY NO

  • To all those respondents below you might find it useful to read all the facts and not that which fits your point of view then make an informed decision rather than just the rhetoric of others. The carbon tax is not perfect but it is a step in the right direction. I ask the question, what are you doing toward creating a sustainable futures? How are you involved in helping yourself, family and friends secure a future that is better or at least the same as we have now

  • wow this is a good idea... if your and idiot

  • The carbon tax he's are massive bung for nuclear power and he is illegal and European law or

  • That is unless we can get ocean hydro off the ground.

  • After this carbon tax, the cummulative expense of extortionate power bills multiplied through the supply chain will make local goods even more expensive.

This tax has the ability to do all harm and no good.

  • The only thing that makes nuclear energy viable in Australia is a carbon tax.

For that unstable uninsurable nuclear power, every household, business, charity, factory, officeblock etc. will be paying much more for thier essential electricity.

When our power bills double and then triple to subsidise local nuclear industry, everyone will be the losers.

  • DONT BELIEVE THE CARBON TAX, LET ME ASK YOU WHAT YOU BREATH OUT CARBON DIOXIDE! THEY WANT TO TAX YOU FOR LIVING DONT GO THROUGH WITH THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY TAX FOR LIVING THIS VIDEO IS JUST STUPID ITS MAKING YOU THINK HAVING A CARBON TAX IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROTECT THE ECOSYSTEMS OF THE WORLD. ITS FUCKTARD PROPAGANDA. IF YOU WANT TO PROTECT THE WORLD LOOK UP PERMACULTURE JUST 1 OF MANY WAYS TO DO THING RIGHT

  • 0.0387% of the Earths atmosphere is CO2.

97% of that is naturally occurring.

Of that tiny 3%, Australia contributes towards a small 1.5%.

Climate change or global warming, whatever you want to call it, is naturally occurring.

  • Carbon Dioxide is natural. It is what we breathe out and what trees absorb to build on. The more CO2 the faster plants including crops and forests grow. This is a con and the scientists know it. There is a greater agenda with this, One World Government control.

The sun activity controls the weather. I am not speaking against real pollution but this is nonsense.

  • Holy fucking shit. Is this video real or a piss take??

Who says that this decade is where effort needs to be made or else??? Who? These anonymous experts should put their money where their mouth is and back up their promises with a money back guarantee. No change in temp after say 5 years equals all money returned to tax payers. Clear, precise evidence printed and sent to every home to prove that man made global warming exists. Until then these crooked, evil, lying bastards can go boil their h

  • what a fukin load of fukin bullfukin propaganda fukin shit

  • I don't know why I bothered to find this video. Any body who wants to stop further climate change this is the most cost effective way to reduce emissions to the government and oppositions targets of 95% of 2000 levels by 2020. period! (I have a HD average in economics so far in my economics degree at monash university)

  • Less coal power stations means more nuclear power plants.

The bill is paid by ordinary Australians.

The entire unethical mess is underwritten by BHP's Olympic dam uranium mine, the sales of its radioactive poison.

  • 9 /10 households will recieve assistance, that's not good enough... so 220 000 families will be forgotten.... NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

  • @TheItchyFetus

Over 4 million Australian households will get an extra buffer with assistance that covers 120% of the average price impact of the carbon price. Over 1 million Australians will no longer need to lodge a tax return. On average, it will cost households $9.90 per week but they get $10.10 per week in assistance This assistance is permanent and will increase. The Government will review the adequacy of assistance each year and will increase it further if necessary.

  • Breaking news we are made of Carbon.

  • thank fucking god we finally have a carbon tax, now we can actually do something about climate change instead of sitting on our ass while tony abbot blocks everything which comes his way

  • @dopeyafro

Maety the more I think about it the more we should just start bumping of humans.

This would save making it to hard for people to survive under the burden of so many different sorts of tax.

Its in keeping with the current ethos that animals are more important than humans.

AND it would allow Australia's PM to see his dream materialise, no mines, no fishing, no dams, no power stations, no business and a non reproducing population of married fags and lessos!

    Thatylfuckem!

  • The Science says we must act now? The scientists who are lefties. Smart businesses will look to ways to find better clean energy solutions. Naaahhh just bump up the bills to consumers.

In saying that my understanding is China Canada, India, the US and others do support Australias desire to kill off dirty business and the sooner the better as thier economies are suffering so the sooner they can get more exports into Oz, well the better they will be.

Ahso fank voo Owstwalia, velly march! Ahso!

  • @Inconvenientruths Nice racism there. Why is there so much of this in the ranks of the deniers?

  • @topologyrob Crikey Sport, safe the racism shit for someone that gives a toss.

Yes I do accept you lefties use it when all else fails but you see it only means something to lefties.

As for deniers, just because sceptics want some sort of proof and dont use drugs.the "evil" dont really need a title because they need some truth not propaganda.

  • @Inconvenientruths sorry, mate - as well as displaying racism, you're clearly a sucker for propaganda. I guess the two often go together. you're certainly not a sceptic if you buy the transparent lies of the propagandists - just like they lied to you about smoking and cancer they're lying to you about carbon pollution.

  • @topologyrob

Please spare me the racism crap, it only means something to you, I have no requirement to go home at night and tell the missus how nice I am.

As for the propaganda, I confess because it is a left and right wing politics, Who knows if anyone actually knows the truth! I was there when the Y2K ended the world, when the Crown of Thorns destroyed the reef and when the last 5 surviving Dugongs were eaten by Abo's.

No one bloody well knows the truth, its all just left n right!

  • @Inconvenientruths Sorry mate, you don't get let off the hook that easily. You're living in a society, and we don't put up with that sort of degradation of people. We know the truth because of the evidence, which is clear and factual. It's published in scientific journals. Now grow up before you embarrass yourself any further.

  • @topologyrob

I was just wondering, have your comments / attitude got anything to do with my Dad?

  • @Inconvenientruths No, they are just the sounds sane people make in the face of your behaviour

  • @topologyrob

Fair comment, I thought it may have just been because Dad used to kill commies!

  • so is this a good thing or a bad thing, i'm confused

  • @schpoogie well Gillard has carbon cops who can now come into to YOUR home without a warrant and check ur appliances (How many u have as we will have to give an inventory of ALL electrical applinces to the govt ) and if u have lied you will be prosecuted. Police need warrants but carbon cops cna walk into to ur home and u are NOT allowed to refuse. This is TOTALITARIAN govt. I am now afraid of the govt.l Very Afraid. When ppl R afraid its called TYANNY! Carbon tax will RULE every aspect of life

  • Comment removed

  • @schpoogie EVERY aspect of life will be taxed. Prices of food will go up as it takes energy to produce food, transport food, store food in warehouses and packaging etc. Carbon Tax is a tax on YOUR LIFE. We will never be free with this tax. We are so screwed. The govt deliberately dont tell ppl how it will affect their lives and prices. We will all be pushed back to a feudalistic times...........not str8 away but certainly in the future. Private property will also disappear.

  • @schpoogie 3....and travel will be near impossible in the future (20-30 yrs) as the govt will limit our travel due to our carbon LIMITS. Cars will be off the road as prices will go up and up and govt will legislate cars off raods....Public transport only.

The UN has also predicted that by 2040 the world population will be reduced drastically.......hmmm......carbon tax...prices up...ppl starve.....simple.

  • @Badwolf182 Mate I confess I would bot say much about the UN! It is United Nothingness the greatest money wasting organisation the world has ever seen after Australias current government.

The UN could not organise an afterwork piss up at XXXX.

The I guess neiter could the Aussie government.

  • @Inconvenientruths lol I wish that were true!

  • Our countries are run by occultists who are selling us out, oh and checkout how many of them are members of the Fabian Society

  • @radiantcold really? Will our grandchildren live for thousand years? Get some facts and learn some ecology you spoon fed drone! It idealistic idiot like you that are driving this evil scheme.

    F%cking Chardonnay socialist wanker!

  • Evil commie crap! DO NOT CO-OPERATE WITH IT, THIS IS A LIE, IT IS BASED ON LIES AND WILL DO NOTHING!

  • Her ignorance is going to get her a hell of a belting, literally physical!

  • @MRMILO57 Is that a threat?

  • @topologyrob .....take it any way you want Robert!

There are many people that would love to give Gillard 2 black eyes.

  • @MRMILO57 so you're threatening physical violence on our Prime Minister - well now

  • @topologyrob ....you haven't seen anything yet, you wanna see what people are saying on twitter. Labor has never been this hated, Rudd started it, Gillard will have to take the fall!

I would be happy to see someone give Gillard 2 black eyes, it's her ignorance that is deeply irritating, ignoring the voters to the level she has. Big NO NO!

And by the way, the greens are being investigated!

    Have nice day.

  • @MRMILO57 It only proves there's a great deal of immature whinging in Australia. But anyone grown up enough to face facts welcomes the carbon tax. The Greens are in fact the only sane party currently in Australia. What do you mean they're being investigated?

  • @topologyrob ... no your wrong, 85% of Australia don't want this carbon tax (air tax). We didn't vote for it, Gillard, Rudd and Brown have colluded together!

They will pay a big price for their stupidity, you are so naive saying Brown and his cult are the most sane government. WE KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO DO TO AUSTRALIA!

The AFP need to investigate all green groups in Australia, you will see why in the coming years!

  • @MRMILO57 While you deal with your conspiracy theory paranoia, I'll ask you to consider what is sane about ignoring science and thinking one knows better than experts.

  • @topologyrob the problem is that free choice is taken away by bureaucrats, academics, activists and politicians all of whom claim to be an expert of some kind. They have even removed power from the people by describing 'common sense' as ignorant nonsense (wikipedia).

You are sprouting propaganda, your reference to experts is rhetoric for 'don't question what I say'. You disgust me.

  • @MRMILO57 So do you fly your own planes and do your own heart surgery? We need experts - the most reliable knowledge is in the evidence as amassed and assessed by those who spend their lives doing it, with proper tertiary and postgraduate training. Not shock jocks and journalists. The facts are clear from these experts. It's madness to pretend you know better, no different from seizing control of the 747 from the pilot.

  • @topologyrob Yeah, and you probably still believe in the good in people... congratulations, you are a stupid fuck. I hope they tax you for farting or better yet they should imprision you for breathing, but then you will keep on breathing, so let's just blow your brains out.

  • @dardhus You have such a way with persuasive rhetoric

  • @MRMILO57 And I do agree that common sense is often ignorant nonsense, as with quantum physics - common sense says it should be wrong. We know from the evidence that common sense is very wrong in this case. As it appears to be with climate science, since some people seem to think common sense says humans can't affect the environment, when the evidence makes it clear we can (and do).

  • @topologyrob You are subverting free thought exactly as l perceived. Any truth is self evident if you look at things the right way. But climate theories are predictions which is NOT the realm of science.

Your belittling of 'common sense' is well disgusting. It's just a technique to stop me objecting to you.

You and all the other climate cult types tap into a flaw of the human psyche that the world is coming to an end and it is mans fault. This is ancient, the origins of religion.

  • @MRMILO57 I'm only "subverting" incorrect misinformation. To say AGW is not factual is simply incorrect - the evidence is clear, as the science shows. Common sense is clearly not always correct, as my quantum physics example shows, however difficult that may be for you. It's simply a fact.

One does not have to be a "cult" member to accept the findings of science. In fact, it's perverse to do otherwise. I doubt you carry this forward into other areas of life, such as aeronautics.

  • @MRMILO57 And of course predictions are the realm of science - that's actually a huge part of science, making predictions. Climate science is very much science. What a strange thing to say, that somehow it's not science.

  • @MRMILO57 Take away our above mentioned for now.

But what your type (the greenies, Brown and his activists etc..) are trying to enforce, is to take away peoples freedom, you're attacking my freedom, I feel threatened, This is the reason why I am so vocal and have all intentions of causing as much trouble for Brown and his followers as I can.

  • @MRMILO57 Quantum Science is a special case. We are most likely a computer simulation and the designer did not include coding below the atomic level. Or, reality isn't like anything we think it is and our perception can never understand it. Your choice :o)

  • The lower house held an initial vote on the Clean Energy Future Bill 2011 plus 17 associated bills on Tuesday evening.

    Labor won the vote 74-73.

  • @radiantcold 74-72, actually.

  • What a lie...........Think about all the trees that DEPEND on this carbon you want to get rid of. Over 99% of the carbon produced is from NATURAL elements of nature. How about if we tax the areas who have volcano's or earthquakes? Because if we did that....it would be equally ridiculous.

  • @ateamofone

The CO2 that nature emits is balanced by natural absorptions by the ocean and vegetation. Human emissions upset the natural balance and are causing the accumulation of CO2 in our atmosphere, since not all of our emmisions are absorbed by nature. CO2 concentrations have already risen to levels not seen in at least 800,000 years.

  • @radiantcold Earthquakes and volcanoes are NOT regulated. Sometimes it gives off more and sometimes less. You cant base what we are doing as if the planet is a regulated environment. You want real results? Go after oil companies and what they do to our planet. Have you looked into the salt brine under the golf coast? The one that leaked and they say its capped. The oil pressure is being forced into the salt and will cause much of the US in the lower Mississippi to sink.

  • Our 1% emissions dont change the natural balance....there is no natural balance. It naturally goes up and down in time. The planet has its own heart and lives its own life. Our 1% is like throwing a deck chair off the Queen Mary.

  • At the moment, polluters don’t have to pay for the pollution they produce. Currently there is no incentive for them to cut their pollution. Under a carbon price, the companies emitting the largest amounts of pollution will pay for every tonne of pollution they emit. The more a company pollutes, the more they pay. Those lowering their pollution will be rewarded – through paying less of the carbon price than their competitors.

  • @radiantcold Who gets all this money from taxes? Do you trust them? They just want more of your money. How will us giving money to the govt fix the problem? It wont. If you want people to be more conscious about it then laws should start with the auto companies and building electric cars that they lie about and say it cant be done.

  • Here's the only facts you lemmings need to know

Fact 1 None of you gave a fucking squirt of piss about global warming 10 years ago.

Fact 2 Haarp is a known weather modification machine.

Fact 3 Drugs are bad mkay Hippies.

Fact 4 Taxation is not going to solve a damned thing other than linning the coffers of Man Bear Pig Gore whom is heavily invested in this issue.

Fact 5 The problem with so called scientists these days is they are all afraid to go against the scientific community biased much?

  • @TriggaTap

CO2 limits won't cool the planet, but they can make the difference between continued accelerating global warming to catastrophic levels vs. slowing and eventually stopping the warming at hopefully safe levels.

  • @radiantcold Really 95% of climate scientists are getting payrolled by gores possy to spread lies haha you make me laugh mr cattle man. I studdied marine biology at the University of Queensland the science you're fed is bogus what do u major in?. In fact where was your voice when an oil rig was purposefully sabotaged in america?. You care so much about the co2 you have exhaled your entire life yet you dont give a fuck about the ocean from that most food comes?

  • @TriggaTap

ExxonMobil Corp. gave $16 million to 43 ideological groups between 1998 and 2005 in an effort to mislead the public by creating misinformation about the science behind global warming.

  • @radiantcold why would exxon tell you. you are just funny

  • Fairy tales and fodder for fools. so much bull shit believed by so few.

  • 1) OMG! All the moronic deniers are doing a flash-mob on this site. Hahaha...OK dimwits, we know you haven't got a fucking clue what Global Warming is all about; you don't have to keep demonstrating how fucking retarded you all are. Fucking losers with junior high school science who arrogantly believe they know better than climate scientists and...

  • 2) so fucking gullible that they unquestioningly swallow what maggots like that mendacious piece of shit Andrew Bolt (even stated in a court judgement) and the other turd Alan Jones feed them. Every dumb denialist talking point has been debunked and it seems that the only ones unaware of it are the truly, truly cretinous TeaParty crowd in the US and Tony Abbott's own mob of sheep here. Baaahh, baaahh, global waaarming is a scaaam, it's not truuue...

  • Hahaha the science facts what a crock of shit.

  • @TriggaTap So where's your degree in climate science that gives you the right to deny the facts provided by almost 100% of experts. You have the right to your own opinion but not to your own facts.

  • @TheMa11lman 100% of experts really seems like u need a dose of facts now dont you ignorant fool wheres yours ? seems like people will accept any facts so long as the funding is there to back up their research. Morons like you will vote for tax when tax will not be the solution FUCKING IDIOT COMING THRU

  • @TriggaTap First of all the 5 facts that you provided are nothing but opinion and have nothing to do with the argument. The truth is every single science academy from every developed nation accept the FACT that human caused climate change exists. Do you think that your opinions can change this. You can debate how we should approach climate change for example:I don't necessarily think a carbon tax is the most effective means of eradicating climate change, but denying its existence is foolish

  • @TheMa11lman Shut your fucking face u derogatory little opinionated gibblet. Btw claiming scientists know a damned thing about the effects of co2 on our planet is a straight up farse. you sound to me like a global warming shill and at 19 ill bet u havent even paid taxes u have barely hit pubescent neanderthall. Albert Einstein more Field science than any of these money grapleing institutions in it for the flowing funding their worthless degrees can get them. Co2 PFFT the ocean=Lifeblood of earth

  • @TriggaTap Such a comment deserves no reasonable response you grammatically incorrect tool.

  • @TriggaTap

It is possible to help increase the growth of some plants with extra CO2, under controlled conditions, inside of greenhouses. It is based on this that 'skeptics' make their claims. However, such claims are simplistic. They fail to take into account that once you increase one substance that plants need, you automatically increase their requirements for other substances, such as water.

  • @TheMa11lman Oh no he pull out da big words nao gramatiacally self reiches FRUITCAKE u sound retarded get with the times u dont need to major english to make da dough dese days grow up MINEFAG losers game.

  • @TriggaTap

The IPCC lead authors are experts in their field, instructed to fairly represent the full range of the up-to-date, peer-reviewed literature. Comparisons to the most recent data consistently finds that climate change is occurring more rapidly and intensely than indicated by IPCC predictions.

  • @TriggaTap

That humans are causing global warming is the position of the Academies of Science from 19 countries plus many scientific organizations that study climate science. More specifically, around 95% of active climate researchers actively publishing climate papers endorse the consensus position.

  • This is left wing greenie propaganda

  • @Arniek95

Both sides of politics have exactly the same CO2 reduction targets. Please explain why Tony Abbott is a left wing greenie?

  • Both Liberal and labor believe in the fairy tale of AGW even though the eveidence against it is overwhelming. If you want to watch 6th International conference on climate change go to my channel make up your own mind, think for yourselves don't listen to any pollies they all have an agenda behind their decisions.Check out The Galileo Movement website and get both sides of the story then decide. You know what Juliar believes you know what Abbott believes. What do scientists believe?

  • @2wheels88

The Galileo Movement does not present an alternative consensus, but rather a collection of wildly conflicting and extensively discredited fragments designed to create confusion.

  • @radiantcold You may be confused but I have been studying the Ideology behind the green movement since I left greenpeace in 1985.I am far from confused in fact I'm convinced it is a bunch of BS because I know where this Ideology comes from, the Collectivist elite. If allowed to continue they will destroy this planet, you and your family.they will bring in their One World Solution of Global scientific dictatorship and enslave the human population. If u have not studied these elites u know nothing!!!

  • BARF

  • If the government was really concerned about "Extreme weather in Australia" which would cause massive damage and loss of life they would be doing something real and not trying to cash in on the situation.

Give a Choice to say "Yes"

Give us our democratic right to vote!!

  • The amount of crap on this comment section amazes me.. but i'm not going to waste my time trying to convince a bunch of conservative capitalistic nut jobs, all I'll say is; politicians lie! its a fact.. I bet you guys weren't so quick to jump on Howard when he lied about the GST or how Tony Abbot last year said HE'D support something like a carbon tax. You obviously listen to far to much Bolt and Jones; and Bolt by the way has just been found guilty of violating the discrimination act.

  • again we are not given a choice wake up Australia

  • @martinjsto we should vote on every single policy the government tries to implace, it will be incredibly cheap and effective.

  • How many LIES can you fit into TWO MINUTES???

  • @vimwebdev

Please elaborate on the "lies" you found in the video?

  • This is absolute bullshit! Read the FACTS, not what the UNIPCC wants to brainwash you with!!!!

  • How can we say 'yes' or 'no, when we have no choice? Gillard, you lying turd!

  • Thumbs Up if this video makes you sick!

  • @QuiksiIver What makes me sick is ignorant attacks on science by those in denial about climate change.

  • Carbon Price Say Yes? I say Carbon Tax Get Stuffed. You are a pack of liars and we're onto you!

  • @WatchmanDownunder We've been onto you for years. Your denial of global warming is a crock.

  • no, you're not a fascist @1ckyla, clinically insane is the word that comes to my mind. Here's something you can do to 'save the planet' and give us ALL some peace of mind... DON'T BREED YOURSELF.

This is a Criminal HOAX, socialist sewerage, and unlearned fools gobble it up like candy! This CRAP and its ensuing government policies are lining the pockets of psychotic parasites who are constructing a global government that will make Hitler's holocust look like a stroll in the park. WAKE UP!

  • Global warming: the biggest scam today, aside from the bullshit war in the Middle East

  • @MrChowTheTroll i hate it whan people say the same comment over and over again

  • Baa Baa bull shit

  • Wow, a bunch of hairy unicorn anal cocksucking fuckfaces trying to run this country, your a bunch of fucking fuckface liers and you have anal sex with all your gay poffta voters......

  • @ChaseTheDub Whats your proposal? keep burning fossil fuels?

  • Can someone explain to me why myself and my generation (Y) should pay for ignorance of previous generations before me.

Trees remove C02 basic year 7 biology

And for the record i think a carbon tax is the biggest scam of mankind

  • @boostedmuztek I am from generation Y and I can easily say that it's not a scam, and it's not because of previous generations before you, it's the way society was developed, the WORLD developed with the idea that fossil fuels was the most efficient way to use machines, it was only recently that people discovered that it was doing harm to the planet because of the natural disasters and Co2, this requires action now, and this is one of the first steps the government is taking to fix it.

  • @boostedmuztek not necessarily ignorance, they just didnt know. If we dont pay for what the previous generations mistakes then the next generation will, even gen Y will pay for it if we don't act now. Carbon tax is just a start, our cities need to become 'greener', our transport, our homes. Well done you remember yr 7 bio, whats your point?

  • @boostedmuztek

The CO2 that nature emits is balanced by natural absorptions by the ocean and vegetation. Human emissions upset the natural balance and are causing the accumulation of CO2 in our atmosphere, since not all of our emmisions are absorbed by nature. CO2 concentrations have already risen to levels not seen in at least 800,000 years.

  • @boostedmuztek basically previous generations screwed up big time without

knowing for it and we have the opportunity to try and slow further damage

or just cop it. If you believe in trying to stop further climate change, Labor's

Carbon Price is the most cost effective option available. Not one economist in the

country will support Abott's direct action scheme, that should tell you something

  • Avast ye, beware the conservative trolls! Lest ye drown in a sea of negativity, moribund political backwash or washed onto the rocky shores of future turmoil by a coalition of Liberals desperate to gain control of Parliament by any means without having any viable solutions of its own, alongside corporate lobbies that will always seek the political approach that will gain them the most in the short-term: inaction.

A 'dodgy political fix' is better than no fix; my generation deserves action.

  • @1nown I agree 100%, good job sir.

  • I have a much better idea,. but those of the 'Politically correct' persuasion would probably call me a fascist.. Humanity is a cancer like parasite that is eating its host to death, therefore slowly killing itself in the process,. humans need to stop breeding, there are already far to many of us, and to sustain any quality of life in the futer we need to have a one child policy in every single country. but that 's not going to happen is it..

  • I have flagged this video as scam/Fraud, hope the rest of you do the same so this video can be removed...

  • Right from the start the lies come out. "This is the critical decade for tackling climate change". Environmentalist stated the same thing in the 90s and warned that it would be too late by the early 2000s, when their doomsday predictions failed to come to pass they just extended their deadlines, they are like Harold Camping revising his predicitions for judgement day.

  • the carbon tax will have no effect however on saving the world, however in the long run its worth it cause it forces us to go to renewable sources for our energy we cant use coal and oil forever derp

  • So I drive an hour to work everyday producing around 500grams (estimate) of CO2. Now with a carbon tax in place, I drive an hour to work everyday producing around 500grams of CO2. So, how have I reduced carbon levels gobshite?

  • WE SAID NO! Yet somehow it got pushed through without even giving us the people an option?? I'm getting sick and tired of the government freely doing whatever they please at the cost of our lives. Common Australia! We're smarter than that! We're angrier than that! We're overdue for a Revolution!

  • @sketchrides

Many countries have already started the transformation to a low pollution economy. 32 countries and ten US states have emissions trading schemes. Others, including China, Taiwan, Chile and South Korea and a number of Canadian provinces, are considering developing their own or have trials in place. Carbon taxation is in place in the UK, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada and (on a selective basis) in China and India - and it is under discussion in the EU, Japan, S.Africa.

  • Carbon tax is nothing more then an imaginary story carbon tax is nothing but a rip off

Saying yes To Carbon TAX will kill Australia Say No you fools

I agree lets get on with sacking JULIAR

  • Notice how she continuously says CARBON POLLUTION in every speech she gives. Carbon pollution doesn't exist, it's a made up statement. WE are made up of hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and CARBON. WAKE UP PEOPLE, it's the NEW WORLD ORDER!

  • @taouk7 true that!!

  • @taouk7

A broader definition of pollutant is a substance that causes instability or discomfort to an ecosystem. In the past 10000 years, the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has remained relatively stable. However, human CO2 emissions in that last 100 years have upset this balance. The increase in CO2 has some direct effects on the environment. Eg, as the oceans absorb CO2, which leads to acidification of marine ecosystems. However, the chief impact from rising CO2 is warmer temperatures.

  • CARBON TAX IS THE AGENDA OF THE NWO.

    WHY BE A SLAVE?

HOW ABOUT FREE RENEWABLE ENERGY, COLD FUSION ANYONE?

  • @watchermewatcheru

At the moment, polluters don’t have to pay for the pollution they produce. Currently there is no incentive for them to cut their pollution. • The Stern Report (search it on Wikipedia) is an economic report that shows action in mitigating climate is more economically feasible than a business as usual approach.

If you are skeptical of climate change then perhaps it's time to stop listening to Alan Jones and find a reputable source. Search YouTube for Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' and have a listen.

A price on CO2 isn't a solution; it's the beginning of a movement toward a sustainable future, a move every nation will have to make.

  • wow, "80%" of Australians have been sucked in by Tony Abbott's Lies & Misinformation Party...anyone who doesn't think carbon pollution is an important issue hasn't been getting their facts from the correct sources. Also, I'm not sure how placing a price on emissions to encourage reduction of pollution, the revenue from which would be used to fund clean energy is a bad thing? Man, some people need to learn how to research stuff...

  • Absolute Pure Bullshit.

  • Only one thing will prove that most people do not want this tax it is called an Election

the last one was an insult to the honest voters of Australia

Judging by the comments on all related sites everyone is fed up with this Government who do not represent the people of Australia or their views.

It wont be a landslide but a massive avalanche.

  • 80 % of REAL Australians are against the lies being fed to us by so called scientists who have no experience except computer modeling which is a pathetic substitute for actual hands on experience and full knowledge of ones subject .

Its all fodder for fools and lemmings otherwise.

Scientists do not rely solely on models. When looking for evidence of global warming, there are many different indicators they are investigating. Whilst it's natural to look at air temperatures, a more thorough examination should be as inclusive as possible; snow cover, ice melt, air temperatures over land and sea, even the sea temperatures themselves. A 2010 study included 10 key indicators, and every one of them is moving in the direction expected of a warming globe.

  • @radiantcold Yes i know all this . fact is most of these scientists are paid by Government they are not weather scientists but economists with little or no experience in global weather, i have been following weather pattens

for a long time, and can say it is more a weather pattern shift, this happened before man had industry of the scale we have now, fact is the tax will be used for everything but carbon reduction, anyone with a brain knows that.

  • @jazzysnaps

Natural climate change in the past proves that climate is sensitive to an energy imbalance. If the planet accumulates heat, global temperatures will go up. Currently, CO2 is imposing an energy imbalance due to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Past climate change actually provides evidence for our climate's sensitivity to CO2.

  • I laugh at how this right-wing, backwards minority commenting below me are so vocally against something they know nothing about. 80% of the country's leading economists prefer the carbon tax over the LNP's direct action policy, over 95% of the world's scientists believe climate change is real. Put up with the facts, or shut up.

  • @heliosrayne Backward, you toolbag! Which economist can you name that can provide a factual measure to the drop in temperature we will see by TAXING us?
