@manmanguy In response to your ellen barkin iron comment....I can only say, a pressing engagement with her up against the fridge is my idea of not long enough.
the soundscape in these two scenes is amazing. you can hear the shoes hit the road outside when ellen barkin throws them out the window. also the feet fidgeting by tom waits on the gravel. Great attention to detail.
Those very shoes came up on ebay under the seller, The Starlight Children's Foundation. I grabbed them for about $120 bucks. That was I don't know...around 2002. Maybe earlier. I got a note to accompany them. Starlight auctioned them originally at a public auction, but no one took them home. They hung around in their office locker for years. Some dings on them (metal heels) from being tossed.
Black with silver metal toes and heels, and molten red leather inside. I keep them under my bed.
The shoes are made in texas, (or at least sold in texas), and right now they are in a box that's a bit hard to access...I'll look again later to give you the name of the label...but I remember it beginning with a "J"
Size 10D...go watch Cold Feet...Waits biggest film role, and hilarious...and quite mad...there's more shoes in that....
@sclogse1:They are some smooth lookin' shoes, the only "J" shoemaker I can think of in Texas is actuallly a bootmaker: Justin Boots. Lemme know if you come across the name, they look a little more stylish than most Justin Boots I've seen. But kudos to whoever makes em, they got some real taste in "steppin' out" wear...
I tried pasting an url to endless shoes on the web. (They have pointed half boots) but I could not post. So you gotta poke around. THe shoes they have do not have the metal (non steel) points.
@sclogse1 Oh shnap. Any chance of me buying them off of ya? XD

Try amazon and type in John Fluevog Men's Sendai Pointy Toe Ankle Boot.
It's a start.

Shoes...(I'm getting better at this)
Just type in Winklepickers in google. You might find something in that variety.
