The effort to make Dietrich Bonhoeffer a more known historical figure sure is a good thing. The biography of Eberhart Bethge is a masterpiece. Sure, much time has passed since his book - but he was the personal close friend of Bonhoeffer (and himself captured by the gestapo in 1944). Metaxas could use Bethges book (over 1000 pages - and none of it boring) - he tries to show the people what an amazing great person Bonhoeffer had been. And this is a good thing.

How is Metaxas considered a bright pundit?

Bonhoeffer sat in a church listen to a preacher (Like Obama) who was "Powell combined gentle, meek, non-violent love with revolutionar radical social change" See Against Cheap Grace in a World Come of Age: An Intellectual Biography of Clayton Powell, 1865-1953. p11. That should warm Glenn Becks soul lol

i saw this guy metaxas destroyed by hitchens and he could not even see it what a horrible loser bonhoeffer is probably an interesting character but metaxas has killed my curiosity to delve further

Bonhoeffer was brave but powerless. He is one of the reasons i don't believe in a god. It's all talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk
