What they don't tell us here is that the year before the Irish voted No.
This is great that they force countries into this! It's great! And what makes it even better is that article 48 states that no country will be allowed a second referendum on the treaty :D This is so great!
Because this helps us Eurosceptics so much! This proves it's undemocratic!
We have a real reason to why countries should leave or not!
Just reading the description there, you make it seem like it was our fault that the whole thing was passed! It's the exact seem thing that happened with the recent bail-out. The rest of Europe put an unnecessary pressure on us that the future of the EU and MANKIND was resting on our shoulders! I voted against the Lisbon treaty on both occasions, but really I can't blame those who voted Yes the 2nd time. People weren't given a choice! And this isn't communism, THIS IS THE EVIL THAT IS CAPITALISM!
the irish were blackmailed. they were threatened. a yes vote under these circumstances is unfair.......but what could they do? the european 'gestapo' are on the move....watch out!!!!
It's the first thing that came to mind when I watched the report as well. The BBC reporters (and on radio) were well pleased that their pro-EUSSR propaganda conned people into voting yes.
@roflcopter2006 Brussels Broadcasting Corporation such biased propoganda and we are forced to pay for it. Democracy ask President Barrosso the Maoist when the people voted for him last?.
the vote was fiddled for fuck sake.....we spoke with a clear and resounding vote the first time....man my blood is boiling

ireland is a republic, not a democracy
they arent communist

The Eurocrats are slime, just pure slime. Why any country wants to give its power away is unbelievable.

The Irish gave in with an uncharacteristic whimper. The middle classes would back it because they're cowardly narcissists.

That BBC reporter couldn't have sounded any happier when he said "Ireland have voted yes".

I feel the BBC are committing journalistic suicide, notice how the conservatives are referred to as 'Tories' just about all the way through.

Well, I hope that Cameron will hold the referendum. Even if this doesn't happen, we can still have some impact on the EU's policies from the inside.
asmodeus585 2 years ago 6
The Conservatives WON'T hold a referendum - along with Labour and the Liberal Democrats, they're all FOR the EU.
We're fucked!
