Haha, thanks it's good to know, but to be honest we say also in german "Torte" (or "Kuchen") and not "Mehlspeise" :D

Austrian German is standard German, so many people confuse it with the separate language Austro-Bavarian.

You are right they are not exactly the same! There are no perfect translations in general. In my dictionary: Guten Tag! = Good morning!; Good afternoon!; Good day!; How are you?; How do you do? / Grüß Gott! = Greetings!; Hello!, Good morning!, etc.
