a bit more air pressure in the front tires and a little less in the rear would have prevented this. if you extend your crank case breather hose and make a few loops around the air filter you'll never have water in your oil from swamping it like this... given the fact that you take the hose off at the motor and blow the line out before turning the motor over.
@firefurzz no its called being stupid.do you realize how bad you gonna screw up that bike without a snorkle on it.if it floats are not.if it gets shut off in water you get water in your oil then goes in your motor.fucks it up.

Yea no doubt. I actually have put dielectric grease in every electrical port, harness, etc. Kinda helps idiot proof everything. Haven't had the first electrical problem since then. Been doing crazy crap like this for a while. Just buddies like this one don't know how to ride in water this deep. so they end up floating my bikes down the river.
@robmancomeith Still gotta be careful so you don't get the water intake wet even if yo have a snorkel kit.
I know someone who accidentally went a little too deep (without snorkel kit water looked shallower) and got tons of water in the oil. Buddy hadda change it twice to get it out. Killed a few winches too.
hey man u talking bout the leaf river in mississippi? cuz i grew up in smith county right by the leaf. i am i n iraq right now but when i get home i m gonna blow some of this war money on a new honda. maybe we can ride sometime?
got them. their just low profile & rest on the gas tank cover next to the seat. They need to be extended, just liked the low pro look.but doesn't do any good when you flip it on the side in a river huh.....LOL
Yes it will die if you completely flood the exhaust. But you snorkel the air intake, exhaust & on some models the belt housing. Some people can keep enough throttle on their rides to keep the exhaust from flooding out. As you can tell on the video my buddy messed up & let off & it died immediately. If you look at some of my other vid's you'll see me & some buds keep the throttle up the whole time til the rear is out of the water good enough.
thats awesome. never thought about that. We were actually discussing the other day what would help float that front a little better on all our bikes, rather than power it up all the time to keep it bobbing. thanks for the heads up.
We ride this part of the river all the time. My boy owns a camp right on the sand bar we were on. & anyone who knows bikes knows that you just about can't kill a honda. He was floating like that because of the huge a** tires. We let out some air & he was able to sink the back enough to dig in like the rest of us. All in good fun man. chill out a little bit.
We actually had it snorkeled, but my buddy was going for a low profile look so he mounted them just behind the gas tank. They just rest on top of the plastic. Kind of pointless I know, but it goes deeper than stock.

boats don't go deep they float, if i wanted to float i would definately buy a boat. but good try at a dis. why can't people understand that sometimes you ride down a trail & come to a river & want to cross it. Why not have fun while you do it.
i have an old 1993 polaris 250 trail boss, and it'll go anywhere.i flipped into 3 and a half feet of mud and water and nothing happened. all i did was flip it back over and started it up, ran like nothing happened
ok look do a water whillie it puts more wight on the back to keep your bike down and you'll get across like nothing ive gone depper than that on my 350
He was trying for a water wheelie. His tires were so big that it floated. the water was up to his shoulders if you watched when he fell off. Don't know a 350 around that could go that deep w/o a 4 ft snorkel.
I feel your pain. I flipped my Rubi in a pond and had to drain it out. Luckily no water in the motor. Had it up and running in around 10 mins too. Been running great ever since
Na no issues with any of the mechanicals. We flushed all the water out of the carb & exhaust. Fired right off first try. He was back on the sand bar after that. Those 30's aired all the way up just float like pontunes.
how on earth it can be running under water?
