I played a Mage but I used to love watching a GOOD Necro at work. There were plenty of bad ones, as with all classes, but when you found a good one there was an art to their soloing. I still wouldn't have given up my pet to be one, but they were fun to watch. Some of the most fun groups I ever had were all pet groups. Pure destruction. Toss some Mages, Necros, and Beasts together with some Mass Buffs from POK bank and it was on !! LOL. Good times.

The last time I played EQ. I was in a group with about 30 people, running along those walls that you see on the side there. We got to that back corner, then the monk went and pulled tallon so we could all tank and spank.

eq is still good, i play a lvl 80 mage and ive been around since 2001. i hardly play though cuz its no fun to solo even though the merc's make it possible for everyone. i miss the days of finding a group in almost every zone. ah the old days *sniff*

Luclin? for me the peak was PoP. I have so many great memories playing my Bard and SK in the PoP era on 7th Hammer.

I also enjoyed the game up into GoD, I didn't get to the higher end content of GoD tho I quit shortly after it came out.

Would love to start over again from original EQ and progress up through PoP again... if only.

My two main characters were "Kildiar" DE-SK and "Trinity" EUR ENC on Tallon Zek- think when I left Kildiar was lvl 60 Trin had been retired early- the dark side was much more fun to play on ;)

the world became to big, and the nerfed the pvp way too much- pvp in EQ was the bomb in the first two years before all the little wimps came on and started complaining about how hard it was to play - imagine trying to lvl your character when anything was cool- god I miss EQ- if only if only.

Nah, dude. Tallon was the easiest encounter of all Zek. Don't get me wrong though. The solo encounter is still freaking amazing. :)

says the one who was like 7 years old when everquest came out. You dont know shit about eq and it pwns wow. How do I know? Cuz I played eq1 for 4 years and wow highend is crap (yes it is but you don't have anything to compare it with so you think it owns). Yes, I've raided wow all the way to RoS in BT and Hyjal cleared. When it comes to pvp in eq vs wow, eq is alot more advanced than a video like this could ever show, but wow does have good pvp, although the arena/bg system is total bullshit.

Agreed. WoW's professions are shitty too. Wow's professions go stale once you get higher end ones. In EQ all the trade skills were still good no matter what level you had them at. EQ also had better ways to earn faction. I like the fact that my Dark Elf could run thru Cabilis without being attacked bacause I could kill Sarnaks for faction. WoWs Faction system is all fucked up too. Then again, WoW is supposed to be super easy and highly user friendly, thats where it loses its challenge.

The reason he doesnt get summoned is because tallon zek is the exception to all the rules. Tallon zek was given the main ability to shadow step, which he does constantly, which resets his hate list, unlike other mobs, his primary attack isnt melee, its ranged fighting, so he doesnt charge at targets. If a caster shifts his/her position to avoid the bow attack, and stay's out of melee range, you wont be summoned and usually will rarely get hit by his weaker bow attack. goodjob on soloing him.

wtf do people mean by square environment ...this feken creature lives inside a big ass square room lol ...their are places in EQ where you can climb giant plants or fall down waterfalls ...this is one rather small square room in 1 zone out of the 400 zones in EQ

not to mention this zone is over 5 years old and anything more recent looks a lot like WoW really ...people who have not played EQ should not be allowed to speak about it =P

It was on Prexus server not emu at all.

If you hug the back wall you will stay out of his hitbox and he will mainly used his bow to hit you.

I was never summoned during the 10 minutes it lasted.

tbh, it does not suck, it's really a great game ! But it looks crappy because of me : i've used a basic video making software lowering a bit video quality and lost even more uploading it on Youtube. In a nutshell, gfx looks like bad cause of that.

Nowadays this kill is not that hard, I would say it gets easier if your friend has a 11-12k+ mana pool as it is quite mana consuming.

As regards to the spells used, i mainly used fire spells (Ashengate Pyre Rk. II, Dread Pyre, Pyre of the Fallen Rk. II) and 1 poison spell (Kedgefish Venom Rk. II)...magic ones were quite resisted. Some clickies added free dps, in a nutshell i would say it's a long fight more than a difficult one
