  • Very fitting video,as that poker hand is called "Broadway",home to very city where Sonny and Brownie met. Maybe you already knew something that you didn't yet know.

  • I knew, Sonny and Brownie met in NYC, but I didn't know the poker hand is called "Broadway".

Just a coincidence I choosed that picture, "poker hand ".

    Thank you and

    Peace Brother !

  • Great.... sounds like Big Joe Williams also playing on this? 5/5!

It's Blues For Gamblers, and I'm sure we all are. Playin the Blues is a gamble and tryin to catch a catfish is also a gamble.*smile*

  • Great stuff. You can't beat Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry. They had a very distinctive sound.

  • You are right Raymond. There are "few" good Bluesmen from the East Coast, but Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, sure was !!

I was fortunate to listen to them here in my hometown Gotheburg, Sweden in the late sixties.

Thanks for the comment and listening.

    Peace.

  • Heard some of those American Folk & Blues albums, lots of "Greats" playing together & making some wonderful Blues. Best part is some of these have been remastered & restored on CDs, if you can find them.

  • This recording is from a collection LP of such American Folk Blues Festival in Europe.

Me myself, had the opportunity to visit one at the concert Hall Of Gothenburg, my hometown, in the late sixties. I still remember it !!! Wow !

Thanks for the comment and listening.
