Turning their backs to the haka would be unbelievably disrespectful. That would be like walking out of the stadium during the opposing team's national anthem. The haka is meant to be met head on, it's a challenge in itself. It doesn't give the team an "unfair advantage"; they're perpetuating a part of New Zealand's native culture. The opposing team can meet it with a challenge if they want to it's just that a lot of times they don't.
The All Blacks Haka should be challenged. I wonder if there is a team that has ever turned its back on the NZ as they do the Haka?? This Irish challenge is the best I have seen and not forgetting France in the WC final.

I can remember watching this on T.V. in the club I played for (injured at the time) and both my father in law (ex-Old Wesley) and his best friend (ex l. Irish) weren't impressed with Anderson. Me the Englishman, thought it was brilliant. Ah well!!

I am the nephew of C M H Gibson. That means Mike Gibson, I have to say to say watching videos of him playing he was pretty good. But watching the Haka being turned into a silly All Blacks dance that didn't work just makes me laugh.

That act was disrespectful as it is previously agreed that the ABs can do it. Whenever someone wants to do something different there is negotiation (remember Tonga x NZ in the 2011 RBWC). However, the French team wanted to innovate, but was indeed silly and against the good practices long go defined and accepted. Silly act turn into (in my opinion) the only very bad mistake committed the the French. By the way, although it is a war dance it is nothing more than showing the kiwi culture!!!

Turning their backs to the haka would be unbelievably disrespectful. That would be like walking out of the stadium during the opposing team's national anthem. The haka is meant to be met head on, it's a challenge in itself. It doesn't give the team an "unfair advantage"; they're perpetuating a part of New Zealand's native culture. The opposing team can meet it with a challenge if they want to it's just that a lot of times they don't.

The All Blacks Haka should be challenged. I wonder if there is a team that has ever turned its back on the NZ as they do the Haka?? This Irish challenge is the best I have seen and not forgetting France in the WC final.

So your point is who care if the All Blacks need the referee to beat France by one single point in the final, they deserve it... Wow, it is kind of an admission the ABs did not deserve to win the final but still get away with the World Champion Title. In my book it is sad for rugby than even soccer (football) understands the point of a World Cup better. A World Cup is NOT a championship, a World Cup is all about knockout games. France knocked New Zealand out but the IRB would not have it.

Yep Australia in 1996 at Athletic park in Wellington. Absolutely awful weather 3 handling errors in the whole game by the Ab's and final score was 43- 6 to N.Z. Best if teams face off in my opinion and actually challenge it themselves. IRB are absolute wankers for fining the French in my opinion.

The IRB are a bunch of idiots, need to get replaced by people with a few more brains/respect for the game. Damn straight. It's a friggin challenge, it should be opposed. Can't see any reason why the players shouldn't respond to an obvious challenge. Much better than having them just look accross and not do anything at all. So ridiculous.

Delighted that NZ won. The country has been through a shit time and they hosted a wonderful event in a superb way. NZ are the soul of rugby and deserve total respect. A different class. BUT, it is undeniable that they creaked over the line. I look forward and hope that now the monkey is off of their back that they will play the way we all know they can. Of course we softened up the Sheilas for them..
