It's nice to have a somewhat scientific explanation BUT why only until now is this happening? Have we not had solar flares and geomagnetic storms 5 10 50 or 100 years ago? Is there any documented historical evidence for this? In my lifetime I've never heard of or read of this phenomenon. So it is either a hoax, or something "new" and until there is empirical evidence, I'll lean towards it being a bunch of idiots dubbing in sounds. It's amazing what you can do with computers these days.

But seriously, I heard this noise last year during the summer in Ireland and so did my friend in holand. We were on facebook talking and heard it at the same time. Carried on for about 15 mins then stopped but was followed by almost like neon blue flash lightening that looked like it was coming from the sea (which would be the english channel for those that were wondering, my town is at the coast. My friend didn't experience to blue flashes but I CAN tell you I was fucking terrified.

Man it's a Shofar instrument in a plane I think. Like I mean it's not fake, some videos are fake but not all. Some of the videos are hoaxes and the more attention this gets the more hoaxes we'll see, but most of them are not hoaxes. They're probably cloaked spaceships getting ready for the invasion. hmmm ok obvious first reaction was to cross check with map of HAARP locations with sound reports... looks probable.
